This is the my 10th week of application for study visa. No response yet. It is very fraustrating.

This is also my 10th week too. I'm getting tired. I emailed the Consular office yesterday, no reply. I plan on going to the VFS office today or tomorrow.

To everyone waiting for study visa, I hope we get good responses quickly. I applied on the 8th of March and this is my 10th week too. I' plan to visit the VFS office today or tomorrow to get any explanation. I also emailed the Consular General yesterday but no reply yet. I pray it will end in praise.
Did you apply in Lagos or Abuja?
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by mrsbw: 10:38am On May 14, 2019
Lagos. Self Application. VIP

However, from what I was told at VFS during my application, there are 3 priority types (with 3 different colours put in your application bag by the VFS officers when processing). One is for employees of some specified corporates, another is for applicants with previous SA visas, while the 3rd is for those not in any of those categories. The first category is the fastest, followed by the 2nd and then the last.
This impacts application timelines as well.

This one is so fast

What alternatives have you explored? Have you emailed the VFS or Consular? Have you visited the VFS office? What's your study, PhD or Master's. This is my own 10th week. I pray everything will end in praise.

I have not mailed them yet.
Is for undergraduate study for my sister.
We are really tired of the things especially as there is no understandable explanation to the delays. Though I have been thinking if I should mail them.

By friday will make mine 12 weeks

That is 3 months 2 weeks!

But why would they be doing these. For school for Goodness sake. And how much one has spent for insurance, school fees and other things just to study. Is really so bad.

One should be already studying by these time now.

My sis study insurance started since 1st March and this is May so what's really going to happen
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Mimicle101: 4:15pm On May 14, 2019
I just called the momentum financial advisor now to enquire if anything could be done. Since the student health insurance has been active since 1st March. If it could be stopped and the date changed to future or something.

These Vfs guys are not really considering nothing here.

Who shall speak for us in these land?

My brother it is University of KwaZulu Natal, research Master and my supervisor (Prof) is always asking me how far with the visa.

It's master's. I am really tired of waiting. Just that my supervisor told me I can resume semester 2 which will commence in July since they have started semester 1 already.

I tire oh. That's about 14weeks. Both insurance, application fee, SAQA evaluation fee because mine is master's. One has spent a lot . though I heard as far as one has not done registration, the insurance will not start counting.

This one your sister's own is undergraduate, let's be hopeful. That's hope they have not resume in her school?

I applied since 18th of March for visiting visa at the vfs center in Abuja and up till now nothing. I thought I'd spend Easter there as i wanted going for only 2 weeks and coming back to Nigeria. Now i just wan my passport back with/without visa. I even called their customer care number last week Monday and they told me to wait a little. It's frustrating

He said I should write him and email explaining in detail about the visa delay then we can only try but no guarantee to see if momentum will forward the date.

As far as one has not done registration insurance will not start counting. That's not true. Remember it's with the school acceptance later that you will use to apply for the insurance. Check your insurance certificate you should see the active months there. Meanwhile are u also aware that in some instances you would be required to pay 1/3 of the school fees?

Your sister should prepare for 2020 for her resumption since most undergraduate students are commencing their exams this month.

relating to the medical aid of your sister, you can send email to the insurance company once she arrives RSA with the proof of the stamp at POE, asking them to begin the period of her contribution from the time of her arrival and to forward the unused months
