I don't know what is wrong with you folks. Please where is the development in Owerri? So automatically having large unemployed youths that have turned to prostitution and armed robbery has suddenly become development? Having on every streets brothels where your daughters engage in prostitution is now development? Please what is there that is developed in Owerri?

The last I checked Owerri and Aba still have the same type of messed unmotorable roads and filth. You can take your friends to Owerri but you cannot take your friends to Aba, WTF, is there really any difference between the mess called Owerri and Aba? The truth is that people of Aba agreed that the city needs attentions while the people oringo of Owerri who hardly knows what is development does not agree that they need development. That was why Okorocha was able to r@pe them for 8yrs and used state allocation to build statues while most of the roads are in a mess.

The problem with people like you is that they hardly travel to their home state- Imo, just like many of you guys who scattered all over the place, so most of the times they depend on the propaganda they get online. In all honesty, Owerri and Aba are on the same level, you can confirm this from anyone who has visited home recently. There are not up 3 roads that are good in Owerri, while 95% of them are in shambles with filth overflowing the roads. People of Orlu or Okigwe are not complaining because there's actually no development in Owerri, except you are talking of statues of which that's not what they need except roads and other developments.

We can see genuine development taking place in Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi even Abia but one can hardly see any reasonable thing in Imo state except playing to the gallery- like applying to NUC for 6 state universities, is that not madness, even when IMSU and IMSUTH are poultry farms?

Take this from me, Imo state is the worst state in the SE and very soon you shall know better by the time the new administration takes over and start exposing billions Okorocha borrowed with nothing to show except statues. There is nothing to show in Imo state except that the governor have been going in vicious circle for 8yrs. Here is Owerri, please tell us the difference between this and Aba you are running down.

I will post more if you prompt me, to prove it to you beyond any reasonable doubt that Owerri is a filthy dilapidated dungeon. Okorocha failed woefully in his 8 wasted years.

[s]
Ofuzo:

There's absolutely nothing stupid about owerri being the only igbo city I feel good about because it's the truth. Having seen world class cities around the world, the cities you have in nigeria are shitholes. I can bring my foreign friends to owerri, but, I cannot bring them anywhere near aba, for example. I will be ashamed to tell my foreign friends that my people, the igbos populated those shithole cities.
I have been posting comments here, on what needs to be done to develop igbo states, so, it's not parochial that a governor was not able to develop all the cities in his state. If you've read any of them, you would have known the absurdity of waiting for a state governor to develop a city. Cities all over the world are developed by city mayors/admnistrators, not governors. Which brings me to something you said, that made all your wailing and whining about okorocha not developing orlu very strange. You admitted that in 1976 when imo state was created, there was hardly any difference between orlu and owerri in their levels of urbanization. You have inadvertently admitted that orlu have been neglected for more than 40 years. And, we all know for a fact, that okorocha was not governor of imo state in 32 out of the 40 years. This is a very bad indictment in all your daily whining about what owerri is getting and what orlu is not getting. It seems like all the previous governors have pretty much neglected orlu. It's also not foolish that one town is getting more development than others. Lagos and Abuja got more infrastructure development while they were capitals of nigeria. People like you claim that okorocha was a failure but your wailing and crying about all his developments in owerri proves otherwise. Like I have repeatedly said, super majorities of state governors of nigeria did not develop any cities. Umuahia indigenes are not crying about what aba is getting and aba indigenes are not crying about what umuahia is getting. Nnewi indigenes are not crying about what awka is getting and awka is not crying about what nnewi is getting. Enugu indigenes are not crying about what nsukka is getting and nsukka indigenes are not crying about what enugu is getting. The reason is not far fetched. None of those cities was rapidly developed the way okorocha developed owerri for any of them to complain who is getting what.
Now, I don't really care about your wailing and whining. I just don't get it. It absolutely doesn't make any sense here. This is the wrong fora for it. If you thought your maginalization was so bad, you should have forwarded your grievances through influential orlu stakeholders instead of coming here everyday to cry and wail.
Very very pathetic.

People of Orlu are complaining - and serious.

