Hi guys. I did my MSc at LMU Munich and am also currently doing a PhD there. I've lived in Germany for about 4 years now. I decided to contribute to the whole discussion on studying and living abroad for Nigerians alongside other topics by opening a YouTube channel.

Currently I've uploaded 4 videos. 2 videos on why Germany is a good destination as well as how to apply to German universities and 2 other videos on different topics. I would appreciate if you guys checked out the channel, watched the videos and subscribed.

I'd appreciate it even more if you tell me the kind of content you would like to see as a Nigerian planning on moving to Germany. I'd be glad to make content that you all find useful. Thanks

What you don't realize is that we all contribute in different ways. I personally work with Eke40seven and do a lot for the Nigerian students who are currently living in Munich but of course you don't know that.

Yes I would like to have views on my channel but more importantly I want to help the general Nigerian population of students who want to study in Germany. My schedule doesn't allow me to drop by here often but I see that some people are already doing a good job of helping out on here. I'm creating videos as my own way of helping out. If you think I'm trying to use you guys for views or to make money then you're mistaken.

Perhaps if you move to Munich, you would also benefit from the things that I and some others are doing for the Nigerian student population here.

You shouldn't automatically assume that anyone who offers to help is trying to take advantage of you. Peace

Hi! Thanks so much for this, will definitely look at your channel & I am glad to finally find a person from Munich. How is it there in Munich? And how's LMU? I've heard so much about it. I got admission to start studies there this winter and I have cold feet already. It would be great if we could connect. Thanks in advance.

Uniassist has a different deadline with the schools.
But, if you haven't sent your document to uniassist before, I think you won't be able to meet up that deadline.
If you have a document with them already, then you can.

Greetings Y'all,

If you are using uni assist for your applications, i will advise you to also apply to Technishe Universitat Berlin (TU Berlin) and Universitat Potsdam, both schools are under uni assist but the school has covered the cost for uni assist application fees for masters students meaning any masters course you apply for in both schools, you dont have to pay a dime except for Linguistics i think. So when sending your docs to uni assist, also apply for a course in both schools and send the application forms along with your certified docs. And of course a course that fits you, you can never tell

Furthermore, Berlin is one of the easiest city to get longer RP and to renew your RP, even with your first entry, you get 2 to 3 years straight up, They just stamp your passport (the validity of your passport has got to exceed 2 years), no need to wait for the Aufenthaltserlaubnis card which takes about 4 weeks or more. And of course there are jobs, but rent can be kind of high but its worth it. If you are coming with SL, bring money at least 1500 to 2k euros, you can survive with that till you get a job depending on how you spend, also, when signing your rent contract, you will pay a caution fee which means if you damage anything in the room, at the end of your contract, they deduct the loss from your caution fee, if everything is intact, you get the money back. The caution fee can range btw 300-450 euros.

Lastly, immediately you get an admission, make sure to register with the studierendewerk of your university or city to book for accommodation, NO ACCOMMODATION, NO RESIDENCE PERMIT. NO RESIDENCE PERMIT, NO JOB. Accommodation can be very scarce in places like Bremen and Hannover during this winter due to lot of students coming all over the world. You can also download the Gesucht app on playstore to look for private housing in different cities. But the studierenderwerk housing is cheap compared to Gesucht.

Wishing everybody success in their endeavors.
Bless Up!!

Good evening all,
I just want to give some motivation to the new applicants and new people joining this thread. If you ever wish to study in Germany, believe me this is where to be. The information on this thread's pages is so enormous and filled than any agent you will meet on the streets. Experiences here are real and people are always ready to help, Kudos to you all.

I would advise that you do some investments if you really want this admissions, at first when I joined also, I felt it would be a stroll in the park, but after many rejections last year, I had to get really serious.
1- Read this thread like a bible, make notes. Open an excel sheet or a jotter and put major points there.
2- Research the schools by your self. Information is key and only you know what you want. See my excel sheet below and see the list of schools I researched.
[img][/img]
3- The make a shortlist based on what you really want, check their requirement and please, go get a language certificate. I advise you do IELTS, in my opinion, you get better results than TOEFL. That alone increases your chances very very much.
4- Spend some money and try not to avoid Uni-assist. This would increase your chances also because you would have so many courses to apply to.
5- Relate with people, your admission could just be one information you are missing. In my case, I was using my normal work CV until Someone here @Teejay advised I use the Euro format. I felt because I was getting a lot of interviews from Europe with my resume, it would apply to the education sector. They are different sectors.
6- Also note that the course you wish to study is totally different from the course you have the knowledge to study.
Sometimes we wish to study course A, while our transcripts is showing the school we are qualified to study course B. So you need to also check deeply, I got like 6 rejections last summer. This year, I have applied to like 10 schools, 1 admission dropped this week. Still expecting more.
7- So, Do you research, relate with people and be humble.

We will all make it. Cheers
nice post. Could you please share a format as you indicated in line 5? Thanks
