Candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) in the last presidential election, Kingsley Moghalu has announced his withdrawal from “partisan politics.”

IGBERE TV reports that the former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, announced his decision in a chat with newsmen on Friday in Abuja.

Moghalu, who came 14th position with 21,886 votes in the March 23 poll, said he was now going to dedicate his time to a citizens’ movement called Build A Nation (TBAN) “which seeks to help in the development of Nigeria’s electoral process.”

Asked if he would accept a political appointment if such should come from the Buhari-led administration, he simply said “If such an appointment is offered, then you reflect on it and make a decision.”

He was my best candidate too. Not one 76 year old dullard that knows next to nothing about everything he governs and always spends more time in the UK than even some of the citizens of the UK nor a 72 year old thief that owns most of the country's asset by proxy and is chiefly responsible for ensuring that this country remains in darkness.

Muoghalu, you're blessed already. Just take your wife, and move out of this country

The moment I saw educated and enlightened people, especially youths clamouring for two Seventy-something year old men to be their president, I knew it's finished

I need a Master's degree to work in NNPC, while my president needs an unverified WAEC result to govern 200 million people, including the NNPC I want to work grin

And the other thief that has ruled for 8 years still wants to come back. Maybe he forgot his phone charger in 2007. Rubbish

You, Muoghalu, was still my best candidate in the 2019 elections. But then, a vote for you never mattered sad

Abeg nor come kee person with laff here jor. grin grin cheesy cheesy

How can a refined person like Moghalu enter the rofo-rofo pekelemesi politics of Nigeria?

Nigerians, especially the youth, have signed up to suffer, to sell their votes and destiny for 5k, and be BMC goons for 30k per month, so why would any serious person want to change that? shocked shocked shocked

If Moghalu moves abroad with his kids, someday his grand kids could be Members of parliament or reach other high political posts in saner climes purely on merit.

Bolustical:
Kingsley, Fela, Madam Oby were never in the race, they not only wanted to add 'one-time presidential candidate' to their profiles but also wanted appointments from this government.

The way they ran their campaigns and their sudden withdrawals showed they were not serious.

These are the guys that should be in the legislature..

FAKE NEWS ALERT! cheesy

Moghalu had an Arise TV interview on Wednesday and only said that it was far too early to contemplate whether to contest in the 2023 elections, but that he was presently joining a non-partisan effort to (1) reform the Nigerian electoral system and (2) deepen voter education.

I understood long ago that Nigerian politics is for criminals, odd characters, touts, demonic elements and those hypocrites who are willing and ready to lick their masters ass. They are d ones that actually benefit in the political hussle..Kingsley Moghalu u were too refined for d terrain of Nigerian politics..Nigerians prefer mediocres than polished good-hearted men per excellence..With this sort of attitude shrouded in terrible tribal hatred, religous intolerance and personal selfishness, if u tell me that this Nigeria we are today will ever grow and develop, i will stone u..Gaddem, its unfortunate..The only consolation is that one day, Nigeria will exist no more..I see regions going their seperate ways..Thats d only way out. It may not be now , not in this generation, but only time will tell..The wise should look beyond this country. That is the best legacy for your progeny..

It's difficult for a group of uneducated and unenlightened people to allow a man of vision to lead them. Moghalu by now must have realized that Nigerians are not ready for positive changes.
