It was today I knew my dog was exceptional and very fine. I went to some breeders house and saw their dogs, even my dog looked better than their best lhasa. Apart from being dirty, I was more confident about my dog in comparison to what I saw there. I saw lhasas and lhasas today...

It was also today I discovered that there is short snout lhasa. I know according to the standard breed conformation of lhasa, their snout should be half the length of their head alone(without snout). When they put a short snout dog next to a long snout, I saw the obvious difference. But I know the breed standards of lhasa is more than just the snout, because shi tzu have even shorter snout than lhasa, what if they start crossing shi tzu with lhasas?

My dog currently weighs 12pounds on 5th of April 2019, which is ideal for her age, although she is growing faster than I want. I have to reduce her food and exercise her more.

Something very strange happened just now. My dog let out a sharp cry, when I looked at her, she was looking confused and I saw shit on the floor which is unusual for her. I guess something bite her(maybe a rat), we didn't see anything but her shit on the floor. I don't know if its the shitting that made her cry like that, no idea at all.

So something just happened today. Beverly was sleeping in my room very far from the compound gate(they are at extreme ends) when someone started knocking at the gate. Beverly woke up immediately the person started knocking and was barking, alerting us of the person knocking at the gate.

I have always wondered if my dog really knows her name Beverly. So Beverly was resting under the parlor table,almost asleep. My mum was sitting at the dinning table when she beckoned BEVERLY in a happy voice, and Beverly stood up at once wagging her tail and went to meet my mum. I felt happy realizing that she actually knows her name, I use to think maybe she is dumb.

Something amazing happened today. My sister just came home this night and was dancing for my dog, Beverly stood on her two hindlegs as usual, but this time around she was actually dancing.

I was shocked, she was moving her legs in a dancing manner imitating my sister dance steps, it was amazing, one day I will record this happening and upload it on youtube and post here.

Today is a significant diary update.

I got Beverly a demating comb some days ago, but when I tried using it on her she was growling and I didn't want to get bitten by my dog. Normally she seems to hate being groomed, so today I was determined to use the demating comb come what may.

I placed Beverly on a high place, groomed her as usual with slicker brush, comb and brittle brush. When it was about time to use the demating comb, it was war.

I remembered I got her a muzzler some weeks back. So I got the muzzler and tried placing it on her, it was struggle upon struggle. She growled as expected and almost bite me. I even hit her with my palm out of anger because she was frustrating me, not wanting to wear the muzzler. I persisted and continued to try, this time gentler, without using any force. She kept taking her head away from it moving around in circles, not allowing me, I even used fish to deceive her into putting her muzzle into the muzzler, it took a while before she agreed to put her muzzle in. I failed to tighten it properly, with a little struggle from her, she removed the muzzler herself. Round 2 of struggle started again. I persisted and didn't let her rest, but she kept refusing it, I continued and hope she gets tired and let me do what I want. She eventually she got tired of refusing me and allowed me to gently put the muzzler on her. I tightened it well this time around, and she wasn't able to remove it again.

Then I started using the demating comb, she didn't even growl or attempt to face my hand for a bite, her focus was on removing the muzzler. That's to show that the demating comb was not even painful at all, she just has a very low tolerance of what she can take from me, which means perhaps I have been a little soft on her, or maybe she just wasn't used to the muzzler hence her struggle. I don't believe there is a need for me to wage war with my dog or try to dominate my dog. My dog realises I'm not a dog, that I am a different species from her, so she doesn't look at me as just another dog, but as her God. Hence there is no need for me and her to fight since we aren't competing for anything like food and territory. Fighting with her would only bring myself low to her level and make her to respect me less or worse fear me.

Anyway I was able to use the demating comb conveniently without minding her, she kept struggling tho, and growled a few times. She even bluffed and attempted to bite through the muzzler, but I didn't flinch because I knew she couldn't do anything. She gave up the fight and allowed me to groom her for hours, removing all the tiny bits of Matts and tangles on her I have been dying to remove all these while. I took my time and removed every single one, the demating comb was very efficient, but not as efficient as I imagined, it took time to remove large matt/tangles on her, I used scissors to cut some of them.

