Thanks

You are being warned by Gazzuzz and others but you no wan hear word. There is a reason this thread we always advise newbies to read backwards before jumping in but typical naija laziness dey always worry some people.
I started on Uber 2017 with a 2nd new 407 and trust me is suffered I became very well known in Ladipo in fact it was a constant for me.i used the car for just 6 months and I was in Ladipo at least 2ce every month that is apart from other issues I don't want to go into. eventually I sold the car at a good price luckily for me after cars 45 wan discourage me with dem useless pricing...i bid my time and because I also work I was able to then use that money to get a corolla 07 on HP and believe me in almost one year I have not visited the mechanic for nothing other than servicing but it came with a validated mileage of 87k so I got a very good deal or car as well without the usual shock or shaft issues and that's to computerglobal who chop my money well for various inspection reports but it was worth it in the end.
So guy I can tell you for free if you don't have up to 1m at least don't bother itself jumping in you will cry except you are just very fortunate to get a good car from a desperate sale or Canada runaway and such don't come around everyday. Secondly the market now is not like before it is very saturated now.Gone are the days when Saturday was a steady 2.0 surge in the island or Airport was a steady 2.0 surge every hour as planes landed, several great people here don join fence don't go and buy a car and in 6 months you don enter fence..word is enough for the wise....

This one also caught my attention.
Gone at those days that you see red apple in the morning till like 12pm on Monday, Tue and Wednesday, steadily at lekki 2.
Gone are the the days I would have made 10k before 12 pm.
Gone are the days that surge is always constant during closing hours at V.I.
Those days that there was always surge at ikoyi from 8pm.
Gone are the days that red apple would grow all over Lagos on Saturdays.
What those saying Uber( E-hailing) still pays are the ones that didn't see those days.

But seriously what went wrong? Is uber /taxify trying to enslave us? Ok we agree they reduced fares in order to get more riders, what happened to surge on Mondays and evenings? The strike is inevitable.

Surges are not created by them, it's only a dynamic pricing.

Hi guys...pls kindly help encourage someone here o. I tried to use google map to locate FAGBA around Ifako. The google map was just taking me round and around Allen, Ikeja like Mumu. sedI hated myself cause I just thought to myself If I had lifted a rider and I got confuseed as I did today, the rider wont take it easy with me o. this is one of the reasons I find it hard to venture into this biz myself as a driver. Pls someone help how do I conquer this issue of road mapping. google don fail me many times. google has led me to one-way before. I quickly reversed as one of the street boys advised me to turn back. I am only used to surulere- Apapa axis.

If you drive for a living then you will know that driving isn't easy therefore you need to always take a break even if the car is urs or u are on rental especially if it's In a very unorganized and traffic laden city like Lagos. Dangote that you mentioned in ur post does he drive for a living? Driving is a very strenous work and it weakens the brain and gradually drains the body out. Even Chisco bus drivers take breaks how much more a ridesharing driver.. well, Your comments at times make me want to believe that you are yet to understand this work irrespective of the fact that you own vehicles on the platform.

Hmmm It's very easy to spot people whose brain are filled with WISDOM Just look at the comment.....Simple and short.

No job is easy, even those bankers sitting inside Ac, counting money, they face fatigue and sometimes make mistake. As you are saying is not easy, other people are also saying is not easy in their department

Surge happens when you have more riders than drivers in any location.

With the increase in the number of drivers surge has now become history.

Some new drivers can only read about it in textbooks.

Then again I don't completely trust those Ehailing operators. But what do I know... grin

Buy a Tokunbo Honda Civic 2005 for between 1.1m to 1.3m, use and sell as Nigerian used car for between 600k to 800k
Buy a Tokunbo Toyota Corolla 2005 for between 1.7 to 1.9m, use and sell as Nigerian used car for between 1.1m to 1.3m
In both cases, the car sold for about 500 to 600k less than Tokunbo price

Now, talk to me again about second hand value.

PS: the above statement assumes that both vehicles are properly maintained

You are missing the part where I said liquidity is faster, also you have to consider the demand and supply chain when it comes to car sales..
Example is the Kia above how do you explain that?
Well I really do not want to digress the purpose of the thread let's just move on since opinion differs

Comparing Toyota to other cars, especially for e-hailing reveals an inherent short-sightedness or an ostrich mentality.

Toyota has great second hand value and don't mistake it as a Nigerian thing. It's sturdily built and rugged. Their downsides are the crappy interior and handling.

But who cares when no be house or racing

Lol...

I don't trust the operators too, there should be surge sometimes irrespective of number of drivers, Monday morning, after 1am, heavy rain etc then we destination specific surge/pricing.

I believe drivers available are now much, especially closing hours in V.I that requests use to enter immediately I rejected don't occur like that again. I could wait up to 10 mins or more now before getting next trip. I don't even do shakara anymore since I don't know when next trip will enter.
