The Embassy consulate of the United States in Nigeria has suspended the interview waiver popularly known as DROP BOX application process effective MAY 14 2019.

All applicants are required to schedule regular appointment until further notice...


UPDATED

According to a statement released by the embassy on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, the drop box application process has been suspended effective immediately.

Before the suspension, Nigerian holders of US visa types B1/B2, F, H, and L could renew their US visa by making use of several drop box locations across Nigeria without attending physical interviews.


With the suspension, such people will now have to visit the embassy in Abuja or consulate in Lagos for in-person interviews.

It's those who go there and over-stay their visa that have brought this upon the innocent ones. They won't go to Saudi or Pakistan, but will go to the U.S. and over-stay and still be criticising Trump. I know the people am talking about.

Lol. By the time Trump finishes with Africa, only 1% of applicants will be allowed in.

Based on this policy now, they will start denying people renewing their visas also. Every country just dey try extort naija sha. I know that things will be better one day, either in our generation or the next.

Who we even offend self. We youth that should salvage the situation are busy chanting Afonja and Igbo online.

We need to also be strict in our immigration laws for Americans.

Why are Africans so beggarly?

Why don't we develop our countries so that our citizens will stop fighting to go to other countries where they will be second class citizens?

Beautiful. This is a very laudable move. Only if other countries that Nigeria and Africa as a whole see as safe heaven will toughen their immigration policies, those in diaspora and those aspiring to emigrate will sit back and fight for the development of their countries.
