Foolishmasses:
Almost everyone has a wealthy family member that can raise some of the family member up, but they won't do that because they want you to lick their ass before they give u 1k when u need 100k. And that simple analysis portrays the reason why we have wicked leaders, they are products of the society, an average Nigerian wish to see his neighbor suffer when he's living comfortably so that the "baba agbalagba" chants with two hands raised keep going on and on. I'm from a wealthy extended family but each keep their millions, billion to themselves even though it's illegally gotten, the churches, mosques worships them. I saw them last during family burial and they didn't in anyway expect to see me in way they did, they were stunned that I've been elevated, their conclusion was im into something illegal, they avoided me like a plague and I didn't care, they just want me to fret like other idiots in the family on sighting them....

Lollll grin. God pass them all we thank God for life

If our government weren't asleep on their watch, they will realize that yahoo yahoo is the least of the social vices plaguing these untrained youths of nowadays. Number one problem is drug abuse. The drug culture is spreading like wild fire among teens and tertiary students. Many of them are now on one drug or another, from weed, to sniff, to heroine, you name it. They even devised new slangs to cover it up; you will hear them say things like "loud". Worst part is it's not just a boys thing anymore, even girls are involved in all this rubbish now. From drugs to alcoholism to night life craze. "Druggies" everywhere. The society is raising a generation of druggists that are useless to themselves and useless to society. Lazy and irresponsible youths looking for the easy way out, wanting to live large by stealing, youths that think being a crook means you're sharp. That's what is pushing them to more crime. Then another problem is the celeb culture that is pushing them to embrace the lives of a criminal, because lots of all these Nigeria celebs portray a criminal lifestyle to the youths and they are embracing it in the name of being fans. Another major problem is foolishness. Many youths today are just inherently foolish, because many of them lack proper home training and exposure. The other day I was driving and saw 2 young teen boys at the bus stop standing in the rain just directly in front of 2 large transformers that were exposed. Now if they get electrocuted, some people will blame village people, but the problem is many of the teens of today are so foolish that they can't even recognize danger if it was standing right in front of their faces. They don't know the difference between bold and stupidity. A cockroach that jumps on me is not bold, that cockroach is stupid because I will kill it. Same way they jump on internet crime thinking they are sharp, but they are not sharp, they are just fortunate they are dealing with stupid-er people.

I see no sense in this.

How can a person who claims he/she is unemploy, makes millions of Naira from advance fee fraud and fail to start a legit business (not easy though if one ain't business oriented) instead he/she spend the money in clubs, on girls/boys, hard drugs, alcohol and other luxuries?
Because what has no blessings of the Creator in it will always come to waste and regret.

SARS have actually shown to this commission that there is free money to be made in the street (on the street or at the street? undecided) by arresting and recovering assets and what have you from this cyber elements. I do not blame them for doing so as the commission needs money to sustain itself.
I am still not understanding why someone will have money and will buy a car of 10 million while in a rented apartment
I know a year two boy in Imsu, who bought the 2015 Lexus!
There are empty land in Ogun state. Buy a land with that money and engage in agriculture or even transportation (15 million will give you 7 Corolla for Uber) or haulage or logistics. This diversification of income will give efcc or anyone hard nut to crack trying to know what you do. I find this guys way of life strange.

Magu is everywhere in Nigeria in arresting internet fraudsters but selective in doing same to politicians, the umbrella-bearing politicians are persistently vilified while the broom-bearing politicians are rarely vilified.

I was discussing this issue the other day with a high ranking security personnel, trying to unravel why there is this recent crackdown on cyber elements. One of the reason is simple and obvious - Majority of this scammers are against this government. Most people who have access to internet all day, who attack everything the government are doing (the bolded part in their comment says it all) are mostly made up of certain people with certain political alignment. Its no surprise. Anyway, I still believe in the 11th commandment; thou shall not be caught.

