The scheme was design to build unity among Nigerians . Young Nigerians are exposed to culture, language and behaviour of people in their place of primary assignment. This reduces the perception and stereotyped thinking many have towards a tribe. However the scheme didn't achieve much as things began to change.
1. Many Nigerians hate themselves now like never before. This is exhibited by many persons from certain tribe. They display their stupidity on various social media not excluding this forum. By now the scheme should have changed their mindset towards other Nigerians but it didn't. The reality is what the post on the internet portray who they are.
2. Many persons now influence their posting instead of the normal process. If you are not connected you are on your own. Young corp members ought to be seen more in rural areas instead of cities. The reverse is the case in many states countrywide. Many young Nigerians are even posted to their state of origin while others are posted to these main state or region as the case may be- Lagos, Rivers, Ogun and FCT. Unlike before were a Yoruba, Hausa( including other persons from the north) are been posted to southeast or south south, Igbo posted to west and north, the reverse is the case now. What I see now is many igbos,Yorubas and other tribes posted to those main states listed above. Many are now posted to their neighbouring state ( states that speak same language with. This is common among yorubas, igbos and Hausas). So what is the point of been posted to neighbouring state where you share similar language and culture? Your knowledge will limited about other parts of Nigeria. This phenomenon has been going on for long until it was orchestrated by the boko haram menace were many parents were agitating for posting of their kids to neighbouring or safe states. States like Borno was ruled out because of this menace hence nysc came up with a policy were prospective corp members can now choose where to serve. If a corp member choose were to serve, of what use is the scheme? Many prospective corp members now choose state that would be beneficial to them not because they want to learn anything about those states.

Why are they waking late, I could remembered my day in Umudi,imo state,One of the most dreaded NYSC camp in Nija,we always woke at 3:30am to 4:00am because no toilets/bathrooms, so you must wake as early as possible to search for water and take your bath b4 day break,else you will take your bath in the market.

Funny enough I wasn’t condemning you about your English I actually condemned the fact that you commented like an ex Corp member(graduate) but you don’t know the fact that bugle is blown at 6am and 6pm.
