The story you are looking for is above you. But just ask yourself why( odudua ) was so popular ?
Is it inferiority complex? Insecurity? Do you see us derailing you peoples threads? Who is talking about Oduduwa or Yoruba in this?

It’s a simple informative piece on the Ora people.
But there you guys go again being tribal.

This is why Africa is so behind. The energy that should be spent developing technology and your economy is wasted on trivial supremacy battles on culture and which tribe came from who

Use that intellect and that type of passion for something more useful

Some people are so blinded by lies, they ignored the obvious. Who conquered OGISO?

Almost 200 years after the departure of the Uokha people, another group left Benin. While the Uokha represented the conquered Ogiso people, Ora emerged from the political establishment of the kingdom. Ora formed a community, a cluster of six villages and numerous wards or quarters.

I've met a few Ora people and they are quite nice I even think a first cousin is married to one. Their mannerisms are similar to the Bini people

No. They are located between Iruekpen and Uhonmora

I've always wondered. They are in Owan West but I have never seen them refer to themselves as "Ora". Would you know what their sub-ethnic group they consider themselves to be? Esan possibly? I've always looked at them as a border community between Esan West and Owan West.

Some people are so blinded by lies, they ignored the obvious. Who conquered OGISO?

Evian dislodged the ogiso dynasty after the last ogiso died with only one banished son.

Evian killed a monster disturbing EDO and was made chief by popular acclaim bringing the ogiso period to an end and necessitating a mass migration for people loyal to the ogiso system.

The chiefs tried to play a fast one after the death of Evian, they made sure his son didn't ascend the throne and invited the banished son of the ogiso to rule. They wanted to unite the kingdom.

But that only caused more problems, oduduwa was already old and he sent oramiyan, the son of Evian took full political power and made sure oramiyan could never set foot in Benin. Oramiyan ran away when he couldn't make headway after he had impregnated a princess.

It was eweka his son with the help and training of the chiefs that defeated Irabor the son of Evian and formed the eweka dynasty. He had truce with Irabor who "sold" Benin to him, to be renewed whenever a new oba is installed.

After eweka took power those loyal to Evian also migrated.

There was another migration during the time of Ewuare and also Ozolua.

Sometimes, I wonder why it took so long for folks within Edo to come out and tell the real stories the most prominent Bini historian wrote.

Pathological liars have distorted his great work just to sit on the shoulder of their Oba father and claim he is their son.

We have heard the truth for so many generations from the Urhobo to Ijaw to Ishan prominent son, Enahoro (personally).

Yet, they keep on repeating the same lies.

Please, let us move on so that we can hear more from other Edo people. The story of Ekhalerhan from Ughoton was just as moving and compelling because he was popular there and no soldier from Bini would dare capture him among his people until his death.

Please let us hear from more people in the area and learn history of our people.

Thanks.

The People of Ozallas' history can be traced to Ora but they do not refer to themselves as ora people cos they were banished and exist as their own clan.

Prince Uguan had a son who came out with his legs during childbirth according to history which was regarded as a taboo then. That occurrence was referred to as Uza. The child founded Ozalla clan and they are a part of Owan West L.G.A.

Pleaae the people should change the name back to the original.
How can a native town in Edo be carrying Hausa name?

The change will surely take place someday.

Good to know this tribe didn’t come from Israel like some people claim about their ancestors.

No tribe in west Africa came from Israel, the people claiming they came from Israel are either foolish or have no knowledge of their history.

Is mostly the Igbos and we know where they came from.
