So, please do not cancel your visa appointment request if you have booked in category B for category A UNLESS you have a SCHOLARSHIP. I am stating this from experience and AUTHORITATIVELY. That is all I can say and cannot say anymore. I REPEAT DO NOT CANCEL. Those that have ear let them hear. The lady with the instruction purportedly from the embassy is a receptionist moreso, don't you think of the fact that those who sowed the seed of cancellation might have booked their appointment late and started it to get people to cancel their stuff, so as to push their application forward ahead of those who booked before them?

I repeat those that have ear let them hear and no further comment from me.

I quoted your whole post because you probably work at the embassy with the way you said you'd see everyone you've quoted at their interview. Instead of doing this and waiting for people to be sent home why don't you please in all your benevolence; same one you came to post here with advising us to stay off A tell the embassy that their appointment booking categorizing instructions isn't clear enough. Its stated that we have to fulfill one of the criteria listed to book category A but 4 out of the 6 criteria can be attained without scholarships and yet everyone that fits onto the criteria has to tick that they do possess a scholarship. Is that fair enough?

And also, since its a faceless forum you could be anybody; you might have no single tie to the embassy and have just come to scare off everyone because you know how emotional people(Nigerians) get about travelling abroad and you decided to exploit their weaknesses. Category A folks have reasonable convictions to go that route so does Category B believers.

My advise, book a certification appointment, go with your documents as if you truly want to certify, it gets you through Paulinus. Ask questions at your certification about the category, maybe just maybe we'd get more clarifications. Shooting our opinions down here has proven to be detrimental than advantageous.

I should add, the lady at the call/help desk truly doesn't know what she talks about, I have a recorded conversation where someone going for another bsc (without fulfilling any of the languages criteria listed in A) was asked to book A by her (I mean isn't that obvious misinformation). Biko enough with the foul exchange of opinions, Its helped No-one.

wärmste Grüße

Bro there are two boxes there.. Abuja(has no asterisk) and scholarship... The asterisk on the scholarship was intensional
lilfreezy:

It's possible the scholarship tick stuff might be a programming glitch. After hearing from them directly what excuse do you have for not booking A.

If you have doubts call the embassy directly and hear from them. Stop second guessing.

Either A or B i have canceled B and booked A not because of the bandwagon effect but because I have a scholarship (which the embassy did not state the minimum amount required explicitly) even if it is (€350) I still have my proof in case things go south and I would block my funds once I get appointment date and before going for my interview.

Hello, do you mean you would be certifying your documents on Monday at the German embassy?
If this is correct, can you help ask the almighty category question?

Please, not a matter of try o.
A lot of people are hanging on this.
Once you go in and drop your documents, before coming out please ask, If you cannot, ask the people that will be doing visa interview to ask and then when they come one you can get information.
Do you know the information we want to get?

Well what is the Abuja option doing there in the first place? After all we have an application portal for Abuja residents or those from Northern states separately. This is for South! (Lagos).
What if the condition of ticking the scholarship is not meant for the submission of the form but rather for the “Abuja”. I mean for you to have the option of having your interview in Abuja and you not from the northern state then you must have a scholarship even though your state of origin is not from the “North” . Just to give those who have scholarship preference rather than waste time in Lagos due to too much applicant. In the past on this thread, that’s what I know Abuja embassy for.
My thought is that this is a new development, and I don’t think people can’t make mistakes.

Guys about this interview booking issue, in as much as we all have our different views, I want us to take note of the following
Applicants with scholarships are treated first and faster than any other category. There is always a distinction between them and others.

Majority of applicants going for masters have a 2.1 or 2.2, it's not logical to place them on the same category as those with scholarships.

Does it mean that only 3rd class and bsc will book with category B? Don't you think they would have been more specific if that's what they wanted?

I booked category B and am not canceling. What do I have to loose even if I should have booked A. Better safe than sorry!!
