Unfortunately population itself is supposed to be a, blessing to the, country the same way population is one the major driving factors the Chinese economy,we should be more than glad we have a viable population ,you need to tell your paymasters to invest in human capital development instead of investing in some imaginary rice.

If people have to go hungry SO BE IT! We must now with patience and whatever challenges we encounter, produce our own rice.

Oga, no vex. It was just a simple question that was asked. Where is the rice that is being produced in Nigeria? Is it what you and your family are currently eating. If yes, please point me to the market where I can by the rice cos I've been looking for it since like forever.

Don't try to divert the issue please, just tell us where to buy the rice. I really want to buy and I know most people here would want to buy as well. In that way we will be growing the naira in our own little way don't you think

This is where the issue is, penchant for imported things. Here in agege, there is a variety of local rice at every shop, but alas, the patronage is low as all want to eat the foreign rice. I think the whole palaver about this rice production is not availability but choice. in my local home town, people eat local rice as foreign rice is a luxury. But in a nutshell, anyone who wants to eat local rice can readily get it in local markets, be it Oshodi, Agege, Yabah, Ajah or any market. We keep praising the Asians but are we ready to make the sacrifices as their generations did? We keep hearing of how the Japan and China of this world banned foreign import to achieve self sustainability. of course they paid some sacrifices. It will not be easy as this will take years to come to fruition. But for me, if there is any policy that can reduce importation, then I will gladly support it irrespective of the pains compared to the later gains as a nation.
