Do you know why Jaime killed The Mad King?
I bet many of us would have killed the mad king if we were in jaime's shoe.. Why will someone tell me to kill my father and burn all inhabitant of a city. Jaime killed one to save about 500,000 people in kings landing. I will break my oath if it comes to saving humanity at the expense of a truly mad king.. The only fault I find in Jaime is the incest with cersie every other act of his in the series have been noble.

so you will kill your father because you are the kings guard... May God not put you in a situation were your loyalty will be tested. You will know blood is thicker than water grin grin

yes he’s a hero but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t wrong, the mad king was defenseless, he could have capture him or injured him , instead he stabbed him in the back and slit his throat then sat down on the iron throne and watch him die. Jaime could have capture him for the rebellion, he had already stopped the guy that wanted to burn down the city, he had every opportunity to capture the mad king for Ned Stark but instead he killed the defenseless man. Let us not be bias, he deserved to be punished

Getting my point, honestly we Nigerians don’t judge things fairly, he already stopped the man that was going to burn down the city, he could have held the mad king captive, the rebellions were already in the city, he could have delivered the mad king to them instead of killing him, he was a Kingsguard

lol.. Who is he to hold a king captive.. Have you forgotten in the game of thrones you either win or die.. Mention one king that was held captive in the whole series..

one but your children; on that front a

Cersei was lecturing Sansa when she said the above, all right, but why do I feel Dany, instead, should've been the one taking down 'em notes - long before the horror that has befallen her in the last couple of episodes - before she ever laid eyes on Jon. At least she'd still be whole and sane.

Now, she has just a child left and plenty of enemies out and within. All her genuine subjects and advisers gone like a puff of smoke, yet she's still no closer to that ugly ol' Iron Throne she risked it all for!

Why wouldn't she go mad on everyone.??

Let the Dracaryings begin already!

Aerys let suspicion turn him into an unrecognizable king... A mad one. One not fit for the realm. Even his son Rheagar sort to oust him. He didn't deserve the oath the kings guard swore him.

If Jaime hadn't killed him, no one in kings landing would be alive. Not even Rhaella, Aerys' wife who should have also enjoyed the protection of the kings guard.

Like Jaime said to Brienne, he saved the realm. Oath or no oath Jaime did the right thing. Even though Aerys was king, that doesn't mean he get to hide behind an oath after all his atrocities.

again u fail to understand my point, Jaime killed the man the mad king sent to burn down the city, that was enough, there was no need for him to go on and kill the mad king when the rebellions were already in Kingslanding, he should have allowed the rebellions do it themselves.

Aerys' last words were "Burn them all!". Jaime killed him because he didn't want the king to give any command that would initiate that 'burn'. He was trying to save the city.

The reason he sat on the throne was not to watch the king die. After killing the king, he didn't know who would claim the throne. Was it his father?... Ned?..Robert? He even thought Rheagar's children were safe. He sat and waited because he wanted to know who would claim the throne. When Ned walked in, he thought it would be him.

lol. Guy hear urself out na. There was no way his father could have gotten the throne, his father didn’t participate in the rebellion till wen it was almost over, the mad king was shouting burn them all not knowing the person giving that task is already dead. Jaime could have held the mad king captive and wen Ned comes in he could have handed him over.

The psycho even commanded Jaime to murder Tywin. And that one was supposed to kill his own beloved father under the guise of keeping one useless oath
Jaime did the right thing.

Keep the king captive? Say it again and hear how that sounds.

If another Kings guard had walked in and seen Jaime holding the king hostage, what do you think would have happened? It would have lead to Jaime's quick death and the king getting his wish of burning everything down. You also seem to have forgotten (or maybe you didn't read the books) that the king had just issued the order to a pyromancer. Jaime actually had to kill the pyromancer first who was running to carry out the order before turning to the king.

Even Ned eyed Jaime with disdain and proclaimed him Kingslayer when he saw the king dead at his feet. And that was a king Ned would have killed if he met him alive.

Jaime didn’t do the right thing, even everybody in Westeros knows that. He could have deliver the mad king to the rebellion. Will you blame the mad king for ordering for the head of Tywin? That nigga betrayed him.

bro why u Dey talk like who no even watch this film, where were the Kings guard wen Jaime was killing the mad king, kings landing was already taken, the mad king saw that and ordered some one to burn the city down, Jaime stopped that, there was no need for him to on and kill the king, Ned Stark walked in immediately after he killed the king. Let us be honest, Jaime should have been punished for that crime, nobody regarded him as a hero in the film.

But Tywin was his father. Aerys thrust upon him a difficult decision and he made it. Say what they will, the Mad King would have laid the whole KL low, if not for Jaime. He saved half a million defenseless people.. Isn't that what knights do?

I think this is where I end this banter with you... Cuz of the bolded. Seems you can't share ideas without some low blows.

Maybe you need to understand the series better. Reading the books would also help. You are responsible for what you understand and have every right to your own thoughts or ideas, whether wrong or right so I won't contrive to imprint anything on you.

Danaerys is my favorite character at this point in the show. She has gone through so much growth as a character since season 1 that it would kill me to see her turned into a villain. She went from being a vengeful teenage widow making empty threats about fire and blood, to:
- Accepting the fact that her father was a bad king, and aspiring to be much better than him.
- Appointing Tyrion, whose brother killed her father, and whose father took kings landing from her father, as her hand.
- Promising to help Jon to fight the army of the dead before he bent the knee and following through at great cost.
- Totally forgiving Jaime, the man who killed her father, on the advice of Sansa and Jon.
- Legitimising Gendry, the bastard son of King Robert, the man who killing her brother, and making him a lord.
- Not killing Varys after he declared his intention to start working against her, despite threatening to burn him earlier.
- Going along with Tyrion's worthless efforts to negotiate with Cersie and never punishing him even when it cost her dearly.

I think that Dany's true purpose for coming to Westeros is to fight the dead, and not necessarily to be the queen, even though she is on track to be a pretty good, but not perfect, queen. At some point I would like her to return to Essos to continue her campaign against slavery.

Ned didn't understand jackshit about why Jaime did what he did. He was a most honorable fool, remember? He judged the poor guy without giving him a chance to defend himself..

Brienne might be the only one in the realm who understands why Jaime killed Aerys.
