Following the creation of four new emirates by Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, the Emir of Kano's daughter, took to Instagram to bare her mind. In the post which has, though been taken down but reposted by her sister, Princess Fulani Siddika, Shahida described Governor Ganduje as "Kano's worst curse" In yet another post, Shahida wrote "The moment a king decides to restrict himself for fear of losing power, he dethrones himself..." Obviously in agreement with the whole post, Fulani Sidikka, wrote: "I don't have anything more to say actually! I still don't understand why people are crying over the governor's actions. Years ago, the Russian monarch was abolished completely. There are so many monarchs that have been abolished even by way of revolution. There are certain things the masses can't do alone then it takes the handiwork of one man to accomplish. If the actions of the governor will probably bring a new way to things in kano then let it run its course. The entire North and middle belt is riddled with either boko haram or herdsmen and there's no single traditional ruler who have actually spoken against it without sentiments. I used to fear and respect traditional institutions a lot because I know they are embodiment of history. They are one of the things that preserve our culture and make us remember how we started after all. Now that that of Kano has been run down by an ordinary governor, I hope other governors won't follow suit and before we know it, no more culture in Nigeria. Though all these kingship might have lost it's purpose and misused, yet, I still believe they are necessary. Unfortunately, Kano people themselves voted Ganduje, so they should deal with whatever comes out of it, I would be more happy if almajiri system is also attacked like this... Am not surprised at all, Sanusi once said his duaghter slaped a suitor that came to him to ask for his daughters hand in marriage and he refered them to her only for the Gentle man to get slapped, and Sanusi gladly said it publicly... If the 40 members of Kano assembly could order for the probe of your Fathers Emirate about some descripances in its treasury several months ago, and The then Acting President Osinbajo and Alhaji Aliko Dangote had to step in to supercede , shouldnt such king be very careful . 3 Likes 1 Share |
