Let there be an upgrade and proper backup on the 'deadwood' players first. It is more risky to scatter and start from no foundation. The coaches might also not want to risk that.

I can't bear being in mid table next season because new players are adapting like Di Maria and Falcao.

2017/2018, when we finished 2nd many people felt those old players caused us more points. This season, their appearances were limited and we finished far worse.
That’s not true. Their appearances weren’t limited in the just concluded season. Young, Smalling, Matic played a prominent part and caused more goals than the previous season.

The deadwood shouldn’t have backups they should be replaced or be the backups.

Meanwhile Sanchez is now an actor...Are you sure we will not call EFCC to investigate this guy?

We have much to lose if Smalling, Young, Jones, Matic are regular starters next season.
You can see now that you didn't understand my initial point?

Leyqute:
No, it isn’t.

Young-33
Smalling-29
Lindelof-24
Shaw-23
Matic-30
Pogba-26
Herrera-29
Lingard-27
Martial-23
Rashford-21
Lukaku-26
Sanchez-30
Jones-26
Mata-31
Dalot-20 or so

These are the players who featured most for Utd last season. What’s the average age? 27 years. How low is that?
How many player start a football match? We are talking about average age of starting 11.

Moreover, what was the average of Inter Milan that won the UCL in 2010? Chelsea 2012?

At this rate we won't be challenging for top 4 in those years anyway. I'm not advocating to sell 10 - 15 players. But theres probably aleast 4/5 that needs to be replaced in the starting lineup and some of those high earners not good enough to start can be replaced by academy players deemed good enough.
There is a difference between starting line up and total squad. I am talking of keeping a big squad with experienced players.

They played far less games than previous seasons. They were still very key to our winning runs when Ole newly took over.

You and I know no coach will sell these players, particular Matic and Smalling. Personal emotions or sentiments don't dictate to professional football team coaches.
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 8:14pm On May 21, 2019
Age of Inter Milan players when they won the UCL 2010.

Zanetti 37 years
Lucio 32 years
Walter Samuel 32 years
Maicon 29 years
Christian Chivu 30 years
Esteban Cambiasso 30 years
Wesley Sneijder 26 years
Diego Milito 31 years
Goran Pandev 27 years
Samuel Eto 29 years
Julio Cesar 31 years

I am even saying we should keep experience as squad players.

Pick 11 most featured players this season at Utd and calculate their average age. It won’t be less than 26.

You’re still wrong.

LoL. It’s moot that that Chelsea squad is aged. Moreover, didn’t they finish 6th that season?

And the question was how many successful top teams these days parade an aging squad? If you look far enough, you’ll find a team of 40-year olds winning a trophy.

That’s wrong. Pogba was the key to Ole’s winning run. And Rashford.

Not Young, Valencia or Mata. Matic played a role and Herrera was present too but they were not the key.

Young played at least 80% of games this season. Smalling and Matic featured prominently too. (Check attached graphic)

This is not about personal sentiments. I’m talking based on their performances on the pitch. A sensible coach will realize that they have little to nothing to offer and will ship them out.

Will Young, Smalling, Matic will be regular starters at Liverpool or City?

How will new players come in if the dead woods don’t leave?

You do the calculation of average starting 11 of United.

We are not other clubs, we work with players we have. When Inter Won in 2010, there were many young teams.

How can you point only three players to Ole winning streak? Herreira, Matic also helped form a good three man midfield. Young, Shaw, Smalling and Linderlof were there.

Let the new players win their places. Look at Perreira, we sold Fellaini to give himplaying time but no one notices nhim when he comes into matches. Fellaini must announce his presence in a match.

If giving way means old players leaving and average young players coming just because they are young, no no no.

last him I checked, the permissible maximum number of registerable players (EPL) is 25...with atleast 8 of them homegrown.

Bearing this in mind, how do we keep "everybody" like you are suggesting?
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 8:49pm On May 21, 2019

In a football team, new players win their places. We had Garry Neville, Brown and Oshea playing the right back for United in 2008/2009 when Rafael Da Silver came, Neville said he knew he had to give way. We fans all submitted that we had someone capable of taking us to the next level.Neville retired because he could not afford to sit on the bench. Brown stayed because he became a deputy right back and center back. Oshea was all weather.

Not bringing 'Stanley Okoro' to replace Mata just because Stanley is young. Let Stanley prove that Mata is no longer relevant at all.

There's a rotten culture of laziness and a host of other vices in the squad at the moment and we run the risk of corrupting/infecting new arrivals and promotions if we don't attack the rotteness from the core by decimating some of the dead wood that are reservoirs for these diseases

In one of the concluding matches of the season, Chong came on as a sub and in the first few minutes, he was opening as much space as he could with some intelligent movement but the 10 other idiots had no idea how to help him utilize it.
Before that game finished he had regressed to the level of their Moronic and lifeless off ball movements.

Manchester City has 35 players

The extras are U21s who are also eligible (so as to fill up positions in times of severe injury crises).

The main squad cannot be more than 25 players

Who are the 10 under 21 in that squad?

But he was poor when he came on in match 37. Many misplaced passes.

You cannot use one match to judge a young player. Macheida, Obertan, Januzaj, Jackson, etc come to mind.

I don't think we should sell Sanchez his still needed and useful to the team I don't think the board or the manager will want to swap him.

Our senior squad has 22 players. We need 3 players to make it 25 first. We have signed one, remaining two.

We stand nothing to lose on the field of play keeping the players we have now and still bringing in those we have to bring. But we have so much to lose if the players we bring in have no back ups and some are flops.
Just imagine we sell Pogba after we've lost Herrera and the Two replacements we sign end up being flops( We've been a victim of this a lot in recent times ). Then next season will be disastrous.