Now my only challenge now is how to remove the huge ball of matt right on her muzzle. Yes you heard that right. I don't know how the huge Matt got to her muzzle, I'm in shock. I got back one day and found it there after leaving my dog with my sister just for 2 days.

Anyway, she was panting seriously throughout the grooming because I have never allowed her get stressed for that long before. Eventually I removed the muzzler gave her some fish and let her have some water and pet her.

She was moody for a while, but she couldn't keep malice with me for more than 30 minutes, she started licking my leg under the table , what a forgiving spirit a dog has. I learn a lot from her everyday.

I just hope next time, she wouldn't struggle too much with me grooming her, and I wouldn't have to use a muzzler.

My dog is getting stronger each passing day, there was a time I was taking her for a walk and she started chasing after a boy who was running. She ran so fast that her leash cut, she was the one that broke the plastic lock of the collar.

Today we had a visitor, I had already bought a harness for her so I used it to restrain her. After the visitor entered she pulled the leash of her harness so hard that it removed from under the table's leg I placed it. I had to grab her to restrain her again.

I managed to shave her front hair always covering her eyes. Now I can see her eyes clearly and she looks so cuuuutttteeeeee

No doubt he would do a good job, but money is the koko. I no get money.

So I changed my dog's shampoo to one that conditions. It's actually a 5 in 1 dog shampoo that cleans, conditions, deodorizes, moisturizes and detangles. The shampoo name is nunbell full effect tick and flea shampoo 5-IN-1 pet wash. It was by accident I saw the shampoo when I was looking for one at tabuntabun along abule egba-agege axis. There are lots of pet supplies there, so I have the luxury of choice and the luxury of prices to choose from. I got it for just 3200naira and it's much (680ml)compared to the previous shampoo I got, that just whitens the coat, this one makes my dog's coat softer and more even.

She looks better now that I have started using the shampoo. And she smells great. Combing her is easier now, although some little tangles are still on her, overtime I remove them one by one.

So I took my dog out for her Sunday socialization walks as usual, and I discovered something today.

She was surrounded by many kids as usual, because most of them haven't seen parlor dog before so they want to touch her and play with her. And they follow me everywhere I go with the dog.

So after playing with her in the compound I took her out for her Sunday walks, and then when we came back I was sweaty, took a bath and then decided to comb and brush her. It was the most pleasant grooming I have ever done.

She was so calm and relaxed while I groom her, she didn't even move too much, she didn't try to bite me while grooming her neither did she growl at me, it was totally effortless and enjoyable.

Now I understand why my dog sometimes growls and try to nimble on my hand while I am grooming her, it's not because she hates grooming, it's because she has pent up energy in her, and she thinks I'm playing a game with her when I'm grooming her, because she uses her mouth and teeth while playing with me.

I was able to remove some matts and tangles from her effortlessly without any struggle from her. I hope you learnt from this.

So something just happened this evening. My mum caught Beverly chewing something in her mouth, while I tried to catch her to see what it was, she ran under the bed as usual. Beverly is very mischievous, anytime we try to catch her she runs swiftly under the bed, all the time. She thinks everything is a game.

So my dog just ate a little rat poison.

No I am not stupid enough to deliberately use rat poison when I know I have an indoor dog. It was my mum that insisted on using rat poison instead of rat gum that I told her severally to use, because it's more effective than poison. But no, she wouldn't be reasoned with. I was lucky I caught her in the act, hopefully she didn't eat enough to kill her.

Anyway I took her to a federal vet clinic at Abule egba agege axis, Johnson Agiri Complex, today and they treated her after identifying the rat poison that I took along, I hope she gets better and nothing bad happens to her.

Lmao, she won't die I'm very positive about that. The poisonous agent was warfarin, an anticoagulant, not so lethal compared to other aggressive toxins and she already got the antidote, a coagulant and other injections...

You won't even need to kill me, because I will just kill myself if she does But no killing, nobody is dying.
