Last month, when I wanted going to Akwa-ibom. The bus I wanted boarding, left at about 8:00am and I was there about 7:50am but it was filled up. I needed to wait for the next bus by 10.00am. The first bus I wanted entering had a very serious accident with a trailer around odukpani road. The bus was smashed into pieces like a folded paper. I just keep thanking God...

Why hurl an insult at someone thanking God for delivering him from evil? Yes we feel sorry for the lost ones but he's got every right to thank his God.

The same thing that happened to your family members that died happened to them. The same thing that will happen to you very soon happened to them

The day I made peace with God. I had been feeling condemned and miserable but as I confessed the bad things I had done to God in a private prayer and promised Him I won't go back to them, I felt such indescribable joy.
More education has come, the dream job, the kids, the house/houses and a few odd millions have all come.
But nothing matches the joy of that day.
That experience reminds me everyday that God is real

I came to Lagos the 2007 without knowing anyone. I was slept under bridges for months. In fact it was during Fashola regime when he was raiding people, but thank Jehovah God nothing evil has happened to me since my coming to Lagos. Today am living in Mini plat and by this weekend am getting married.

Each time I think about what God has done for me, it makes me humble myself and at the same time appreciate God faithfulness.

I have had countless experiences that strengthened my faith, but one of the most influential was when I had a dream about end time.

In the dream I made heaven and being a great and terrific sinner, I was surprised how I made heaven and a very good friend of mine went to hell in the dream. When I woke up, I was so scared, terrified and sober. This and some other experiences made me strongly believe that God's Divine Mercy is endless.

Divine Mercy is the greatest attribute of God

Hmm. God is wonderful. There are some things that I saw when very young (5 yrs old), dreams I dreamt, things I did and things I knew. But I read in my Scripture that it is the goodness of God that led me to repentance. It is never of works.
The whole essence of my life is not in this material word alone, because I know God I am sure that I will never be poor and not that alone, I have peace with God and the hope of eternal life.
Demons are real, there are spirits of demons, it is true that there is Jaz, but me o and my house we have seen God's faithfulness.
This Scripture strengthens my faith whenever I read it, PHILEMON 1:6, it says that the communication (fellowship) of my faith is effectual when I acknowledge every good things that God has done for me.
Philippians 4:19, But my God shall supply my needs according to His Riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
John 17:3. This is eternal life, that I may know him, the only true God and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.
Hallelujah.
He raised me up.....

I was selective with tithe payment and paying the incorrect amounts, until one night when I had a divine revelation. That same day I asked forgiveness and quickly withdrew the correct amount and paid the Sunday of that week. Since then the kind of flow I've been experiencing ehn.words cannot express it. Just this week, i loaned someone a certain amount that left a big gap in my finances. The same day, in the evening, one of our contractors transferred the exact amount I loaned out into my account and he said it is for 'foodstuff'. I was amazed.

I have never lacked ever since God visited me through a vision and I obeyed Him without hesitation (it was painful though.E pinch me for body), this is why nothing anyone will tell me about tithe payment will make a difference to me. It also made me realize that the Word of God is not empty. It is full of life amd power, making wise the simple, is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our paths. Is is LIFE itself. Obey it and live.

My life and my experiences generally. We all have to come to a point in our walk with God where the deepest and greatest things we yearn for stem towards our spiritual growth. I say this because many responses to this question about our faith might be directed to material things like finance, healing and such like. Yeah, I am not saying it doesn't help our faith grow, of course, it does. But we must go beyond this point to where we spiritually encounter God and know HIM indepth via revelation and HIM speaking to our hearts daily, encouraging, instructing and convicting us as well.

My own Story.. ..

