Frankrobbn1:

Viewing your profile, your application is currently undergoing a background check;

BACKGROUND CHECK: means they are matching the information you provided with their records, if you previously committed a crime, refused a visa, ordered to leave a country and if you are a threat to their security or on a wanted watch list.

REVIEW OF ELIGIBILITY: is the final check and the final stage of your application at the Visa Office. At this point, all of the components of your application are assessed by CIC. They will be checking if you actually QUALIFY for a study permit and if your application meet the requirements of the IRCC Act.
During the eligibility review, the Visa officer will then request for medical check ups as needed by the Visa Office to complete your application.

Most times, it is the Review of Eligibility that some applicants fail to meet because their applications and conditions does not meet the requirements of the IRCC Act (Insufficient funds, course correlation, limited home ties, failure to convince the visa officer that the primary intention is to study). Other checks are just standard procedure for CIC.

After successful review of applicant application and considering that there were no serious issues in the medical checkup, mispresentation, and security to ensure that you will not be a danger to Canadians should your study permit be approved, the Visa Officer will then request for your passport.

Best of luck

Oga boss what bout in a situation whereby PA have no travel history and criminal conviction and got refused in background checks?

Could it be in background checks maybe they also distribute the documents to the appropriate department for checks then gather the findings to the primary VO to assess if the PA meets the study requirements
??
Well, sometimes they do eligibility review without updating it in MYCIC account but I've seen some application in this forum that doesn't stay 2 weeks and got refused in background checks

You can choose whichever route is more comfortable for you. However if you have a lot of supporting documents that would need to be properly narrated then the online route is a good choice. On the contrary, you can head down to any vfs office to complete your application (paper route).

Familiarise yourself with the required imm forms to fill and how to go about with the right documents to compile if you haven't done that. Lastly, try and provide the details of what you intend submitting so you can get advice on plugging the loopholes.

Before you withdraw your application get the gcms note first. Though you have being Patient, just get the gcms ok. Also, I believe your eligibility and background check are going on simultaneously.

quote author=Shadypoza post=78503076]Hello everyone, i really need advise from the gurus in d house.
I applied via online since June 10, 2018 for a student study permit. This month makes it a year since my application. My visa app is been processed at London office and I've sent countless mails to London VO and d MP of Scarborough in Ontario, (dts whr my skol is located) yet still no intervention nor reply from d VO.
Now, am considering withdrawing my application by mid June 2019 only if i still don't get any news from cic or London visa office so i can reapply again.
Please house, i need guidance as to wat to do abt this whole situation, cos this thing is really a lot to deal with. Mind u, i already ordered n received a GCSM note.
While applying 4d study permit, i didn't do any upfront medicals. Someone pls help a brother out with suggestions n how to go abt this[/quote]

Good afternoon my fellow brothers and sisters. I applied via the paper route on the 10th of May, I linked my application online three days later. Just last week Friday(exactly a week after submission) I found out that my upfront medicals has been updated to passed.
My worry is that it also shows that the eligibility checks has started alongside background checks. Let me also state that I applied with two other friends, we all got funding and we all have same updates. Is this updates normal? Is it following a particular pattern? I am worried and confused because none of us have received any mail from them. Kindly put me thru. Thanks.

Hi Frankrobbn1, could you please explain the parts in bold to me. It sort of contradicts what I know. Do you mean that first applications so not need to submit fingerprints? Aren't fingerprints a part of the biometric identification? Also if they do not submit fingerprints, as a form of biometrics, what then is valid for 10 years?
Thank you.

Frankrobbn1:

Is this your first application? If yes, you don't need to submit your fingerprint to the visa application centre because your biometrics is valid until a decade time. On the other hand, assuming it's not your first time of applying for a temporary resident visa to Canada, you're opt to pay for your biometrics fees $85 prior to the submission of your application. Normally, a biometrics instruction letter (BIL) drops within 24-48hrs after application submission. At this time if the above scenarios doesn't apply to you. Your sporting chance is to raise a CSE to the processing visa office Kenya to assist you with this issue nrobi-immigration@international.gc.ca

Best of luck and keep the house posted.

TRV UPDATE for the week ending May 19th

This week was relatively quiet one - though processing time remained at 9 weeks.

I would encourage those viewing the thread but have not submitted their timeline to please do, as it would help us make logical guesstimates on CIC processing time. Complete information is still needed from Dolapok, Seatea, Oni2019, Promise147, docsaj, Cutieflaky, Teejay30628, Klem28, Boe19, Ancy 26, Omarzx, Hiambenson, Wealthmiq, Teslimot01, Pelumi12, Harveygordon, Alexkrueger, Emeritus00, Chinonye94, Atamanekpen and Okoriekwe).