Everybody is saying that Nigeria is corrupt, but something caused it,Bad and evil leaders.
It has degenerated to a level, where the masses are literally feeding from the dustbin.
When they started executing criminals publicly in Nigeria, did it stop criminality,no,because the root cause of the problem has not been addressed.
Give Nigerians good living conditions, job opportunities, good road, constant electricity,,good infrastructures and you will see how crime will reduce to the barest minimum.
why is crime rate so low in the western world,it's because they have responsible leaders that provide job opportunties and good infrastructures in place for their citizens.
Here, instead of taking a cue from the west, they loot and still continue to loot the collective wealth and destinies of their citizens and intimidate them with senseless statement.
Imagine the number one custom boss in Nigeria saying that, Foreign rice is poisonous that Nigerians should not buy them..
The undergraduate, this Efcc boss is addressing, did they have any iota of hope of securing a job after graduation.

Why do we always ignore the bigger picture in this country?

Is impersonation, love scams and other menial cyber crimes the only finicial and economic crime?

What about monopoly? Moneylaundering? Ponzi schemes? Inflation? Bribery? Breach of trust and agreement? Corruption? Illegal charges and practices from banks?terrorist financing? tax evasion? embezzlement? forgery? counterfeiting?

So many stupid things going on in this country that fall within Grey areas in this country.

My UBA bank keeps deducting 52 naira for all cards I've used and reported stolen or naira.
I've reported this issue but nothing is done against it.

Is this how you wanna fix the economy? By concentrating 95% of your resources and energy on petty fraudsters?

We're trying so hard to keep up with the pace of USA, UK, CANADA, NORWAY, SWITZERLAND and a host of other countries in battling financial and economic crimes but the truth is, even our fight is highly flawed.

Let us pause for a while, look at the bigger picture and go back to the drawing book.

You are absolutely correct but if you may ask me I would say yahoo boys really brought this upon. Themselves. I swear if they are left alone and not checkmated as it is being done right now, by the anti graft and security Agency, they will take over the country. They'll be proud of the yahoo yahoo life styles like it is a banking jobs, they will easily tell their gfs that I be yahoo boy, and even tell their neighbors that I don collect money from my maga...

I believe others solid issues you raised abov are thorns in the flesh of this country but they are more silent than yahoo even though they are the most dangerous and major problems. But yahoo guys now make every young Nigerian to want to start the trade by the way they go about it both offline and in social media. So, what the agencies are doing is very necessary

In as much as ur take on yahoo yahoo is great
I am thrilled at how this politically correct statement has gained traction on our minds
The sentence of HOLDING OUR LEADERS ACCOUNTABLE
how do u do that
If u give me a signed cheque
Do u hope I don't clean out ur account wen u know I may or may not
My point is
U gave the leaders immunity clause
And expect them to not spend all the allocation
So how do u hold a man accountable when he has immunity clause and has the power to erase it if he has second term
And even if he doesn't
He now has enough money to hire SANs to purse his case or belongs to a ruling party which won't want to go after him

The way the rich hate the poor in Nigeria is scary. They can scatter 50 houses all around lekki and Ikoyi, but wants you to remain their driver for life. Once you pull out and try to build one they will come after you like bees, calling you all sorts of names. Biko what is the age bracket to be successful in Nigeria? Because it appears one is not permitted to drive a car or live well in Nigeria without grey hair on you. As much as I hate anyone defrauding other people’s hard earned money only to lavish it on sex and clubbing, I still believe we are focusing too much attention and energy on a leaser evil. Let’s also Focus same attention on addressing other bigger issues militating against our self pride and dignity as a nation.
This will also help curb this raging evil, Let the government create enabling environment for businesses to thrive. Even if it’s just steady power let’s start from there at least; I run a restaurant with 5 staffs, after paying my workers the rest of the money is almost use on fuel because I have to keep the place conducive for customers and that is killing me, as if that’s not enough yesterday PHCN brought a bill of 9k I feel like closing up and run away from Nigeria and never come back.