It was in the year 2008,I couldn't believe it that I was yet to get admitted to the university after 5yrs.post secondary school. I left the secondary school in the year 2003 and having passed my Jamb and o'level,i kept picking unilorin all through the year and before I realised it I had already picked the school for solid 4yrs.
I choose to write on this article about "depression" because it's a topic most naija youth shy away from,I was an average student while in secondary and I was opportune to attend a Federal Government College so I got all the maximum exposure any unity school attendee's can relate with.Unity school's gives it student's "all round" exposure.
Three of my jamb were withheld courtesy of some student's fighting in the examination hall and things happening in other examination rooms with no fault of mine.It was a terrible experience for me and life seems to be "turningoninown"
Depression is so real, I experienced it and the taste is not good at all, like an average kid's born in the mid 80's,growing up was fun and I was quite intelligent and brilliant as well, the mid 80's kids has a blend of the old naija and the "massive transformation" of the early year 2000,we saw it all the military regime and the beginning of democracy in naija.
After two years of rounding up in the secondary school,I discovered that I was alone among my friends who is yet to be admitted, I began to loose my zeal, energy and vigour about the positivity of the future ahead.
Most of my friends felt my not getting admission was my own fault and i was physically abandon among peers, even most of the so called friend stopped talking to me because the assumption was that maybe i was an "unfortunate child" who is been paid back by the "gods" by not been admitted into the university of his choice when his secondary school colleagues are already doing there nysc.
I was a commercial student and because of the background been given to us at F.G.C going to the polytechnic was never an option,it must be a university.I would be so real with this my article and I am going to list out things I did and how I did win the battle against "depression"

(1)BUYING BOOK'S

Kids whose birthday fall's in the mid 80's would remember that learning a "trade" was not an option for us way back, why ? the assumption we were given way back was that your brain capacity is low for you to go learn any "trade" the in thing was getting into the university, study and graduate and settle for a white collar job.
After I discovered that I was always left alone at home to do the cooking, I was extremely bored, being an introvert I started saving up my cash to buy book's, I started visiting bookstore's and I became a "voracious" reader.
This was the beginning of discovering my "writing gift" every writer is a reader, and if you do not read others, nobody would ever read you" in life "the most amazing thing's could come from a terrible experience" it's not every fire in life that are meant to burn up a man, some were meant to purge a man and show him to his world.
This attitude of reading really changed me and it did make me to have about "103" personally written article all uploaded here on nairaland. If were to be I got admitted in time,i might not discover my "passion" "every negativity is always a blessing in disguise

(2)I BECAME MORE SPIRITUAL

It was my period of waiting for admission that I discovered " God " it wasn't that God was lost, but I was almost loosing my mind and I once attempt a suicide in the 5th year of the no admission experience.
I woke up in the year 2008 and went to pick up a kitchen knife and at the attempt of stabbing myself in a midnight,I heard a voice saying to my ear's "you are a fool for this attempt to kill yourself, why? you would loose the admission by dying and you would face divine judgement for taking the life that was not yours" the voice was clear, audible and fearful,I had goose pimples all over me as God speaks.
This day was the particular day I realised that our life is like a loan and we must return back to the "Creator" to give him the report of our sojourn here on earth.
I dropped the knife on the kitchen floor and went back to my room, for the atheist who argue against the "existence" of God, I am not going to argue with you,"God is alive" and so real.
The most pathetic thing was that my parent's were soundly asleep in there respective rooms and they would have just woke up the next morning and found me in the pool of my own blood, most naija parent's hardly know what is happening to there kids especially "teenager's",thou I was already in my early 20's in the year of the suicide attempt.
I can relate to any " mood swing" teenager's do experience as a result of there rapid growing up and the "battles of the mind" they do face.

(3) I SHUNNED ALL YOUTHFUL VICE'S

Thou I was a deep introvert as a secondary school student way back, I have issues with "self esteem" and I lack any faith in my own ability, parent's should watch the way they talk to there kids during there formative year's,my parent's prefer to abuse me verbally than flogging, I never knew this attitude kept destroying my "positive mechanism" which took about 15years for me to win.
Till date,I had never smoke a cigarette nor taking a bottle of alcohol before, why ? because of my introverted nature,I assumed that could it be because of many of my unconfessed sin's as a teenager in the years past was the reason God was denying me an "admission"
We can all relate because of our approach to religion in this part of Africa, the first thing we are made to believe is that "there is a sin in you and that is the reason you do have continuous failures in life" this assumption is wrong and may God deliver us and change the messages of the naija "men of God"
I have discovered something in life by studying the life of the "biblical job" he was a righteous man and the God who makes the heaven and the earth was showing him off to the devil
Listen friends, "not everybody who have bout's of negative circumstances in life are living in sin and not all who have present success are living holy" but time would surely heal all wound's someday and the truth of "life mysteries" shall be made known to all and sundry.
To be continued.............

