I’ve learnt very long ago that statistics can be skewed/ manipulated to suit the need of whoever is preparing it.

All this is to condition the subconscious mind of the unsuspecting populace towards a greater future cause.

So they are basically telling us that life in nigeria is worse than life in Syria or Zimbabwe or even Venezuela as it is at the moment or even Palestine where Israel has blocked all land, air and sea access to the people in that area basically locking them in a real life prison.

My level of exposure won’t allow me the stupidity to believe all this propaganda aimed at programming the mind of the people.
Oga... if you are not a health care affiliate you may not understand how bad things are in Nigeria. Just so you know, Nigeria has the highest maternal and infant mortality rate in the world at 840 deaths per 1000 live births. infant mortality rate is also one of the highest in the world. These statistics alone makes it ominous that our life expectancy will be very unimpressive. We only make up for these many deaths with our high fertility of about 5.5 children per woman which is also one of the highest in the world. The NDHS has helped in getting these data and hospital records whether at a PHC or teaching hospitals are kept judiciously in recent years. Nonetheless, I have an impression that these reports may still be underestimates. Think about this... in 2016, I was an intern at a secondary health care centre that has a Heart2heart centre. I the numbers of HIV positive individuals who were recorded was alarming. Many of these persons did not come for a HIV test. But a free HIV test was included in the test done all individuals who were recorded for other kinds of blood tests. From my impression almost 90 percent of those who tested positive never knew they were HIV positive prior to the test.

Out of all the countries on earth, it's only Nigeria that the U.N are manipulating their reports abi? Better grow up.

There was war in Syria n Palestine, But have u noticed that these countries are so organized to the extent that they have ambulance services that are very effective? After each explosion of gun fight, ambulances will rush in and take the survivors to the hospital, a feat Nigeria cannot even achieve in the time of peace.

Boko haram n herdsmen alone has driven over 3 million nigerians to IDP camps because of nigerias very weak military.

Over 25 million degree holders in Nigeria are loitering the streets daily unemployed.

Another 25 million youths without university education are roaming the streets unemployed.

The prices of food in Nigeria is very expensive.

Nigeria has one of the worse hospitals on earth. Zero advanced medical equipments drive millions of Nigerians (including the president) abroad for better medical care.

Tens of thousands of Nigerian doctors, nurses n pharmacists rush out of Nigeria every year.

Nigeria is the poverty capital of the world.

Nigeria has one of the worse road networks on earth.

A large chunk of Nigeria has no access to clean water.

Nigeria has one of the highest Mother n infant mortality rates on earth.

Boko haram has killed so much Nigerians to the extent that we have stopped counting such killings for security reasons.

Armed robbery in Nigeria has become a norm.

UN nations also gave false statistics on all that I just listed?

He has to fed for himself, his parents, his siblings, his children, his wife(wives),his in-laws, his kinsmen. He has to be present in all marriage and burial ceremonies invited or not. He has to go to court over a land dispute between his kinsmen. Most black men are polytheists. They are Christians/Muslims and Pagans, so they have a lot of time and money to spend on religion and traditional rites.

The United Nations (UN), has revealed that Nigeria's life expectancy is the third lowest in the world in its new report released on Monday. According to the United Nations Population Fund(UNFPA), Nigeria's life expectancy which is the third lowest in the world in 2019 is placed at 55 years.

It was further learnt that the life expectancy of an average Nigerian in 2019, is only better than those of people in Sierra Leone, Chad and the Central African Republic. The three countries have respectively 53, 54, 54 years as their life expectancy rates, the report states. War-torn Afghanistan has 65 years; Somalia has 58; and Syria has 73.

Back to the topic, Did the UN also say that tens of millions of Nigerians are unemployed?

Did the UN also rumour that Nigerian president and millions of her citizens go abroad yearly because of the terrible medical equipments n poor medical services we have here?

Do u also need the UN to confirm to u that there is presently huge hunger and poverty in Nigeria?

Do u need the UN to tell u that boko haram, Bandits, Herdsmen, armed robbers n kidnappers have taken over Nigeria?

The definition of life expectancy has nothing to do with life been worse in other countries, life expectancy is more dependent on demographic factors, the environment and general conditions of living which causes people to die at an certain age(on an average) in a particular country.

Nigeria is rated low in almost every good thing because of the north. No good thing comes from them. They are the one drawing us back.
This is actually mostly true.
However, the South has its own issues too. Nigeria's reputation for scam which gives us a really bad rep is mostly due to the activities of Southerners.

I naturally dont like replying this type of comment becus i know ur type. But sadly, u arent exposed as claimed. See, FRSC released a report and said about 1500 Nigerians died in road accident within three months!

Now, i know that is not even the actual figure. Most of those who died are less than 50 years. The rate Nigerians die, aside countries fighting war, it is rare to see any other country citizens die like that..

Do u see how fulaniherdsmen slaughter people? These people they kill are less than 50 years. There are many unreported cases. My babe schooled in delta and i know many times she told me how funaliherds men attacked a nearby community, kill at least 6 persons but such was never reported..

