I've driven on both platforms and i can say without prejudice that its really not worth it, especially if you do not own your car. Like most employers here, Uber and Bolt are taking serious advantage of the high unemployment rate in Nigeria. Things they cant get away with in other countries, they do here. There are so many challenges a driver faces that is not commensurate with the revenue at the end of the day. And like our country Nigeria, young people cannot come together to speak with one voice to end the injustice and unfair play. It is quite ridiculous that you will drive to pick a rider at home, wait and drive him/her to his/her destination in an airconditioned vehicle and still charge same or less what a yellow cab will. I can assure you, if all the drivers on this platform, down tools for a week, they will adjust. Its so simple, THEY CANNOT make money without the drivers. It is a little sacrifice that will reduce all the complaints made here. It is not too much to ask for. Ehailing is not for everyone, it should be a premium service and it is up to the them to introduce variants of it, if they so wish. It can be done

You guys need to understand a company's objectives before criticizing them E-hailing is aimed at providing the most convenient ride at the cheapest price. The business model.

Im not a driver,, but a frequent rider. Im just fascinated at the discussion on here.

Exactly, you are talking from a rider's viewpoint. I am talking from both.

That's a business model being presented to riders, not drivers!
I guess you must have read about someone driving a rider's car when he said he can't drive his own to the said destination, so rider asked him to drive her car.
I don't know if you own a car but I know riders who also owns car know what drivers face. Those types don't complain about ride fares, they even tip you!

You view or opinion.
It is very expensive to maintain a vehicle in this Lagos state with potholes everywhere so people that are experienced are saying the fares are too low as they overwork themselves and their vehicles to be able to make something a bit tangible

Sir, nothing is wrong with what you typed if you can prove to us that you have a car viz:
1. How much did you buy it, Toks or New (you don't have to answer this though)
2. How often do you spend on your car (through servicing and other maintenance) and how cheap/easy is it to shell out the money?
3. Why do you use e-hailing so much of you feel drivers here are just "making noise"? (you didn't use the quoted, but your post suggest that).
4. If you really think low fares is a good thing, have you considered buying a car for e-hailing yourself (or maybe you already have one running).

If you have no answers to the above questions, angry drivers here would "e-maul" you.
Start answering!!!

Lolz. All these questions unto what na?

I never said low fares is good. I only said thats the Coy obj. And equally never mentioned drivers making noice. What's the point of complaining what you can't change. You cant compare personal car rarely used to business car maintenance requirement will defer greatly.

You r goin to read that forever, cos I don't think you can comprehend anything. Let me make this clear to you, the biggest problem here are d drivers, just a week strike will put everyone to check. One person wil crawl out from no where now and start showing us how business is still doing fine, not knowing they don't use the best result as yard stick, but what is obtainable averagely
Am I lazy? I guess soh, left my home on Friday 6:30am work till 12 mid night, slept in the car, continue 7am the next day without bathing and close ard 11pm... What did I get? Taxify 4k bonus and surprise reduction in fare, where riders will bring out 2k, but what on the app is 1k, we shall won't beg for bread after putting up such hours for work. You enter a faulty car and rate driver low, not knowing what it takes to maintain a car, honestly I pity drivers/partner that invest cars of 1.5m upward in dis business, it's not worth it. Las las corolla 99/2000 will soon b d best tool for dis job

Uber fares elsewhere are not as ridiculous as it is here. They are just exploiting the peculiarity of the market. But that's another topic. The point i was trying to make it IT CAN BE CHANGED. Partners and Drivers just need to speak with one voice for a week. No need for unionism. Just don't drive for a week and see if they won't move grounds. The lads on this platform is enough.

From experience 03 to 05... if you are buying a tokunbo, make sure you buy a good..follow the Manuel advice on type of engine oil and especially ATF oil or gear oil ..make sure you use Honda ATF and coolant too ... Honda engine are almost bullet proof ,but transmission, u must use Honda ATF .. Those that have ears let the hear .. You fail to follow this advice, you are on ur own

thank you very much....I think I will settle for the 05.....I feel uber/taxify might remove 2003 vehicles from their list of supported cars soon
