Not directly, but it (overpopulation) is a major contributor.

Its not a popular fact given its sensitivity, but it must be said all the same: too many poor people are giving birth to far too many children.

Is it proper that my former maiguard who makes just about 15k having 7 children just because its his right?

It may not be as drastic as the one child policy but we need to tackle the population issue head on. Personally we should have a cap of no more than 3/ family

That's a communist ideology! Population is never our problem: If I say corruption, you'll say it's hackneyed! Our major problem is lack of planning! Check our planning experience since independence. REV. T. Malthus (1898) posited that population will grow at geometric progression, while the means of subsistence(food) will grow at Arithmetical progression! So, it's incumbent on any responsible govt to plan ahead with their Census figure! In Nigeria, Census is politicized in order to gain more revenue allocation from the centre!
