Guy you can get a job with that grade without even knowing anyone. I know of someone who we worked together for some years who later got another job with a multinational company based on experience with that same grade 3rd class. Guy be positive,you will be surprise you will even surpass those with 2.1 in career later in life.

My advice. Try do a PDF and then proceed to Masters. You will have a turn around for good. First degree is no more enough even with a first class.

Maybe you should start with web design. Its easier and with loads of resources online. It would also give you the best platform when you go into real programming.
Summary, START with web design and move up from there.

2. Refuse all exemptions and start from the very beginning

3. Make sure you opt in for the BSc Applied Accounting degree offered by ACCA in partnership with Oxford Brookes University

4. Try as much as possible to get a first class in the Oxford Brookes degree

5. Know the courses so well that you can teach them and offer to teach some of the courses (It would improve your teaching skills and network)

6. Complete your ACCA.

Your chances of getting a job during and after the ACCA program will increase greatly.

Bro I just advise you to keep the positive spirit and try get a skill(check within you there is something you are good at and like doing) then you can later try to add some kpali to the previous. I am an accounting graduate with 2:1 and haven't gotten a permanent job, I do side hustle in events and also music.
One of the things that keep me going is something my lecturer (Dr Alhassan Shehu) once told us in class "an accountant can never be jobless"

Why not. All you have to do is to learn how to do the accounting job in real life, most of the second class graduates might not even know how to do the job,

Take these simple steps:

Find a way to learn relevant accounting softwares. Can you use Microsoft Excel at an advanced level?

Look for jobs or internships in small firms, supermarkets, malls, and SMEs that won't mind your class of degree, pay might be little but the aim is to gain hands-on experience.

When you've made some money, write certifications like ACCA, ICAN, CIPM, PMI etc., depending on your dreams. At this point you'll have lesser challenge getting good jobs.

Then go for a PGD and subsequently master's.

And ultimately pursue your dreams. God bless you.

Still sourcing for more materials for better understanding and aid on data science.

Lol, provide him with alternative advice then, people are advising him to develop more professionally because from his post he wants to get a job, and professional development is the only way forward even for better performing graduates.

There could also be a lot of factors why someone might perform poorly in school, not necessarily because school isn't meant for them.

It'll be best if you provide him with your own non-academic advice and let him decide if it's a better way out for him.

Yes you can. I graduated with a 3rd class in accounting also and I have changed jobs thrice since I graduted in 2009. I even secured a job before most of the top guys in my class. Certificate is over rated bro.

You can register for a PG degree and subsequently Masters or professional courses as ICAN, CIBN ETC. The sky is your limit.

Thank you. There are a thousand and one things to do that do not require a certificate as some people have pointed out. I believe everyone has a skill or talent, something you're good at. He needs to all himself what his targets are, set realistic ones and set a timeline to achieve them. A 3rd class is an indictment but not a judgement. He should plan his next steps carefully. He shouldn't put himself under pressure due to events around him. He should look at himself that he has failed now, but he's not a failure. I bet you he'll find out what he needs to do. Most importantly, he should God seriously. Na baba sabi the way
