Is it now a crime for police officers to investigate suspected members of the public even without bullying ?

Nigerians have continued to cry out over incessant police harassment and extortion.

A twitter user shared a new video of a Police Officer harassing a student because the student owns an iPhone X in Delta State.

The police officer stopped a vehicle and asked the guy to come out, he came out and he took the guy's phone and was going through it.

The Policeman then said:

"how much did you buy this phone?"

The guy answered...

The officer said:

"Una dey here am, me wey don work for over 13 years, this year go make me 14 years for servic, I never get money buy N250k phone........ Come carry your bag, carry your bag......"

The Twitter user who shared the video wrote:

"I recorded this video, actually happened today in Delta state, Okpe. An officer harassing a student just because he owns an iphone X #fvckyouchallenge."

I have always advised these Delsu Students/OsubiBoys/OrerokpeBoys e.t.c to always stop flashing their cloudy lifestyle in front of these police officers.

Could he not have left that phone at home and carried a much more calmer phone out with him.

These police officers have a way of picking people off and the smart thing to do is to do all you can to fall out of their radar.

If you can afford an iphone x, it means that you can also afford a spare smart phone that does not attract the eyes and yet still meets your needs.

Not saying using an iphone is now a crime, but we all know the country were we reside...

You need to see how these boys behave when the keke buses are approaching a police check point (especially those S.O.S check points).

They start hiding their strap bags, they begin to beg mature female passengers to help them hold their phones.

As funny as the drama seems to play out, you really begin to feel that these boys indeed have something to hide.

This is rubbish. Why should the police man ask the price of the phone? Why should the guy lie about the price of his phone? What the hell is the business of the police man with the guy's phone?

Really? students are not allowed to work? in Nigeria? when I was a student i had a part time Job, that Job paid for most of my Gadgets and even rent. and i even managed to save a hell lot of £££s. I feel sorry for you people in that country

This is why it’s difficult for us to actually grow as a country. We black people we don’t like seeing good things happen in our fellow black mans life. This is why I don’t take those Black Lives Matter movement seriously. This so called officer is clearly frustrated that this guy here can afford the phone in question, and cannot. The question weather he is a yahoo boy or not, is out of the equation because no proof he is and no proof he isn’t. That’s an argument we will make if he his investigated. Because if u say he is a yahoo boy, without any proof then you clearly saying anyone using an iPhone is a yahoo boy.
