Finally this page woke up from the grave.

Newsflash: man dey find Werkstudent oh evej despite being in STEM.

Peeps in big cities enjoy a lot of benefits except house rents grin.

Side note: the best time to learn Deutsch is while in Nigeria. If you're thinking of coming here before you do, you might end up learning nothing.

I can't count the number of times I have started learning Deutsch and stopped because I am doing self learning, I have to study and make ends meet as well.

Hopefully, the paid online course I am doing now works for me and during this semester break, I can enroll in a language class.

Feels good to read the banters here once again, I dearly missed it. Wishing everyone a lovely summer ahead, and best of luck to incoming applicants. Can’t wait for my favorite autumn season lol.

Elders in Germany, what is/are your opinion on my MSc choice of course; Materials Science. I need to know the job opportunities after studies and if it is one of those highly sought after courses in Germany. Make son of man no go knack head for wall and start opening threads after studies.

It all depends on who you are and what you want. I have friends that studied Environmental science and are now doing their PhD in Germany and other EU countries. One got a job after an internship as well in Düsseldorf. Major key? Study whatever you choose really well and add as many employable skills as possible. Of course, learn as much Deutsch as possible. A course like Material science will no doubt have PhD tracks, or you might even be able to get an internship at a research institute along the line. One has to be careful when choosing a course to study in Germany though, cos it gets tough and you need interest and passion to get through at times.

God bless

1. Not everyone wanna do PhD, and from what I heard, after your PhD in Germany, you become overqualified for most job vacancies and you must get job that requires PhD before you get your blue card to work in Germany.
I heard that you cannot do PhD and get an Msc job (I don't know the authenticity of that information) , you must get PhD job with a particular salary scale or get back to Nigeria after post graduation grace.

2. Almost everyone wanna study a course that is in demand in Germany, but one's Bsc limits him on the course he can apply for Msc unless you wanna start afresh from Bsc.
Example, you can't have Bsc in Botany and then Msc in electrical and electronic engineering.
So your Msc is always in line with your Bsc and therefore you don't really have choice to select the best course for Msc if that course is not in line with your Bsc education

Of course!! I didn’t mean PhD is the only way out... Just that, sometimes there are doors that open even when we didn’t knock. It’s one possibility. About the rank of jobs you have to get with a PhD in hand, I’m not privy to this information so I can’t argue for or against it. All the same, choose carefully and pursue your career with passion.

You still need to pay your semester ticket. You still need money for security deposit. Whether big or small, the reality is that 400 isn't just enough.

For TU chemnitz. $400 can take you a whole month.
You pay semester ticket once every semester so it's not part of monthly expenses. Aside that, school accommodation ranges from €170 - €260 depending on your taste. Health insurance is €92 and for other expenses if you spend humbly €70 should be enough. I am there so I know how expenses are for me.

Please, I want to know how the Agricultural Space in Germany looks like. I will like to pursue my MSc in the field of Agriculture.

Is it something that is feasible? I read everyone pointing on ICT/IMT. But, we know our strength and weakness. Is there job availability for that field? Which city would you recommend?

NB: Please, Gurus in the house should throw more hints on the above.

Thank you in Anticipation.

Danke grin wink smiley

Anyway gurus in the house please enlighten us oh abeg cos me sef follow study Agriculture grin grin grin

I sincerely plead for sincere and genuine advice here. I have a BSc and MSc in Accounting. Presently on my doctorate but just through with my course work. I recently observed that even with a PhD in Nigeria, u are on guaranteed a good placement. My friends that have graduated are scouting for offers at private universities. I decided to apply for an MBA at the University of Pforzheim, Germany. I have had an online interview with the school and was given a conditional admission pending on when I submit a GMAT score. Though the MBA isn't tuition free. A semester fee is about 1.2m. I just want to know if an MBA has prospects and it's worth the financial commitments? Pls advise. @Pompido, heybaby, Gotten, others pls. pls you can drop Ur email so I reach you. 08081611248