Finally, if you guys have any ideas on how we can present this information better or what else we can add to it or remove from it, I am always open any adjustment that'll make this better.

Sis,

Nice work you are doing.
Sincerely, God sees your heart and willingness to see pple succeed a testimony you got with your fast approved application and PPR request and collection.

Since I have been on this tread since 2015, No selfless person rendering service on this tread ever left without an approval.

Things do change and application approach change from time to time that’s why I frequent on this tread to learn more when the need arises.

What I will suggest is you to add the ratio of Approval to denials. Secondly, the average time between medical pass to PPR.

I don’t know if I made sense.

All the best to the hopefuls and pls my advice to those coming into Canada, pls no matter how occupied you maybe, pls don’t forget to serve God who made all things possible.

It is perfectly normal for eligibility and background check to run simultaneously. Just keep hoping and praying everything goes according to plan and nothing spikes in the rudimentary checks. All the best.

Thank you for the kind words!
I'll include the ratio of approval to denial but i hope it doesn't freak people out... For the second suggestion, there is already a ratio that tracks average time between medicals passed (both upfront and requested) and PPR...

Thanks for the suggestions...

Good evening guys. I got here from Google after my search.

Someone at Canada asked me to make enquiries about British Council Express entry to Canada.

Currently, I have ND from moshood abiola polytechnic.

He said the exam is about 75k and requirement for entry is international passport.

Please I need information and advise to go about British Council express entry to Canada.

@frankrobbn1 good morning, i have a similar issue . Got a correspondence letter since 6th of may but there’s been no update on the application. Whether approval or refusal, please the application is four months already. It’s a paper application which means my passport has been held since January. Please help me out
Hi Damlovey,

The correspondence letter you received was it a biometrics validity letter which state that your biometrics is valid until a decade? Supposing you received this letter prior to a medical request, it simply means a decision has been reached on your application and your application is likely to be REFUSED
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Chukwuemekatehi(m): 5:17pm On May 19, 2019
I guess the person is talking about IELTS. It is one of the requirements for Express Entry, an immigration route to Canada.
There so many other requirements but this is one of the. You can check out their websites for more info.

Hope this helps.

I see you using word 'co-op' options. Please, what does it means in the context here.
Naijaforeigner:

Most colleges/schools in Ontario are very good and the program as well but please check for information about Sarnia (the city). I have come across some people say Sarnia is boring and so forth but please make your own findings.

I am based in London, ON and population in London is almost 5 times that of Sarnia. personally, I think London is boring. I can say for sure I will struggle to live in Sarnia. If you are an introvert, you are good to go in Sarnia. Job opportunities? I can't say much.

Just look out for what matters most to you and then you can choose your college accordingly. Check the school website as well.

Once you are ready to go for Co-op (usually after 4 or 8 months of studies in most colleges) you can do it anywhere in Ontario, so that is not an issue.

P.S I am very key on where I live (city) so I take out time to check these things but if you just want to study, then school and choice of program should be what you focus on.

Good evening guys.... am about applying for my study permit and my sponsor which happens to be my dad has two accounts, will I have to tender both statements of accounts since there is money in both accounts
Secondly I applied for a post graduate program which fee is around 16,000cad, the school asked me to pay my first semester fee which am about to pay,so my sponsor's account will be left with 3million,will that enough to tender?

Good day all
Applied on 22 March
With upfront medicals
Biometrics update 2 may
Refusal advice 16th may

I have ordered for GCMS notes.

Hi chibertha,

I regret to hear your study visa to Canada was refused.
I have known your moniker for some time on this thread.... Could you provide clarity to the house the generic reasons that were stated on your refusal letter, the list of documents you submitted with your application and your proposed course of study and the financial provision for your studies in Canada.

Provide the aforementioned information and we will pick it up from there.

Submit the both bank statements in as much as there is funds in both accounts. Unfortunately, 3M is not sufficient enough to cover for your first year tuition and living expenses. Your sponsor (DAD) is expected to have 16,000CAD$ plus additional 10,000CAD$ for your first year living expenses and additional funds left for his dependents and personal welfare.

The amount available will not be enough. 3million wont suffice especially with the fact that that you still have living expenses in the tune of 10kcad to show. Bearing in mind that your father most likely as dependents under him it might raise concerns and the VO might be skeptical over the ability of your father to meet up with future expenses. So if possible I'll advice you work on the account you're presenting and if possible your dad can present other financial documents(stocks, shares, bonds, properties etc) to further boost your application.
