We need to find ways to start branding our villages as Eco-tourism destinations. White people and other foreigners love that shii#t.

Plus it will provide jobs for the the locals. Our Diaspora should invest in eco-tourism.

Honestly, when I see the level of tourism in countries like thailand, Cambodia, vietnam etc, I marvel.

Apart from their relative stable electricity and okay roads, they are not that special. Igboland can compete with them in tourism if supporting infrastructures is in place.

People talk of our oil...What does Switzerland, Korea, and France have as natural resources? Even Kenya. Rwanda has more tourist than Nigeria. Check out Arsenal jersey advert. That's how to do it. Has Nigeria made any effort. This why I advocate for smaller country where people can reason and bring lofty ideas out and implement them like you have see in Igbo villages. Nigeria is too big for ideas to be welcomed and implemented.

Word. I was taking to this Rwandan guy on Quora and he told me how exactly Rwanda is using different avenues including international branding to attract visitors and investors. And it is working.

The rate of hotel construction going on in Kigali now is no joke. Their international conference center is state of the art.

I need to. There are so many hidden gems in Ala-Igbo that a lot of us don’t know until we travel for weddings.

I think we should have a picture thread for Igbo villages only.

Also visit Oraukwu and Orsumenyi

Rwanda has a good leader. Just see how far they have gone after a few years of genocidal war? Lagos with trillion budget and with huge funds generated from its seaport, Apapa to MMIA road is a tragedy. Nigeria is unserious country and I am ashamed of it.

If you can send pictures, that will be appreciated. Not everyone can travel to America, London France, but with pictures, people can see where they may never be opportune to visit. Thanks

Seriously, I am tired of the excuses people make for this quagmire called Nigeria.

Nigeria is a hairy grown 59 year old man that still don’t know how to crawl talkless of standing and walking.

Lagos may not be perfect, but it is not a tragedy if you get the money.

At least it is making a little effort

The 2nd pic is not Lagos. And the areas of Lagos you are showing is just 1/20 of the city which is very wealthy. Majority of Lagos don’t look like that. This is the 21st century, everyone now has access to google.

Edit: Good. Now you changed the 2nd picture to Lagos island. This is for those who didn’t see the original picture.

OP, you should see Udi town, Agbudu, Obinagu, in fact all villages in Udi local government Enugu state.

It's a pity that the media have deceived people into thinking that Igbos only develope other places. Igbo villages are constantly being developed by umu igbo from roads to houses to water supply, no one waits on the government.

Igbos really do care about their communities. I am very proud of my people. We should continue doing the good works. Building roads, community tap, electricity, school, apprenticeship, scholarship etc. Igbo truly Amaka.

We should never be like those people who abandoned their villages and cities to decay while claiming a federal capital territory built by the hard work of outsiders and stolen resources of other outsiders. Shame.

This is the story of development in our local gov'ts and villages: development is mainly driven by individual effort....which is not bad in itself as that's how it should be. But the little the local and state gov'ts are supposed to do, they're usually found wanting!

Just download google earth on your phone and zoom into Lagos. That’s when you will realize that that majority of it is a slum. They keep showing same pictures of a particular section that looks developed.

Ursumenyi
Awka etiti
Oraukwu

These are various villages that look like capital cities in yoruba land but in Igbo they are just villages
