Hello justwise and people in the house,Iamgrey5, Kombast, Mimicle101, and @ Andrew444. I have been silently following this thread for a very long time and I have learnt lots on this forum regarding the process, and steps by steps on how to obtain South Africa visa.
I’m having a serious problem and I want the house to help me out.

I submitted my tourist visa using the VIP section on 25th of March at vfs lagos centre. My question is this.
I lost my reference number through my phone and this has been difficult for me to track my application, so i had to travel from osun state ( Ile-Ife ) to vfs Lagos centre along with the photocopy of my international passport but I wasn’t allow to go in by the security mobile police and nothing yet in my email nor phone calls. Pls house how can I go about this.

This is the 6th weeks and next week will make it 7th weeks pls house am fed up

But how could they not allow you in? Atleast they could have told you the necessary steps to follow to get ur concern sorted.

If they don't allow him in then how do people who don't pay for courier service get their passport back ?

You can ask that again.
Because laws are made for good and not for bad.

A security personnel could escort him in to get assisted. And believe me that wont cost anything.

I honestly dislike how we treat ourselves in these country with no remorse.

Does the backlog affect tourist applicant also?

Hmmmm, I'm not sure. It was particularly about the Study Permit.

Guys, let us respect their procedure. They are not saying he cannot go in. They are saying he needs his original passport (not photocopy) before he can go in. There are lots of places like that in the world where even a certified copy will not work, only the original.

If he told them that he submitted his passport, they would probably ask for the receipt, and once they see that, they should allow him in.

Please in the case he lost his receipt? And the original passport is with the vfs/embassy

What so u think he should do?

(Note: that is a public service center. And personally myself I dont have problem with there rule. Hence I say rules are made for betterment and not other way round. And that's why I did mentioned atleast a security personnel can walk him in to get help or better stil advice him how to go about getting help if they must never allow him in. Am sure if they did advice him on what to do he wouldn't be here in NL seeking for help

Bros that's what I said there is no way they won't allow him go in as far he got his receipt

How can someone hold original passport when he submitted it for visa, does that make sense ?

Anybody that submit for visa can't hold his passport

Now I am asking how do people get back their passport when it's ready people that don't pay for courier service ?

He would have said he is not with his receipt then I will understand not them telling him to bring original passport

@andrew444, I’m thinking of going back next week if nothing comes out tomorrow or Friday. The tall (black) slim mobile police said it was the order he received to extent that he said we shouldn’t rest on the barricade chain or stand around including those who were waiting for their families or friends

Boss! Pls, what type of Visa did you applied for?
Because I couldn't imagine mine own visa was rejected on account of date passed and yours was granted.

I'm a bit confused now & I don't understand how this embassy people are even handling stuffs, because I don't know what my fate will be even if I re-apply again.... I hope they won't be saying: event passed again!

I applied to vacation in SA. So, somehow, even if the March 15 travel date wasn't workable...my purpose for traveling was open-ended, meaning a man can tour SA anytime.

If yours was for an event with a strict start and end date, then they wouldn't see any justification for issuing the visa since technically, the event has passed.

I know the delay is their fault which they ought to have apologized for, but if an event has passed, visa purpose is defeated.

Next time when you're applying for an event, give like 10 weeks apart to apply so you can give allowance for visa processing delays.

Best wishes!

So, I've been checking this forum since I applied for my SA visa and I've "tapped" a lot for future use since I had submitted before discovering this forum.

Here's my experience:

Visa Type: Tourist
Drop off: VFS Abuja
Submission date: March 1
Passport return date: April 23
Duration: 7 weeks sharp
Visa: Yes
Call? No call

Best wishes to those still waiting...

7 days make a week, so 7 times 7 weeks is 49 days, but as i calculated from his date of submission its 53 days