Another faith impacting story of mine.........

After several years of many hurtful memories, admission delay of six years, need to deal with low self esteem for ten years, failed childhood dreams.
When you feel so unfortunate among other siblings because you kind of have multiple slowness as life progresses, unrealized expectations, failed relationship of three years, bouts of carry over's as an undergraduate, your assumed best friend and roommate dating your ex. girlfriend two weeks after breakup while he did settles the fights between us then.
I was hurting real bad and my entire World seems crashing. I had emotional pains in my heart and dark memories seems to torture my mind.I begin to search for the 'meaning of life'
I myself knew this is not the life I had ever envisaged as a child.I knew life is full of unprecedented challenges but when i did cast a deep reflection of my years on earth, I saw that I had never been free of major setback's within the space of sixty day's in thirty years.
When a die hard optimist tends to feel depressed for months and all you do is to wake up at night to shed silent tears, because you seems to have lost a decade compared to what your friend had achieved,i'm not making any comparison with my friends achievement but that interval of ten years seems outrageous.
When you are not even in any relationship less of picking a wedding date when the youngest of your peers way back is already having his second child. You are been called upon by your aunties and uncle's about you settling down.Sometimes I stopped picking up there calls because I knew it is all about getting married.I had given them several excuses that my take home pay only drop me off at my bus stop, there is no excess cash to spend after paying all bill's.
After I clocked thirty I did prayed to God that I do not want to continue to live my entire life in woes, pains, bad memories and emotional damages.I also searched all scriptures and discovered that many biblical world changers started at age thirty.
Joseph became the Egyptian Prime Minister, Jesus commenced his ministry at same age,David became a king also,Joshua too,age thirty seems to be the age of a man breaking out of all 'demonic oppressions' then I knew if I do not want to die young from relating to unsettled mind and pains of unrealized goals, ambitions and dreams, I need to do something fast.
I was a Christian in all these and I am yet to renounce Jesus Christ till date, but the fact I want to point out to my readers is just that 'you would never grow into spiritual maturity' until you learn to sit, read and meditate on God's word daily. But I was too tired of repetitive failures in life and I knew I was already stucked in the journey called life.
Two weeks after my passing out as a youth corp member,I did a massive transfer of about sixty audios of Bishop David Oyedepo's teachings of the 2014 Shiloh to my phone.I am emphasizing him because right as a late teen,he had been my most admired among all the Nigerian Men of God.Bishop Oyedepo had been my 'role model'
Despite my introverted nature,I love papa so much,I keep wondering how such a man preaches like one who has authority, he is so full of confidence and he has evidence of God's faithfulness all around him, let's forget the issue of him having four private jet's as people do talk about,"when we see a Legend who had stood the test of time" let's learn to appreciate them.
Moreover,no member of his church whom I know complains about that, though I am not his church member but I have all his books in my personal library and why would I complain about the many jet's he fly's when my dad's jet is not missing (lol)
What I had discovered about this Man of God is that he simplified the bible and made Christianity seems to me as a life of 'all winning edge's' I started winning in my Christian journey when I did start to practice all his teachings.
He taught me basic financial intelligence, discovery of purpose, time management, passion exploration and a Christian having an outstanding mindset in solving daily life challenges by you having a solid understanding of the 'transformative power of God's word' in you.
I have done all unpaid advert for papa, let me keep on with my discussion. After I started to listen to all his teachings on my phone,I was so diligent to come out of all yesteryears pains so while on my way to work, the earpiece is in my ears, at office break hour,
while washing, while taking a nap, while eating, even sometimes when I am about to sleep.
I shut my self down online, and aside having to attend to things which involves other people, the moment I am left alone,I repeat the audios again with my earpiece in hand.
Unconsciously after about one year of listening to those teachings, I did not noticed that my life had picked up,I discovered that God had revisited my dark past and all unpleasant memories, I begin to feel more energized and well relaxed and I sleep soundly, along that my midnight secret tears stopped,my mind got a supernatural transformation and my words did changed.
I knew there is definitely a light on the tunnel and that the future is going to be awesome and that the light at the tunnel of life is not an oncoming train hitting me.
Even my friends, neighbour's and family seems to comment about how radiant I seems to look like, friends there is a 'healing power' in God's word and it settles all life predicaments easily. Not until I took the word of God so serious, my life was stucked.
I did write this because it was a period I would ever remember. The year was between 2015-2016 when I did listened to those teachings of papa, the funny thing was that after the period of that one year,my phone got spoilt, as a result of it falling inside water while washing when the earpiece is plugged and all that.
As I conclude,it's not that I had stopped facing more challenges, but as of today as I write, I have the wisdom and strength to know what to do to come out of all my predicament compared to been swept everywhere like the ocean waves year in year out.
What I discovered in life is that there are only three things the devil stays cleared off,the wisdom of God's word, the devil has principalities and powers but he dare not contest with the 'wisdom of God' called Jesus, the mystery behind Jesus death and redemption and your sacrificial giving to promote anything associated with Jesus Christ at anyplace you found yourself.
Many people know what to do,the only problem is that they do not know how to do it?"direction in life is the mother of all destiny transformational change "this is why African youths need at least a 'mentor' in there lives.Good morning Naija.

