The problem with Nigeria is that some region want it all and they never want others to get even one thing and they are very happy about that. GEJ started all those project in SW yet they hate him. SW railway, Ibadan express, Ore are all are PDP project, PDP spread project all over Nigeria and where building all simultaneously, you cant compare it when a project is built only in North West and South West, that is not development. The SW jubilating should remember that the money used in building this is coming from Niger Delta oil money.

This is unprecedented. If it were to be normal Nigerian way, the project would have been completed by the next administration.

Especially considering the fact that past administrations for decades did not start and complete any rail project.

Warri/Itakpe was abandoned for 30 years, but completed in less than 4 years, we are basically doing more with less money fast and on time.

Fantastic achievement. Rail is the way to go between the great cities of Nigeria. How I wish state governors could just place an embargo on the development of new roads and place those resources to linking the states around them by rail, this nation will open up in ways unimaginable and inflation will be dealt a severe blow.

All they need to do is one major rail station in and around the state capital and a standard line to the border of their states where the next state takes over. Just one or two terms of goverment and the country will be completely interlinked with cheaper and more efficient transport services. Then the rolling stock, the business end will be private sector run with royalties going to government, the owner of the rail lines.

We must have it all

Lagos and Ogun isn't South-West. Most roads in the SW are in really bad shape.

This is a giant stride and i hope it heralds other infrastructural project that brings development to the country.

The civil works are good from view, but the Nigerian government should not spoil the whole thing by acquiring a 1938 model locomotive for this project.

There should be a high speed train ( the operating speed must be at or exceed 200km/hr and high level of service).

With this, the 156km railway will be able to meet up with a travel time of less than an hour. It will also relieve our major highways of some amount of traffic loads.

It's not necessary, we need to begin to understand, the roads in Anambra will not only be used by the citizens of Anambra but the entire human race including Igbo, Hausa , Yoruba, British and Spanish. It always makes me happy whenever there is new development in a part of the country. This is because, I know it's not the only locals in the environment that will benefit from it. The Second Niger bridge is for all Nigerians likewise the ongoing Rail construction in SW. Peace

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo is being awaited in Lagos to kick-off the construction of the Lagos-Ibadan rail line.

Including this project that VP Osinbanjo flagged off in 2017? GEJ obviously lefdt office and traveled into the future to start the project in 2017

The question is why didn't GEJ site projects in the SE including the 2nd NB even with all the love and votes you gave him?
