jihday: Detan is above 30.. I don't know about Oremade.. He could be young but i doubt under 20. The 3rd choice keeper Mathew Yakubu is actually a young boy. Those are the players who need to be promoted. |

jihday: In Nigeria, age plays a major factor. Musa is one of the few who can still play at a good level. Yobo was the only one in his set that played for a long time.. Aghahowa and Ikedia disappeared several years before Yobo retired.. In a squad of 21, you should have a few still playing at a decent level. Mikel is the only one still playing at a high level from his set. Taye Taiwo and others faded when they were supposed to be getting to their prime. |

tbaba1234: Same thing if you look at players from other top Countries that participated in that tourney. Out of a whole squad list you can hardly get up to 4 or 5 players that are doing it at top level. That is the reality with youth football. In my opinion if we can have 3-4 players from every successive U20 moving to do well in descent leagues we should be ok. In a period of 6 years you can have at least a top 11, all playing in descent leagues. Of course there would also be some other players who didn't play youth football and would still go ahead to achieve great things who will also join them in the SE. |

tbaba1234: Abdul Ajagun played in the Belgium league this season and he still belongs to the Belgium club that sent him on loan to Cyprus. He followed the manger that left his parent club to the Cyprus. The same senerio happened 4 seasons ago when some thought he was finished because Panathinaikos sent him on loan in Greece but still went ahead and did very very very well in the Eredivise and Belgium pro League against all expectations. Let us wait and see what happens at the end of the season. |

Humility017: I thought they would do that when they spoke of an abridged league before the season began, but I now believe that one group would have been far more competitive than the other (consider the location of teams facing relegation). |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Humility017(m): 10:20am On May 13, 2019 |
DrLikita12: that's True....one group would have been more competitive than the other. just concerned about this players constant shuttling...and the resulting fatigue. sometimes they loose away matches not necessarily because of the officiating but because of tiredness and fatigue. I just they can do something about this problem |

tbaba1234: But Taiwo is two years older than Mikel and he still played in the Turkish league at 29. He still played the Europa League with a Switzerland club at 32. He is 34 now. Besides, Obasi played in the Bundesliga at 29 and he is currently 33. If not for injury, he would have played up to 31. So, I don't think only Mikel lasted longer in that set. |

Icon4s: This is not exactly true for other countries. Yes, not everyone will be at national team level but several play at a good level and retire. For instance, a former england youth international can play in the Championship all his career without being good enough for the national team. In our case, it is easier for ex youth international to play at national team level because of a lack of an established league that throws up talent all the time. Many of our players fade when they are supposed to be getting to their best. Even the ones that had a very good start and even career. In 5-8 years, you imagine these guys should at their best but they are getting ready to retire. |

We know these three players have been banging in goals this season but most of us didn't see how they did it to ascertain their level of talent and rate them. As for me, it is how you score the goals that matters alot. You have to check the positioning, agility, shooting technique, skills, ability and the easy at which a striker scores. You mustn't be only a tap merchant but have other attributes to make a complete striker. Based on these, what is your rating after watching? Thanks Osimhen https://www./video/x701hel Onuachu https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuY3GKQvgVI Awoniyi https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ql54zjQhgc 1 Like |

Humility017: It needs a financial solution and money is tight. Maybe the LMC should consider adding the cost of airfare to the money each club receives at the end of the season. Getting rid of midweek games might also help. |
