I recall a friend who was once travelling to Lagos. On the way, he was pulled over by the shitty police. They asked him where he was going to to which he replied he was going to sokoto grin one of the police men screamed, 'oga! na sokoto road be this?' and my friend replied, 'officer, I thought there was freedom of movement in Nigeria? It doesn't matter which road I choose to follow, what matters is that I'm on my way to sokoto!' Next thing they said was, 'oya, open your booth, wetin de inside'. Meanwhile he had some bunches of plantain in his booth. Soon as he opened, one of them looked into the booth and obviously saw the bunches of plantain but still stu.p.idly asked, 'wetin be this?' my friend looked at him and with a straight face answered, 'yam' grin at this point the policeman, who wasn't expecting that, was clearly taken aback and agitated. He went further to query him, 'no be plaintain I de look so?'......as calmly as he could, my friend replied, 'oh! you guys call it plantain? in my village we call it yam' grin grin grin the policeman was so very annoyed already and screamed at him, 'your head no correct!! oya carry your madness comot from my front now now!!'

We really need to take this approach, but unfortunately not everyone has the energy for this rigorous process. The Nigerian police is rotten to the core.
It's not about Energy. You can't pull this move if you don't have the looks (wealthy/influential) to go with it.

You carry one weak mercedes 180 come dey talk ask your boys to escort me to station bros you go see Oba that day.

I think his real intention was to find something that'll make you want to bribe them. Who wouldn't want to just bribe and continue his or her journey?
Suggesting they follow you to the nearest police station was smart, following you will be a total waste of time because the next Driver might drop money. It'd be better for them to reserved that energy.

it beats my imagination how we insult our police... but we live in a country where millions have accepted yahoo yahoo as a decent career .

That is words and opposite. As long as we keep supporting these politicians, as long as we find ways to justify fraud, our police remains a saint!

what's wrong to observe protocols?
So police stopping cars for no reason other than random search for luck in finding whose vehicle is outdated is protocol?

If police dont check particulars and stay at check points, then when your car is stolen just say bye bye.. we need reforms and not outright cancellation

I remember when IGP MD Abubakar (dangote's in-law) Stopped Road blocks, check points and highway patrol, we celebrated and the kidnapers, highway bandits, one chance drivers all rejoice too and they showed us there is no vaccum in power, police leaves a spot, criminals take over.

.
dont mind them. Look at the op before u, calling police names. If u check properly, he maybe among those supporting yahoo yahoo or into it, or those supporting Buhari or Atiku or Tinubu, etc. Nigerians are so funny.

U expect the police to act like American police when u support people like Tinubu, Atiku, Buhari, etc. It will never work.

Is the Nigerian police not made up of Nigerians and operating in Nigeria which has been accepted by the most responsible public servant as being filled with fantastically corrupt hypocrites who make the country a shittyhole nation headed by a lifeless fellowhuh
A sound mind exists in a healthy body. So also a rotten police can only exist in a shittyhole country. QED!
When we are ready to take action consistently in a persistent manner, we will fix our country and our police. cheesy wink

Smart guy. Not only outsmarted the police men but also invented an antidoic to road side police bribery. Anyone who applies this same logic will be let go freely by the police.
Guy...look at that guy very well. From the picture, he is well-to-do. He must have been driving a luxury car. Try the same logic with your golf 2 and they will all gladly follow you to their station and even after showing them a complete particulars, you will be detained for "wasting their time" and "interruption of their (lawful) duty".

dont mind them. Nigerians are known to be oppressive. They dont like to obey laws.

Like our politicians, like our masses. We are all the same. We dont want to obey simple laws..

we want to cut corners.. we want to legalize fraud, we see fraud as been smart. Very nonsense country with rotten system.

A country where many mothers help their kids cheat in waec, jamb, etc. A country where many mothers now go to native doctors on behalf of their yahoo yahoo sons. A country where ladies know u are a fraudster but will happily date u..

Aswear, Nigerians do not have the moral rights to expect the police or military to be better, becus we arent either.
