Happy Sunday foodies

Please I have a question that has been bothering me. I want to become a professional chef but the money for culinary school is not within my budget and most of the schools here in Nigeria don't offer scholarship.

How do one get to work under a chef? I don't know the procedure. Please someone with experience should help me out

Below is another cake I baked

I almost made banga today but I chickened out and made something I was more familiar with. I’ll watch YouTube 3 more times and then try it sometime next week cheesy
Banga is easy to make. The issue is the mashing and extraction of the juice

I have the canned juice.

Fresh banga is not readily available to me

What kind of cooking are you interested in? Nigerian cuisine?
Some good restaurants and well run fast foods might be a place to start if you’re interested in working temporarily in their kitchen to gain some experience and learn new recipes. You can find ones that don’t require you to be an expert in cooking in order to work for them.

What would you eat with these pancakes?

I had mine with a drizzle of maple syrup and plain scrambled eggs.

Someone in this house likes his with a bucket of syrup.

“Excuse me sir, would you like some pancakes with your syrup?”

You will do just fine jor. Just make sure you have all your ingredients intact before you start. ALL, as they have some spices they use. There's a recipe on Dooney's kitchen somewhere on the internet. So check different people's recipes, then YouTube.
I like using fresh fish atimes, with prawns. Banga also goes well with rice, so it can serve as both soup and stew
Abeg, tag me when its ready.

I prefer you raise money and attend any school of your choice and become your own boss, or search for any eatery and work with them for few years and have more skill, before thinking of establishing yours. Nice Cake

Bros I dey o! Long time ...

Sorry about your rice .

Next time, if you wan cook am, make the water just dey a little above the rice, then from there, you go dey check the rice from time to time to see if e need more water, until the rice done as you like

Rice cooks differently according to the type, so it's safe to start with not so much water

Also let the water boil before you put in the rice whether you are parboiling or not. It helps the rice to come out fine and not be soggy.

And as mariangeles rightly said, start with little water and top as you check.

Thank you.

I'm interested in Pastry and baking art. I tried one good fast food, the head chef said the fee is 350k o. I was shocked.

I'm not a chef, I just cook like an average person does. I don't think this requires a recipe, just pick your beans and cook.

Why don't you buy a carton of fish or meat and send to him? your question is highly irrelevant, if he or she decides to supplement with crayfish or shrimps it's not your business. You and the other kid that are trying to embarrass the poster are very childish.
