He shouldn't even make the preliminary squad list self... in addition to Osimhen and Onuachu, I'll prefer we give Nwaekeme, Odey and Blessing Ekele a chance..

Is Nwaekeme a striker?

Yeah! Odey and Blessing Ekele are doing well in the Switzerland league but I think Awoniyi also doing well in the same Belgium league with Osimhen.

Anyway, I don't think Ighalo will miss the tournament.

Awoniyi is doing well no doubt but he hasn't been consistent like the rest...he just hit form in January...
it's the u-23 team he will play for

May God punish you Sir. You hate the SE with all your heart.

You will rather pick a proven useless flop who cannot even trap a ball than the highest scoring player in the entire qualifying series. Ighalo virtually qualified us singlehandedly to this AFCON, scoring a hattrick and creating goals out of nothing, yet you publicly celebrate his injury. And you call yourself an SE fan.

Shame on you Sir. May a worse fate than Ighalo's injury befall you in the nearest future.

Joke? It didn't look like a joke to me oh.

Anyways, celebrating the injury of any national team player is simply evil. Even as a joke.

Ilori is in the same shoe with Rose Barkley.. People who have little or no connection with Nigeria..

Are you his father, mother or brother to tell us that he is interested in playing for us?
Not everybody asslick foreign born players like u do here...

At least Udohaki and Tonnoarugha have indicated that they are still open to playing for Nigeria.. to the best of my knowledge, then NFF hasn't bought a home for their scouts to be begging Udohaki and Tonnouarigha everyday...

And finally, why do u think it is the responsibility of the NFF to be approaching every foreign born Nigerian player? If we are to count the foreign born Nigerian footballers out there, they could be up to a thousand! A few hundred of them could be playing at professional level .how would ghr NFF approach all of them? How would the NFF position it's scouts to identify all of them?
Shouldn't these players speak out too so we should notice them?
Has Tiago ever spoken about Nigeria?

You are lying. Rose Barkley wanted to play for Nigeria despite the fact he had strained relationship with his father.

Did Tiago Ilori have strain relationship with his father?

Did his father abandoned him like Ross father did?

Did Tiago Ilori changed his name to his mother's name?

You don't know anything about people but you come here on public forum to declare authoritatively that Tiago Ilori is not connected to Nigeria.

How did you know?

Nobody knows anybody's family here, so stop pretending you know.

When did I say Tiago Ilori is interested in playing for Nigeria? Show me.

I said approach Tiago Ilori the same way NFF approached Jordan Torunarigha, Kevin Akpoguma and Felix Uduokhai who never for once showed interest to play for Nigeria prior to the time they were approached.

Is that too difficult for you to understand?

Exactly! They indicated to play for Nigeria after they were FORMERLY APPROACHED.

Why didn't NFF extend the same gesture to Tiago Ilori when he was in the spotlight?

It is the duty of NFF to approach players that are eligible to play for Nigeria. Especially when a player is in the spotlight.

What is that you can't understand?

He said Top 9 not false 9 .. I won't play Musa as a top9 but would definitely play him as a false9 .. His has the ability to play that role well...energy,pace,skill,good work rate.. and he can create goal scoring chances too..

Play Musa as a false9 with Onyekuru(an inverted winger) on the left and Chukwueze(a left footed RW) on the right and u will see goals flowing!!

Its a shame we have a tactically clueless manager who doesn't know how to utilize the talents at his disposal

Sorry I meant top 9

Has musa done well in a top 9 before ?

Have musa been played there before ?

If ighalo is not playing osimhen should be the number 9 nothing like musa there

Not true. Nwaekeme functions as a winger mostly. Even this season, he played as a Left winger. We don't need to convert a winger to a striker when there are b
many better options.

Awoniyi's stats as a striker is even more impressive than Nwaekeme as a striker.

No true, Awoniyi has been consistent lately after he left Gent. 8 goals and 3 assists in 13 matches he featured showed he is consistent which is even more than what Odey and Eleke have scored in their last 13 matches.

He ought to be considered ahead them.

Sequentially, my choice strikers remain Osimhen, Onuachu, Musa. On the fringes Awoniyi and Odey.

No place in my team for anything like PenalGhalo. I dont play defensive strikers, I play attacking strikers instead, all you kids should cry me a river grin

Brendan Rodgers reveals his plan for Kelechi Iheanacho at Leicester City

Brendan Rodgers has revealed how he plans to develop Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho and restored his lost confidence.

The Nigeria international, who was criticised for missing a good chance late on in Monday’s defeat at Manchester City, has had a disappointing season and has only scored twice this season in 36 appearances, although the vast majority of those were as a substitute, and his last goal came in September in the win over Huddersfield Town.

Rodgers admits a loan switch so the 22-year-old can get more game time, start scoring some goals again and get his confidence back, could be an option for him, but Rodgers believes there is still plenty of potential to improve and develop the young City striker.

“It’s a possibility, it’s not something I’m thinking about,” said Rodgers.

“He’s a boy that’s just got to where he’s got to on his pure natural talent.

“He’s played some games for Manchester City and we’ve seen what he can do in his few appearances there.

“I think when you come into a club like here with a hefty price tag, maybe you can try and force things too much as young player.

“Normally after that that season of adaptation then things can happen for you.

“Look at Divock Origi, he’s a classic example of a young player coming in to a big club, although Kels is a bit older.

“There’s always that possibility[of a loan]. However, my plan for him is to build up his confidence in this last period.

“Whether on Monday it was being back at his former club, he probably just snatched at the chance when it came, but my job is to rebuild that confidence.

“That’s what I do.

“Then hopefully in pre-season, he’ll hit the back of the net and get the sensation of scoring again. And by the start of the season we have a player who has the confidence.”

Rodgers certainly believes Iheanacho has plenty of potential to develop and he suggested he may look at a change of formation in pre-season so he can play both Iheanacho and Jamie Vardy.

“There’s no doubt there’s something there we can work with,” he added.

“That’s what gives me great confidence.

“At times, we’ll look at a different system that allows us to have two strikers up there.

“If he’s playing with Jamie that’s a really good balance.

“In previous clubs I’ve played a diamond, I’ve played 3-1-4-2. The idea when I came here was simplicity, give the clarity. and when they grasped the concepts then you can start to develop that.”
