Hi Everybody! I just got AL from Paderborn. I want to book my appointment and I don't know if I should book as Category A or B.

The website says if you're "holding a bachelor's degree with a grade of 1. Class - 2. Lower Class and being accepted for a master's degree (also a DSH course-related admission to the master's program) or PhD study in Germany," and I had a First Class.

The appointment booking website also has this option "Registration for a long term visa (more than 90 days) for students of the category A (TestAS certificate standard score of 100 - 130 / very good B-1 certificate / good B-2 certificate / bachelor's degree 1. Class - 2. Lower Class / scholarship / research hosting agreement)"

I applied for msc Electrical and info technology. Which course did you apply for.

Hope you know you'll be asked to pay 90 euros to write the aptitude test in Lagos?

Congrats, Category B( if you do not fulfill the requirements in A, most importantly the scholarship)

Congratulations on your admission. Unless you have a German scholarship, you’re for category B.

Wow. It takes 90 days for SL to be screened generally? Or is the timing peculiar to the city your friend applied to? Because, mehnn 90 days is not beans o.

For Hamburg state, YES. I don't know for other states. It veries from state to state. The applicant involved mailed humburg around October after September interview and he was told to wait till after 90days. And trust me they completed that in December. First week of Jan this year AM dropped.

Help a brother. Leibniz is asking me to send Letter of application with motivation. what does it means?

Guess you graduated with higher CGPA. ☺

So you mean someone with SL can't get visa before 90 days

I did not mean so. I only gave an example of likely frustration with a case I know about. SL verification period/conditions could differs from state to state.

Please people:

Which schools still have their applications on? I am particularly looking for those with chemistry-related courses and that accept EPL, online application and maybe mailing of documents. No Uni-assist!

Thanks.

Chemistry no too get many options. Check bremen,FH Münster, FAU, FSU Jena. George August Universität. Bonn. Bayreuth. I’m not sure if their deadline has passed thou. You’ll be limiting your options without TOEFL exam and uniassist but you’ll surely get. Just check them out.

Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 6 by Greatgrace19(m): 3:41am On May 20, 2019
I have been given admission since December last year, but I had to defer to this year summer due to circumstances. How do I open the block account? Do I need to get to the German embassy or I will have to book online for an appointment. Please I need guidance on how to go about the Visa application process.

Ps: I was told by some guy that the process has changed that I need to apply five months to ahead of departure. How true is this info.

Thanks for this vital info. So for a prospective Hamburg student that intends to use SL, what's your advise on how to go about this situation?

Maybe, if the SL is prepared/ issued to the applicant's sponsor at Hamburg office. Maybe this will help save time when Lagos embassy forward it along with other application doc to Hamburg for approval after interview.

Note this is only a suggestion.

Thanks. That means it's better one gets his SL before his/her interview at the Lagos embassy, right?

Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 6 by Fabcol(m): 9:15am On May 20, 2019
I assume u mean winter
For block account, Go to play store and download fintiba app. If u follow the instructions and steps correctly, your block account should be ready within 48hrs. You don't need to go to the German embassy

https://service2.diplo.de/rktermin/extern/choose_categoryList.do?locationCode=lago&realmId=347
Above is the link to book appointment..If you have scholarship from a German organization then book under category A if not book category B

For the documents required for visa processing(I e documents you would present on your interview day) visit the German embassy site(https://nigeria.diplo.de/), go to visa>>student visa, you would see the student visa checklist(PDF) on that page

Finally read previous pages starting from part5 you would see possible interview questions and other resourceful information.
