Remember that the North is not just a piece of land, it is the biggest Kingdom amongst the seven kingdoms, it is strong and has the largest single kingdom Armies amongst the seven kingdoms. In fact after the Capital the next powerful kingdom is the North(Winterfell) so how could she would have ignored the North when she still needs more allies(Kingdoms) to support her claim. Don't blame her because it went the opposite, if been it went positive for her you would have praised her for her decision. Don't take it away from the Night King and his armies, they were fearsome and deadly that if not checked and raised war with everyone would have been like them.
I am sure that in episode 5 Jon Snow and the armies in the North, the Starks and even the free folks that left would all come back to support Dany and in that case Jon Snow would be commanding all of them and possibly take the iron seat. Checkmate

there were a few issues though.

What is Varys's problem gangangan? How can he say Jon Snow is a better ruler than Danaerys? Where has he seen Jon rule before?

Also what is this realm he keeps talking about? Since when has Westeros been truly ruled by one king? Westeros is a federation, and realistically the iron throne only really 'rules' Kings Landing...so why does he keep talking about millions of people ffs? His motivation makes no sense.

An omniscient plot device like Bran creates more plot holes for the writers than the plot twists he was intended to make. A similar reason why JK Rowling had to ditch the Time Turner and the Marauder's Map at some point in the Harry Potter series. Bran sees the past and present everywhere in the realms of Men. The best thing they should have done was to make him seek solitude in a big tree like the previous 3ER.

The Missandei issue is surprising too. She was born on an island so she most likely could swim to safety. She was probably knocked unconscious when she went below deck during the attack.

Good-guy Varys. I have always hated Varys (books or show). He wants what's best for the realm, but only when his chosen monarch sits on the Iron Throne. Helps Aerys when Rhaegar was making plans to depose him. Sells Dany to Drogo like some slave. Does not tell Cat or Ned that Littlefinger was lying about the Valyrian blade. Does not tell anyone that Littlefinger whispered to Joffrey about killing Ned until it was too late. But it's all for the realm, because so long as a Targ(Blackfyre in the books) ends up sitting on the throne, the realm can go to shits meanwhile. He's the series' largest hypocrite.
