Are you trying say that a person must be a citizen of a country to own and manage investments in that country? Do you know the level of investment the international community has in Nigeria? So if Igbos exit Nigeria tomorrow, why would their investments be threatened? The same international law that protects the investment of the international community in Nigeria will also apply when and if Igbos leave Nigeria.

Do you know what happened to people's investment outside of the south east after the civil war.
Igbos even lost their properties in neighboring Port Harcourt not to talk of the core North.
If not that a referendum is not in the Nigerian constitution, you would have seen how the referendum will fail woefully because of the diversity of the Igbos.
And the only way there will be a referendum is if the constitution is amended. And with the way Kanu is going, that is not going to happen. If you think the UN will compel a sovereign nation to go against their constitution, then think again.
If we had a regional government, it could have been easier for the south eastern region to declare independence, just like Catalonia did 2 years ago, yet all their fight for independence over the years has failed woefully and they are still a part of Spain.
