Nothing like deliberate attempt, we now live in a dispersed information web connected world and it all depends on where you get your music from, maybe internet, social media, parties, tv, radio station or live shows. Nobody can really dictate what a person listens too in a country, except it's an official order from the government where anyone who disobeys is arrested or the internet is shut down.

You can only have a point perhaps if Nigerian artists are favored in awards than Ghanaians or if a popular station like sound city does not deliberately play GH songs or you heard a Nigeria artist telling tv stations not to play GH songs. That's a clear case.

But to say there is a deliberate attempt to shut down our ears from GH songs sounds funny, that's not possible in any way. I can choose to listen to whatever music i like. Your accusation sounds funny sort of.
how many radio stations play ghanaian music on a regular I guess it hardly happens you probably get the opportunity to hear if you turn to a Ghanaian tv station some 3 yrs ago it was common to hear nigerian music on our airwaves not anymore and that's how it should be everyone should promote their music. We realised the divided attention was affecting our musicians who are equally good. Ghanaian musicians struggle to break into other markets because the business aspect of the music industry is still shaky, we haven't really been able to grasp the business aspect that's our problem and I guess your musicians will obviously make bigger profit to be able to push their music beyond your borders whether it wack or not because of the size of your market. One of the obvious ways to help our artists is to build them locally then export which seems to be what you are doing in your country so if shatta advocates the same thing it with no hard feelings. It's actually working for them

There was indeed a time Ghana music was dominating Nigeria music station rotation list. Especially when we had a music station "Music Africa" which showed on Silver bird Television.

The problem with Ghana music is the business side and lack of proper structure or investment.

When this fall in place more Ghana talents can shine.

There are so many talented Ghanian artists who place premium on talent, voice and all. Stonebwoy is one. Though I prefer Shatta Wale to him.

The most serious what?.. This child's play?.. You obviously never witnessed or heard of the East coast/West coast beef, or that between Eminem and Benzino...

This is the right time for any assassin to strike any of them, and the finger would automatically point at the other person.

First, you're obviously wrong for saying i've obviously not heard Shatta songs. Eyo, Tamale, Dem confuse, and many others like that i listen to well. Especially Ayo is one of my fav because of the vid, i like the vid.
And saying his SM is strong, i never disputed that, i only said with all his noise making, he's not so popular outside Ghana. You're also the more buttressing my initial point, he's only using controversy and smartness to take advantage of Ghanaians.
.

Sincerely speaking,I feel Stonebwoy is a more talented artiste than Shatta. That his song 'Hero' gives me the chills. His collabo with Praiz is another meaningful song I love.

that is not true there is a deliberate attempt to shut your ears from ghanaian music the only ones you hear are the one with nigerian collabo, and you heard one corner because it went viral agreed it's a shitty song but if it hadn't gone viral you wouldn't have heard it am sure.

Ghanaian music is well played here, nothing like "just d collabos" Don't u watch Trace TV, Soundcity TV, Planet TV etc. That plays steady Ghanaian songs, even have their Top 10 Ghana hits. There is no new Ghanaian song that will not hit d Nigeria media, as long as its a good song.

You're not here & won't understand how well Ghanaian songs are known here, I have countless Ghanaian songs in my Music Library. Especially from Sarkodie & R2Bees.

Yea, but i think you getting it all wrong. Nigerians are generally preoccupied with local stuffs rather than things happening outside Nigeria, not that anybody is telling people not to promote or listen to stuffs from other countries. The ones happening in the country, many don't know about it let alone something from outside. But recently, popular TV stations play lots of songs from other African countries, and nigerians more aware of other artists and songs from other african countries..
It's wrong for anyone to directly stand against stuffs from others like Shatta did. Nonetheless if that is what will develop your music industry, it's a good move.