EternalBeing:
This thread is for us to sharing our past experiences that helped build our faith in God.
It has been observed that those that had past concrete spiritual experiences (whether with GOD or Satan) tend to be tenaciously faithful in their adherence to holy Christian values. And their Faith in JESUS Christ remains rigidly resolute and unshakable in the face of worst life shattering storms and trials that got others running to satan for help. Many are times that some of I and my not-too-grounded Christian friends jointly fasted and prayed for a particular thing, and yet we never got the thing. The "unanswered" prayers (so to say) waters down my friends' Faith, so, they end up asking me why I always have a strongly unshakable love and Faith in God. This made me to realize that my past spiritual experiences play key role in this. How could I deny that Satan and demons exist when I've really encountered them those days when I was not bornagain? How could I deny that JESUS Christ is LORD over all? After several experiences of HIM warning me, and I reluctantly obeyed, but later saw the evil that would have happened. I'll share the negative ones first:

My roommate and I gisted till around 1:55AM and we decided to go and enjoy the rest of the night in our friends place. We passed a bush path and suddenly saw very tiny small humanoid creatures dancing around fire making strange noise. He looked at me in shock and asked "what are these?!" I repeated same to him and we fled with lighting speed. We almost beat down the door of our friends' house till they opened. But we couldn't tell them what we saw that night for fear of those things appearing. This made me to know that demons are real, and they are of various types. Till date, I would have taken the experience as an hallucination if not that we were 2 that witnessed it.

Someone discussed with me that she wants to spoil the beauty of a very beautiful girl with satanic power. She prepared the whole diabolical things, I watched as I was learning the process, and went to bury it. I was extremely shocked when I saw the attacked lady few days later with smelly pose huzzing out of sores all over her body. I realized that jazz dey o! But ALMIGHTY JESUS YAHSHA HaMAshiach has Supreme Eternal Authority over every other authorities. So, if you are holy and deep is Christ, you are very safe. Evil targeted at you shall always backfire on the sender.

When I was in SS 3, I was in a click of 5 guys. We were the big boys of my school then. There was one fair very beautiful girl in our class. One of us went to woo her. By the next day the beautiful fair girl came to visit my guy and they copulated. In few days time, they had a bitter quarreled and moved on. Another of our click went for her. She agreed to date him and the had s*x. The 2nd guy then came to tell us that our other friend "is a liar", that how could he say he slept with a girl that he has just newly deflowered. This led to serious fight among five of us because the first guy said he was the one that deflowered her, while the 2nd guy said he was, with blood on the bed as evidence. By then the girl has already quarreled and parted ways with the 2nd guy too. Being a very beautiful guy and maybe out of curiosity, a 3rd guy from our group went after this same very beautiful girl. ***to be continued***

Just complete the story abeg . There's no fuel in ma gen to keep charging and waiting

I have so many experiences but I will share just one.
Some years back, i experienced this mysterious fever accompanied with frequent stooling.it will stop and come back after a month.i kept treating it but no cure.
One Easter weekend, my church had a singles program which I couldn't attend because of this sickness,I managed to attend on the last day ,the guest minister who came from the west while ministering mentioned my case and declared that it was the last time I will experience such.i got healed instantly and that was the last time.
This happened more than ten years ago.
God is real .
