good day please i have a question with regards to student visa application. i am applying for a student visa to study in The university of Tasmania, Msc Social works, i am currently engaged and my lady will be coming over also to study in a few months time, i wanted to know if getting married before applying for the visa will be to our advantage or not. Secondly, i will be 31 by the end of the year, what are my chances of securing a PR through skilled occupation with this course? i have a Bsc in Intelligence and Security Studies from a private University in Nigeria and scored an overall of 7.5 in my IELTS LSRW 8.0, 8.5, 7.0, 7.0 I know i will have to retake d test in two years but strongly believe that i can do better. Thanks

Greetings to the gurus in the house, am applying for master of education in early childhood but it has a clause that it does not provide an initial recognized qualification for teaching. My first degree is in biology education, please I want to know if this can help me gain a PR and if not, is there something I can do during the process of my study to gain a qualification that will give me an edge towards gaining a PR. Please put me through. Mr WestAfrica and others I need your candid wealth of experience here.

Good morning my nland friends.

Background; my wife was granted visa for MSc February 9th 2018, we (my self and 2 kids) applied as subsequent entrant(dependent Visa) August 26 2018, we were refused about 2 months later, we reapplied Nov 22, 2019. It’s over 5 months and the imni page still reads further assessment.

Our first application was done by our agent(PFL Ibadan), who performed badly because she didn’t add the necessary documents despite asking her severally “what Else should I bring/add” She’ll say am good. I sort of believed her because she was the agent we used for my wife’s application. To my greatest shock we were refused. I work here as a doctor with about 10years experience, I earn over 500k(gross) , I was promoted twice in the last 3 years, all these were absent in the first application but included in the last application.

We have sent them mail twice and they responded that it is still under consideration.

Dear Solitin, Albion and other veterans in the house. What else do we need to do please, thank you.

The Visa is coming out positive this week , I believe. Only God would take the glory

Thanks veterans in anticipation of your contributions

Yes of course
It's all on the website
Search for studying in Australia with your family. And it's a huge expense.

If you have scholarship, deduct your expenses and you would only have to show theirs, about 7200AUD for your partner and about 3000 AUD for each child. Check exact value on line. If you have no scholarship, you will show about 21000aud+next semester tuition+airfare for each person going.

Or you can show 70,000Aud without calculating.

Leo... pele, doh... I understand, waiting for subsequent is alot of work, but it is closer than farther. As you know, no one can give you first hand information about what's going on. But I believe you only a consolation. And that's that it will turn out for your favour. It looks good that why it MIGHT have taken long. If they do not find it enticing, they could have dismissed the application earlier. So, let's wait for it.

However, I hope you have a good plan for when you come to Australia, especially if you intend to leave your job without passing their own licensing exams yet...etc.

All the best. I will join you in prayers too.
We should really start a thread for subsequent entrance visas too.

Presently subsequent visa is a 50/50 thing, i am sure your first denial wasn't the fault of your agent, just that there is high rate of partner visa denial recently. The surest way is applying initially together or if there is an avenue for visa extension then include your spouse. A lot of people are in your shoe, some as far back as October still on the waiting list while I know of some that extended his visa in March and included his partner, she has been given the go ahead for medical. Just be prayerful.

The honest truth is that the reason why you were denied isn't because of the agent but that's the present situation of getting dependent visa. So many people that came into Australia since 2 years are on that shoe. Getting dependent visa now is not even up to 1% guaranteed. But all I can say to you is be prayerful and believe.

Now my advice to future applicants, make sure you apply for your student visa together with your family or else, you might dance to the same tune as people already here.

Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Tee79(f): 4:35pm On May 05, 2019
Why not go for 489 visa first. South Australia is currently nominating poultry farmer for 489. When you get your 489 visa, then you can do your masters after pr. It is easier than going with a student visa.

Good afternoon house, please I want you to kindly educate me:
I work in a Nigerian commercial bank and so couldn't get a job role for PR. Besides I am around 41 years of age at the moment. Because of this, I am deciding to explore school routes now. I wish to go for M.Sc Finance in Australia, January 2019 admission through a school agent.
With this decision, am I good for it in terms of PR in view? Also, if given admission, should I apply for visa together with my family of 5? Is there possibility of gaining PR when I get there considering my age of 41 now?

Perhaps you explore Canadian routes to PR. I dont know much about it tho. There are just so many hurdles conidering your circumstance.
I'm no expert but your chances of getting even a student visa is slim.

If SA is nominating your occupation, then go and study there. State nomination is easier for international students. Apply for PR onshore.

Don't look at that. 489 visa is better. It is better you apply now because there will be no 489 visa come November.

No need to ask, go for the PR 489 and when you travel start schooling, if your Uncle is willing to pay more than 6million for you, consider how much you would save enrolling as a domestic student.

@Mzsho

I think applying with spouse and kid also depends on school rating not sure though, what school did you apply to? plus i need advice on how to continue my application with wife and kid, am yet to apply for visa but i had already filled in all school forms that am going alone. should i call the school and tell them about my change of plan before i apply for visa or i should just go ahead and pay OSHC for them and include them in the visa application.
