Yes they are different(tho majority of German insurance company offers both) and non is needed for student visa interview
Go to the embassy site under student visa and download the checklist for student visa
For travel insurance, you would be asked by the embassy through e-mail to provide that after a successful interview (usually 4-8weeks after your interview)
For health insurance, that would be needed when you get to Germany

Anyone curious about anything can search on nairaland if u cannot read d whole thread. Just make sure u include the keyword. for example i just searched travel insurance germany. i got info about the price and the companies. it might have been posted for a long time but the info is invaluable.

My deadlines are May 31 submissions- about 3 or 4 schools and they’re direct applications that will require physical delivery of docs and due to the timeline, not sure I can trust delivery services.
Dhl be expensive though and perhaps, let me ask, anyone know if EMS opens on weekends and how long it would take then to deliver to Germany? Thanks fellas.

Leave both empty...u dont have a resident permit reason been that you are at the moment using only ur Nigerian passport with a prospective visa stamp to gain entry into germany

It's not a letter of motivation. It is a formal letter stating the course, degree and semester you wish to apply for.
