I love my Ibadan people. Things are just too cheap in Ibadan . If you make your money and have business in Lagos and you live in Ibadan you will be king.

For people that don’t know there are 30 Naira taxi fare in Ibadan e.g sango to Mokola half way. Same distance on okada will cost you 70 naira . U.I to mokola 100 naira, similar distance in Lagos is close to 300 naira. Ojoo to iwo road on okada is about 200/250 one person (20 minutes at least) In Lagos Ojota to apostolic faith is 200 naira (4 minutes) Ikeja to Alahusa is 500 (10 minutes).

You can buy a life goat for under 12000 naira and it’ll last your family a while, you get a leg of baby goat for same price in Lagos .
Talking of babes. They come more cleaner and prettier in Ibadan than Lagos .
A Lagos girl that lives in Abule Egba face me I face you will suffer you like no tomorrow then empty ya pocket. A cinema date and trip to shoprite will do for a responsible Ibadan babe.
The city is cleaner than Lagos, am Yoruba yes but Lagos has got to be one of the dirtiest city on earth . We have lost it, we need an administration with super iron hands in Lagos.

Hi Guys, this topic seems to come at a very good time. I started working in ibadan Nov 2017 and my work place is located around tollgate area (Leadcity University). I reside at Oremeji Mokola area in my grandparents house (rent free) but i think the time for me to get a place of my own is fast approaching. transporting myself from Mokola to Nasfat Busstop isnt so expensive /stressful compared to Lagos were i worked in prior but i would just like to have my own space
I would like info on self contain/2 bedroom accommodation not too far from toll gate area (challenge , Orita etc...)to help me make my decision.

Maximum 3 bedroom flat in Ibadan 300k? Are you sure you are living in Ibadan? I live in Ojoo, my house rent in a year is 430k. I'm presently on house hunt and the prices are high. Was in Akobo last week, a 3 bedroom flat price was 500k excluding agency fee. Please try and get your facts right.

AKOBO Z EXPENSIVE, ITS AN ESTATE ON ITS OWN, OJOO IS HIGH POPULATED DUE TO UI, BUT STILL I GUESS UR 430K IS SIMPLY THAT THE HOUSE Z 10YRS NEW

I moved to Ibadan from Lagos in 2016, and I have watched things skyrocket since then. I guess both of you are kind of right...his opinion is based on Ibadan of 2011-2015 probably. And you are talking about present Ibadan. By the way, I was living in a 3 bedroom in Ajobo (10 minutes from Ojoo roundabout) between 20016-2018, and was paying 200k per year. I'm talking of a new house...standard everything...water, quality finishing, tiles all round, etc. That same apartment would cost at least 500-700k in Lagos. And in the more accessible parts of Ibadan (Ring Road, Bodija, Dugbe) , it would cost 350-500k, so I understand you. The high influx of people into Ibadan (from Lagos) in the last 5 years have made rent skyrocket.

That house has to be at least 5 years new...I live around that area, and that house has to be really new to cost 430k per annum.

Bro, that is not the definition of 4 rooms that people usually have in mind. Anyway, I'm interested in this your 150k for 3 bedroom that you are talking about. I currently live around Ojoo, and would love to move towards that Molete area. But I want to ask, is there water in the house you are talking about? Even if not that particular apartment, I would love to get a 3 bedroom (all rooms en suite) with water in the next 4-5 months when my rent here expires. Please give me more information.

God bless you jare.
I live in the same city and I was wondering why the person you quoted & the other guy would be quoting those prices as if they know the prices of all houses in Ibadan.
The op is closer to the truth than these other guys are. Location, facilities available, and newness of the properties are the major determinants, and these things are not constant. So, no one can make a big claim about house rents in Ibadan.

@Op.. do you have an idea of house rent/land cost in Aerodrome gra. I've always been interested in that area.

Akala in akobo, you must have 500k at least to rent anything there.
Akobo is expensive and overhyped for no reason. Terrible roads. But they have light there sha though not like it was 2 years ago. Massive migration is being witnessed and hold up na die.
Quick story, I lived in Lagos (Ajah) and I worked in v.i so I complained of the stress and I was transferred to Ibadan where I’m based. I now live in Akobo and work at Akala express, Orita. I spend over 4 hours on the road everyday in ibadan but less than 2 hours in Lagos daily.
Think twice before you consider moving to Ibadan. Everything is just as expensive as Lagos.

Continue lying

That's why I said on the average, I agree house are generally expensive at Akobo and Kolapo Ishola estate but generally accommodation is cheap in Ibadan. Where in IB is your preferable? I could send some agents contacts to you

You are right. Lagos is far dirtier than Ibadan. Ibadan is pretty cheap to live, u can even get N20 taxi from onireke junction to mokola round about etc. okada is N50 for same distance while its equivalent in Lagos will cost say N200 cheapest.
But they say Ibadan means:
I=Ibadan
B=Babes
A=Are
D=Dangerous
A=At
N=Night,
which I don't believe is true. Try Allen Avenue babes for Ikeja in Lagos and you will know the truth.

How can you work in orita challenge/Akala express and live in akobo? Of all the clean/new less expensive residential areas like elebu (5mins drive to orita), progressive estate (3mins), all the oluyole extension, oluyole, everywhere on ring road, challenge and orita. So you didn't see a befitting apartment to live? Maybe You should try relocating and experience peace of mind. God knows I can't deal with traffic.

Hahahaha You are absolutely right o! They treated us like Kings and Queens, I have never experienced the kind of love we were shown befor, never! From time to time we were given food stuffs by our different neighbors (tomatoes, pepper, rice, yam flour, corns, etc) as in ehnnnn...they were so so generous towards us, free rides inclusive and the joy and excitement on their faces each time a corper passed by is beyond this world! We also had a particular rich neighbor, whose grand kids visited our lodge during the day time then later at night we go to their house...a very big house and talk about politics, life, watch TV etc and by the way, I served in Isemi-Ile town, mehn... I wished I could go back again....and the corpers lodge? Oh goodness! Too nice... Honestly, the lodge is so spacious and on point! and we all had one room to ourselves. We were 8 corpers in the lodge. We also cooked and did everything together like a family.
Our NCCF family house is situated at Okeho, PHCN building...i believe they are still there and we used the Winners Chapel for our Sunday fellowship.
Lol I could go on and on really... Loool

Bro u get it wrong here, for the record Ibadan was not a war camp for Alaafin. Ibadan was established around 1820-1829 by the settler know has lagelu, it became powerful bcoz it serve as place of refuge for those was affected by the inter-tribal war in Yoruba land then. The reason people migrate from Ife, Oyo, ijebu and egba was because Notable warriors make the new settlement their place of abode and were less concerned about kingship status but securing their abode an engaging in war. Those settler ended up to become Ibadan indigenes and the migrate.

Note: I am not an Ibadan indigenes but school and presently living and working in Ibadan.

Ibadan was a war camp.