Eze Ilomuanya of Obinugwu Orlu a short while ago:

"Orlu supported Okorocha in 2011 election, with all his promise and massively voted for him with highest number of votes than other lgas. But immediately he won election, Orlu people became evil in his sight; he began to scrap our major roads, he began plans to move major institutions in Orlu such as Imo State University Teaching Hospital to Owerri...he allowed floods to take over Orlu because of his scrapped roads and incomplete drtainage. And he still wants us to allow him to be our senator...with his crimes. Why?"

Two weeks ago, a Dr Obiarereri from Okigwe lamented over the billions of Naira federal allocations to Okigwe in 8 years which Okorocha seized to build city in Owerri.

Okorocha builds these new blocks Imo Specialist Hospital in Owerri.

He has not added a single new block to IMSUTH. Any new block is from Imo state University or voluntary agencies like oil companies.

He repairs all roads to IMSU in Owerri, but abandoned road to IMSUTH

He builds the Oshiedikes diagnostic Labs in Owerri.
He equips most of his New General Hospitals near Owerri.

Some of us agree that Okorocha developed Owerri, some say he only beautified Owerri
I have even read somewhere that Okorocha made Owerri look near like Hollywood.
Okay.
But one thing: Imo state shall turn to a new thing we didn't expect if we continue with this madness about developing or beautifying only Owerri.

I like it when people present logical argument just like you are doing, not crying like a baby who has been denied of his mother's breast milk.

With that said, you see, unequal resources distribution is condemnable. However, there's nothing you, I or anyone else for that matter can do about it.

More importantly, Owerri is Imo's capital metropolis, so everything that is in Owerri belongs to the rest of us.

You are the liar here not me.

You claimed the 4 new universities have not been created by any Imo State law but that is not the reality as the Imo State House of Assembly have enacted the laws establishing the new universities.

What i find unpleasant is that almost all the 6 new universities established by Rochas administration are in Orlu zone these are in addition to the two new polytechnics and school of nursing all in Orlu zone.

The new universities and polytechnic names and locations are listed below:

1 Imo State University of Science and Technology, Umunna. Okigwe Zone

2 Eastern Palm University, Ogboko. Orlu Zone

3 Imo State University of Medical Sciences, Ogboko, Orlu Zone

4 Imo State University of Creative Technology, Isiaku Nkwerre. Orlu Zone

5 Imo State University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Umuagwo. Orlu Zone

6 Imo Marine University, Oguta. Orlu Zone (In Progress)

1 Imo State College of Health and Management Sciences, Amaigbo. Orlu Zone

2 Bishop Shanahan Polytechnic, Orlu. Orlu Zone

3 Imo State School of Nursing, Okporo. Orlu Zone

4 Nigerian Police College of Finance and Administration, Obiohia/Ogwume. Orlu Zone

Most federal tertiary institutions are in Owerri Zone while Rochas Okorocha clannishly sited almost all the newly established state tertiary institution in Orlu Zone leaving Okigwe zone neglected unjustly.

NUC approves another 3 new universities for Imo State

By Chidimma C. Okeke | Published Date May 7, 2019

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved another three new universities for Imo State government barely three weeks after it approved University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences for the state. The newly approved institutions which bring to six the number of state universities in Imo State are University of Creative Technology, Omuma, University of Medical Sciences, Ogboko and University of Science and Technology, Onuimo. Speaking at a meeting to convey the approval to Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State on Tuesday in Abuja, Executive Secretary of the NUC, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, said the institutions have met all the requirements necessary for their recognition. “All the requirements have been met, the documents have been presented and the laws setting up the universities passed by the State House of Assembly have also been presented. We hereby formally recognise the establishment of these universities,” the NUC boss said. Prof. Rasheed said the Commission would work out new curriculum for the new universities as most programmes the institutions will run are innovative and would require massive input of NUC. He, however, said that the certificate of approval of the new universities would be dispatched to the governor before the end of the day or before the week runs out. Speaking, Governor Okorocha said the universities were established through the instrumentality of the State House of Assembly, adding that the main aim of putting in place the new institutions was to bring development to rural areas and increase access to university education. He explained that in the past seven years the state has the highest number of students seeking university admission in the country, saying, “it is only 20 per cent of them that are admitted. This will give admission to the 80 per cent who are denied admission and are roaming the streets.” On the funding of the new universities, Okorocha said adequate arrangements have been put in place to ensure issue of financial challenges are not associated with the running of the institutions. “If education remains a priority, there is enough fund to run university. We are also involving the private sector because the universities are open to public and private partnership. The project started long time ago,” he said.

