Murtala then sent thousands of soldiers across to Onitsha where they started to loot and destroy like they had done in Asaba. Biafran soldiers rallied and totally massacred the Federal forces. Some managed to swim back to Asaba to tell what happened.

and the officers that foiled the coup was of Igbo extraction e.g It failed in Kano because Ojukwu held his ground, Nzeogwu assaainated an Igbo officer for refusing to hand over the keys to the armoury in kaduna
Now because it suits ur biased narrative Ifeajuna, Nzeogwu, Oguche, Ademoyega etal who where mostly from Mid-west, South West etc are now Igbos I though most you said there are no Igbos in the Niger Delta? It's a pity that history is not thought in schools that's why kids just talk anyhow.

many of you don't even know what led to the civil war. The war was as a result of the unending killings between hausa/fulanis and ibos after the coup. The coup only had little effect on the civil war.

And this was because of how the Igbos rejoiced over the killing of sardauna.
