2) you would be giving no room for regrets in the future.
And most importantly,
3) you would not end up being the loser in the fierce battle between your bitter rival. And he wouldnt get the opportunity to jeer at the fact that he dated your wife and mock you for the rest of your miserable life. Your ego will literally be saved from being deflated beyond repair.