Liar.

I never supported Rochas Okorocha for 2nd Term in 2015.

Since 2014, many of us from Orlu area who had good eyes to see Okorocha's direction and disdain for Orlu did not stop in asking for his ouster.

Just name one development project of Rochas Okorocha in Orlu zone.

Rochas don't appoint important people from Orlu zone to govt offices, except boot shiners.

Imo state is richest? How? Name a single industry or one organized market operating in Imo state? Do you think GDP is generated by propaganda? Lol

The truth is that Okoroawusa failed woefully and wasted 8yrs for nothing. Owerri is a backward dilapidated filthy town filled with prostitutes and armed robbers.

The beauty and fast development of Owerri metropolis its due to its strategic position and flat land Located at the centre of 7 major cities in the south south and south east. Why won't there be real estate boom and development. Also surrounded with 6 higher institutions. Lol. Why is this one forming in the mouth. Onitsha main market is the largest market in West Africa, Anambra is the industrial giant of SE. Imolites see Anambra particularly Onitsha as their greener pasture. There are over 2 million Imolites resident in Onitsha alone but there are no Anambran resident anywhere near Imo state.

The Drug market at Headbridge is 100% dominated by Imo state people, ask around. This is an opportunity Imo state govt failed to provide for you people in Imo state.

Despite all the noise about what Okoroawusa achieved Imo state particularly Owerri is still a village filled with bad roads, filth and miscreants.

Tell your useless gov to fix the gully erosion and bad roads and filth destroying Imo state and Owerri in particular.

Tell your gov to start focusing on creating wealth and industrial complex so that Imolites will stop going into prostitution and armed robbery as it is the order of the day in Owerri.

Tell your useless gov to order demolition of those brothels in owerri where prostitutes live and start developing a decent orderly sane society where decent sane people can live and bring up children.

Tell your useless governor to start developing an orderly organized state where citizens can live a better live devoid mess we seeing today in Owerri and Imo state at large.

Tell your useless governor to look into the backwardness of Imo state to stem the tide of migration of Imolites to Onitsha, Lagos, Abuja etc for greener pasture.

Imo state is a cursed worthless useless state.

But a piece of advise to you

If 2 million IMO citizens are residing in anambra then the meager GDP is contributed mainly by imolites remember GDP is your purchasing power
That also means that we spend money on anambra who is then richer

Arguments needs logic sometimes
That is what u don't do

You should always quote me white responding to me. Restless over what? By showing you that Imo state is useless worthless and hopeless. You think GDP is by word of mouth? Show us what you have in Imo state that guarantee your so called fake GDP. Lol

The point is for Imo state to create wealth by opening up industrial layouts, commercial layouts so that Imolites can live in their state and generate wealth.

Imo state is a very poor state. GDP or IGR is a product of industrialisation and commercialisation, and not commercial sex hawking and brothels that you have in Owerri. You guys should get well informed about the economy.

Just the GDP of Nnewi is bigger than the whole Imo state. Just one auto manufacturer at Nnewi has surpassed everything in Imo state, so tell us what's GDP again? Lol. Illiterates that doesn't know what is GDP. Lol

Education? Are you jesting? Anambra has been leading Imo state in JAMB, WAEC, NECO etc.

Anambra has won gold at WORLD TECHNOVATION in America,

Anambra has won Silver at IFEST in Tunisia.

Anambra has won so many gold awards in academic excellence within Nigeria.

Please show us a single academic award won by Imo state outside Nigeria, they haven't even qualified to represent Nigeria like Anambra does all the time

Bunch of useless people that always live on propaganda lol
