Edo is not an ethnic group, it's just a political cum geographical structure, what's the name of your ethnic group cos I know there are many in Edo.
I am from Esan, on of the three major ethnic groups of Edo state. Some call us Ishan.

Thanks, so next time try and specify and don't just call Edo a tribe, moreover your tribe and the Igbos have no link or historical ties, the Bini was the mention so exclude yourself ok?

I just understood something. Those of you claiming that Edo is close to the Igbos are obviously Igbos trying to dreg themselves with the Edos. That being said.
You want me to answer abi? okay I will, first tell me which part of Edo you are from. Meanwhile, let me educate you a little.

Yeah, The Edo I was referring to there is bini.

The great bini kingdom shares no tie whatsoever with Igbo. Any relationship that exist between Niger Delta and Igbo is as a result of the handwork of the colonists.

Even Onitsha that claim to be ascended from the great Bini kingdom were simply neighbours that lived within it environs and later travelled eastward.

know your history, better still ask men from your hometown who have seen it all.

Thank you.

Are you this daft and slow minded that you can't grasp a point, I told you and I repeat, neither Edo nor Niger delta is an ethnic group, they're just a political creation.

Talk of your own tribe which is esan and leave the binis to talk theirs.

Any people on earth has origin, if you're a bit confused on yours sorry, everyone isn't like you, some people know their origin, if you're unable to give a clear definition of your people's origin how then will you be able to talk of that of other people?

First you're not bini or Igbo or what's the fuss all for. In a layman's language - wetin concern you?

Bringing insult to a discussion that that is for trading knowledge.

In which part of my comment did I throw a shade of insult at you?

Well I don't like trading insults on nairaland because it seems very juvenile to me.

Maybe what I said about some Igbos claiming to be Edos struck a nerve...

Just so you know, I know my origin, and since you know yours, why don't you tell me.

I'm sorry if you consider my comments an insult. But take it or leave it, there's a historical ties between the Igbos and binis, take it to the bank.

The Edo I am referring to is Edo state, formerly Bini kingdom.
I think you are talking about the Bini people( Edo people).

Are you denying the fact that Igbos are thieves and drug dealers?

Stop repeating this old debunked cliche lines. Igbos are very United. Igbos always have unions where ever they go and support each other.

Nigerians are very funny. If igbos unite and fight for their common interests, you say they are tribalists but when they act on individual instincts, you say they are not united.

Since I came to the conclusion that no matter what Igbos do, people will complain. I have finally stop caring about what Nigerians say or think.

You guys are known to be good in many things but unity...your unity comes only when it time to promote your culture and there is nothing juicy to benefit. They are disunited when it comes to supporting their own in the political arena..that is when you will see the pull him down syndrome .

Other ethnic group have been known to keep aside their differences and support any candidate chosen from their ethnic group but the Igbo ethnic group are not known to be united because everyone will claim to be better than the other person and more deserving of that position.

An asaba man will bear Igbo name and dress Like Igbo but will deny he's not igbo, is that not madness.

When they commit crime they are all Igbo's and when they do good things, they are delta igbos, Edo Igbo's, akwa ibom Igbo's.

Something needs to be done about this.
No asaba man will ever deny igbo, is most by those ika agbor people that are confused, they will answer igbo names with igbo language and will say they are not igbo
