GeoAfrikana:
Didn't she know the code before accepting the job?

It's only in Nigeria, Kenya and some other barbaric African countries that people will be constituting public nuisance in the name of religion.

For example, they get to government office in the morning and start chanting religious songs in congregation. In fact thry turn the office to a mini-worship place for the next 15-30mins. Time that the government pays them for because it believes that they are already working.

it's normal, as a religious person, for you to pray before leaving your home or on getting to work. But you can simply do that silently and personally. Did God tell you that he won't accept your prayers until you shout, constitute nuisance and violate people's privacy?

And come to think of it, missionary hospitals outnumber government hospitals in many parts of the country. If these claims of miracle were true they shouldn't have had any need to build those hospitals.

I think she deserves it. Yes she does. Good for her, and a lesson to others.

My brother, I left my last job because of this. Everyone was forced to pray for long durations in the mornings. Vigils were conducted at the company's premises once a month. Muslim staff among us were compelled to join or be sacked. Our boss was an overzealous member of MFM.

As a new management staff, I could not take such barbarism and total disrespect for the beliefs of others, hence I walked away.

It's been over 5 years now and I run my own firm. In my organization, office prayer is strongly discouraged. Staff are encouraged to keep their religious beliefs private and within the prescints of their places of worship.

As much as I emphasize with her in her predicament, I think this is a challenge to her to take her Christianity to a stance beyond words into power. She didn't have to present her faith to them before getting them heale . All she needed to do was go there, lay her hands and they are healed. If those people she had spoken to actually got healed, we wouldn't be hearing of this lawsuit. If we must practice Christianity, let us practice it in full.

if I became a president I will ban all form of religious advertisements, all religious should hold on to there belief and let anyone interested walk up to their place of worship and get to know about them. If I have my religion and you approach me with yours, then in short you trying to tell me mine is rubbish. That is provocative and can result into disturbance of public peace. We have enough false advertisements in commercial markets. Religious is too personal for this level of provocative top dressing.

SIRTee15:
A nurse who offered a bible to a cancer patient and encouraged him to sing The Lord is My Shepherd was fairly dismissed, a court has ruled.

Sarah Kuteh was given the sack from her job at Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford, Kent, in 2016 for repeatedly talking to patients about her faith and handing out a bible, in breach of Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) rules.

A ruling, published last week by the Court of Appeal, stated that on June 3 2016 a patient at the hospital had complained about Ms Kuteh's conduct.

The court heard how the patient likened the incident to a 'Monty Python skit', which he said was 'very bizarre' - in which she encouraged him to sing along with Psalm 23 with her.

The ruling, which upheld a decision that she was fairly dismissed by the Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust, stated: "On 20 June 2016, the Complaints Department noted a call from a patient being treated for cancer concerning his assessment by the Claimant on 3 June 2016.

"He had replied "open minded" to the question on the form concerning religion and alleged the Claimant had told him that the only way he could get to the Lord was through Jesus.

"(She) told him she would give him her bible if he did not have one; gripped his hand tightly and said a prayer that was very intense and went "on and on"; and asked him to sing Psalm 23 [The Lord is My Shepherd] after which he was so astounded that he had sung the first verse with her.

"He described the encounter as 'very bizarre' and 'like a Monty Python skit'.

The court documents also point to a number of other incidents, in which Ms Kuteh told a bowel cancer patient in April 2016 'that if he prayed to God he would have a better chance of survival'

Another complaint, again in April 2016, came from a patient who said Ms Kuteh 'spent more time talking about religion than doing the assessment', and another, the same month, came from a patient who said they didn't want to see Ms Koteh as they 'didn't like preaching'.

Miss Kuteh, a 50-year-old mum of three, was suspended from her job in June 2016 and sacked for gross misconduct in August the same year, with her dismissal upheld by an employment tribunal later the same year.

She appealed the ruling of the tribunal in 2017, but failed in her bid to have her sacking overturned, but was allowed to work as a nurse again in July last year after her working restrictions were lifted by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Ms Kuteh, however, appealed for a second time against her sacking to the Court of Appeal - saying the employment tribunal had 'failed to consider the correct interpretation of the NMC Code and the distinction between appropriate and inappropriate expressions of religious beliefs'.

She also said the tribunal had failed to acknowledge that Article 9 of the European Convention on Human Rights - Freedom to manifest one's religion or beliefs - was 'applicable' and to 'consider the fact-sensitive distinction between true evangelism and improper proselytism'.

Judges at the Court of Appeal, however, rejected the nurse's most recent appeal, saying she was not unfairly dismissed in a ruling published last week.

The Christian Legal Centre - which represents Ms Kuteh - said she is currently in discussion with her legal team to consider her next step.

Atheist and foolish talk can be very difficult to differentiate
bust your bubble ,you don't have to be am atheist to use your head. If you are not seeing preaching as a business then tell me how it will feel if a native doctor comes to preach to you .... He lays hand on you , knock on your door with his belief. What we saying is if I have a need for native doctor I know where to see him. If I need a pastor I go to church . stop invading people space with your Bible giving right to preach. If you go to the north now and start saying oh their prophet is fake in the open and you get attacked ,you will come here and start propaganda. Think about it

It’s not a crime to offer sm1 a Bible or any books pls. If she failed in carrying out her necessary medical care then we have a case. Talking to sm1 is still motivation
it is a crime, If I employ a nurse or doctor, I expect professional medical services from them during their contracted hours, if I wanted religious service I will employ a pastor or an imam. So the advice the nurse should be giving to her patients should be medically inclined services.

Without God in your work activities, what you're doing is pointless. The doctors prescription for a cancer patient the medicines and all, where made by God because God wants a man well, he doesn't give you sickness.

Just think about this as wicked as the devil is, do you think he'll want a man well and whole?

Nurses don’t only give medical advice I’m sorry they say anything to motivate the patient. What professional advice can u give that she hasn’t been saying previously. There are certains situations they cheer u up with none medical advice pls.