Few weeks ago, my friend called me and said robbers came to houses in their street, and robbed but injured about 15 persons with machetes. On the way to hospital, four died, no one reported such death..

All of the victims were less than 50.

How about people killed by ritualists? Many are not reported daily. I lived close to police head quarters sometime in the past and I know the rate they were bringing victims of ritual and kidnapping..

Then, many Nigerians use self medication due to lack of accessible health care system. Many people prescribe drugs by themselves.. Many people have heart issues but dont know. They suddenly die. Few days ago, a young corps member just died few days after his traditional wedding..

many people in Nigeria are living dead! Why? No clean water, no proper health checkups, no quality health care that is affordable. The good hospitals are usually crowded..

Baba, that report is even fair enough. It is worse for men, men die like chicken here.. In fact death has become a normal news in Nigeria. No wonder u hear report of 50 persons died in an attack and everyone goes about with their business..

I actually planned to ignore quotes and mentions but yours caught my attention.

It is a well known fact that in the US, 1 in every 10 black child won’t live to celebrate their 25th birthday they are always killed in gun related violence. Either gang wars, drug wars or stray bullet. Has the UN collated any data that reduces the life expectancy rate of and average black man in the US? NO.

Aljazeera while exposing an Australian politician lobbying the US NRA for funds and support in exchange for relaxing the Australian gun laws in the aftermath of the Christchurch(NZ) shooting, brought up a report that 37,000 people were killed in 2017 ALONE due to gun related violence in the US alone. The guardian put the figure at 40,000 https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/dec/13/us-gun-deaths-levels-cdc-2017

40,000! that is more than bokoharam, Fulani herdsmen and armed militias have killed in Nigeria in 3years combined.

Then we talk about accident deaths (high in the US)
Cancer deaths (high in the US)
Deaths from Hearth related disease(2,626,418) 2014 alone. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/the-leading-causes-of-death-in-the-us/

Deaths from Gun violence(40,000 in a year) does not even rank among the top ten in the US?

Remind me again what the life expectancy rate is in the US? 78 years.

Abeg make them tell us something else. This was their aim and the achieved it. They appealed to your sentiments with cooked up statistics.

NB: not replying anyone. I will only reply anyone that can give me the source of the data they used for their computation. If you cannot, don’t expect my reply.

Why would the UN be expected to single out black men in the US for consideration? Did they single out any such subsection of the Nigerian population for such treatment? The statistics they provide are of the same character for all countries surveyed, an aggregate of the life expectancy over the entire population in each country: just because the results aren't at all flattering to Nigeria doesn't justify the sort of special-pleading you're trying to carry out here.

In any case, there's no reason to assume that playing along with your game would get you the results you want. One could just as easily ask how long the life expectancy is for the worst-off 20th percent in both the USA and Nigeria, and the figures would probably come out even more terrible for Nigeria than they already are - maybe in the low-mid 40s for the poorest northern states.

The brutal, ugly truth about Nigeria is that nearly everything about the country is a total shambles, almost as if the country's leaders had set their minds on doing the worst job possible. That average life expectancy is among the lowest in the world should therefore come as no surprise, in a country whose President has so little faith in even his own dedicated clinical facilities that he flies to London for even routine medical care. What then for the average Nigerian who doesn't even have affordable access to a qualified nurse, let alone a doctor?

Let's start with electricity, how much has been the budget from the government by each government on power generation in the last 20 years only each year?
In this generation, Nigeria do not have to invent anything, it is just to buy, install and maintain BUT guess what, this will probably never happen because those that are making billions importing generators are same people that are funding the campaign of the leaders, or you mean to tell me that it is that complicated to give light to the people?
Give 24 hours by 7 days a week constant light and the issue with Nigeria is reduced by 60%
By the way, no one in their right mind will tell the government to fix all these in 4 years, but at least start something so that the people will know you are working or that you care about the people
But in a country where even the leaders think light is luxury for the people, then, we already have misplaced priority . . . All these nonsense about recurring expenditure, give me a reason why they need all the states created or all the LGA, why can't they consolidate and make something happen . . .
Till the people stand up against the government, the government won't even know why they have been elected or should i say enforced on the people?

Let's start with electricity, how much has been the budget from the government by each government on power generation in the last 20 years only each year?
In this generation, Nigeria do not have to invent anything, it is just to buy, install and maintain BUT guess what, this will probably never happen because those that are making billions importing generators are same people that are funding the campaign of the leaders, or you mean to tell me that it is that complicated to give light to the people?
Give 24 hours by 7 days a week constant light and the issue with Nigeria is reduced by 60%

You mean all these family men and women to rise up against the government? For how many days or weeks? Abi you want the nation to starve? Let me tell you one sad truth, the federal government of Nigeria cannot afford (and do not have the money) to instal and erect the infrastructure needed to generate full electricity coverage of the country FACT!

Are you aware that if you produce any meaningful amount of electricity in Nigeria, BY LAW you have to connect it to the national grid for distribution. This is what has prevented states like Lagos from creating its own electricity generating capacity! May be changing that law is a good place to start from.
