Thank you Joo. So I’m close right? Cause he said if I don’t hear from them by 15 June, I should call back that they are at the stage of transferring the file to the nearest VO for finalization.

Also I want to specially thank you for always answering my questions and you won’t imagine how happy I was when you received your PPR.

Your local VO which if you are a Nigerian resident is Accra. That is where you will submit your passports to.

Thou shalt not be afraid.

1. There are lots of videos on youtube of people taking sample speaking tests. Watch them.
2. Take tests and record yourself. Listen to the recording and looks to ways to improve.
3. Find someone to listen to you taking tests and critiquing.

Arosam:
I don't know if i should call it Speech Disability or not, my listening, reading and writing is way better than my speaking. The thought of this gives me goosebumbs.
Am already scoring 8.5, 7, 7.5 on Listening and reading test, i think my writing isn't so bad but speaking scares me. Please guys i need help!!

You are close. Next is PPR.

The PPR letter is usually the last action of a processing office prior to transferring to the local VO for finalizing (final decision, CoPR and visa).

My heart truly As per child benefits in Canada, please trash that idea, only go pick it up from the dump if all else fails & you're still fired up.
Child benefits with avoidable family separations & devoid of emotional support - is that one benefit?
but i did not refer to her husband specifically na. I have friends facing same too. Husband is not interested in going.

Be also there to advise her when her marriage ends in divorce o. Let’s call a spade a spade. Abeg, forget that, ‘you can survive in Canada as a single mother’. She may go ahead with the Express Entry process for now, but finally, going to Canada without her husband’s approval and company is simply asking for a divorce. Who in Canada will want to marry a single mother with 3 kids when their father is still alive? Loneliness is real o! There is a kind of loneliness that your kids cannot solve, and that only a partner can quench. So it is a simple but difficult choice — Canada/divorce or continued marriage/love. You must point this to her when you advice: ‘so when your PR comes, will you want to risk your marriage because of Canada if your husband still refuses to agree to only you going?’

Even though I am also in the race to land in Canada, I will always reiterate that Canada is not everything; everything in this life is vanity. In some situations, one needs to weigh their options properly before they decide any action, and they need to be prepared to face the consequences.
WORD!!!

It’s not uncommon for most men to stall with immigrating from their comfort zone to an unknown destination due to fear of the unknown. However, it’
s your job to drag him along no matter how challenging it will be for the sake of your Children, and the fact that you have seen the bigger picture, i.e greater opportunity, safer environment etc. whatever the case maybe for you, donor give up on this dream, you’l regret It later in life, knowing that you had the opportunity. What you can do is, keep talking about canada 8in your home, talk about ielts, have him read your essays, practice speaking with you, in no time, he will begin to turn around seeing the effort you are putting into this. Also, send him YouTube videos about canada, there are tons of it. Lovely scenery, child care benefits, and so on. All this will register in his subconscious and before you knob it, he will take over the application. You know your husband best, work on his psyche, apply wisdom. Al the best.
Rence22:
My fellow nairalanders. I appreciate your help so far despite the fact that I haven't really gone too far. I am just at the ECA stage and registered for ielts next month. It's with a very great sadness that I might have to pull out of this canny dream. Really sad for me. hubby has seriously been reluctant. Says he loves his Naija and God has not instructed him to leave Nigeria and until he receives his heavenly dream from God, he is not going anywhere. He actually said if I want to go badly, I should. But here's the problem, with 3 kids ages 5 3, and 1.5 years old. How do I cope with daycare, job search, mobility, picking up from schools, groceries, and upkeep alone in Canada. To worsen it, he isn't supporting financially. I even offered and begged to have him sit for ielts and his eca with my monthly pay he reluctantly said yes but I thought, one can only force a horse to the river but not to drink. Without his help how will I survive with 3 beautiful kids alone in Canada. He is not even batting an eye concerning the benefits. He's a speedy driver, says cars are meant for speed how will such a person cope with Canadian traffic rules. These and some little others have just weakened me especially my children and the highest I can even leave them is a week. We are that close that they have never gone to bed without my hug and kisses. I dont have any family over there to help with. Good night.

Thanks Scandinavian02 and PreciousRuby, I'll send them a mail and attach my payment reciept and hope they respond and rectify the issue. I would have gone there in person but I'm not in Nigeria at the moment.

THE STORY SO FAR

Hey guys!

It has been a long while since I visited this thread (or is it called trend?), and today, I felt I should share what has been going on at my end with the hope of encouraging someone.

So, when I started this journey November, I was so excited, and I felt passing IELTS and getting ITA was going to be a breeze until IELTS 'jammed me'.

My first attempt was January 19, and I was so sure of getting nothing less than 8 in writing, but, alas, I had L-9, R-8.5, W-6.5, S-7, and I didn't even stop there because I asked for EOR, but it came back unchanged.

However, I didn't give up, and I booked the next available date, April 9th, and the test was computer delivered, and yay! I passed!
L-9, R-9, W-7, S-7, but it did not end there, and in fact, that is where my story begins because I asked for EOR again. Actually, at this point, my score was 444, and I had been hoping to at least get 450.

You see, after my first attempt, I came to this forum for assistance, and I joined Wasseynewest's writing group to familiarise myself with the essay structures, @bunmioluwa also introduced me to writeandimprove.com, a wonderful site for IELTS. Furthermore, I downloaded Grammarly app on my laptop, from the Microsoft store, and that made me realise some of my writing mistakes, and I worked on these by watching some youtube videos.

When I started practising with writeandimprove.com, my score was 6.5, but, before the test, I was consistently getting 8, sometimes 8.5, under examination conditions. So, that prompted me to ask for a remark when my results came out because I badly needed 3 extra points at least.

Fortunately, as God would have it, I got 6 points extra because I received my EOR report today.

L-9, R-9, W-7.5, S-8. Halleluyah somebody!

I guess what I am trying to say is that you should seek assistance when you need it because in this journey, being full of yourself isn't going to help you one bit, and secondly, even if you 'pass' the test, and you need extra points, consider asking for a remark first before rewriting the test. You might be surprised!

Thank you @wasseynewest @bunmioluwa and every other person that dropped one tip or the other when I needed it most.

I wish you all the best.

I scored 7 in speaking and I never for one day say I was practising speaking. In my opinion, I believe this is the cheapest module. It lasts between 11 and 14 minutes.
All I saw was just a discussion between I and a middle aged woman. Even when she offered me a pencil to jot down, I didn't have anything to write down as I kept talking until she stopped me.

Maybe, because my wife says I talk a lot and brands me a noisemaker all the time, so I decided to use it to my advantage.

Just put it at the back of your mind that you are going to have a conversation with a new friend.

I wish you the best.

Weldone everyone!

I have been a silent reader as I have the intention to apply for canada express entry.

I am aware I need to evaluate my qualification/s but I am not sure of the occupation to nominate.

Below are my qualifications;
MBA from federation university Australia

Bsc from Oxford Brookes

I have more than 3 years working experience as an accountant overseas BUT I am not sure if nominating Accounting will be a good idea as my highest qualification is MBA which I Think its generic.

Are there people who have use MBA for the express entry process ?
Is there anyone that got his PR as an accountant as I will like to evaluate my qualifications this week.

Please, make una help una brother
