I used ieltsbuddy.com and the cambridge series. Got 8.5.

Choose True if the question or statement can be found and correlates with what is written in the text/passage even if it has been paraphrased. They are often times paraphrased to confuse candidates.

Choose False if the question or statement can be found but DOES NOT correlate with the information from the text/passage. Paraphrased or not.

Choose Not Given if the question or statement CANNOT be found in the text/passage even if it feels true/false based on your experience or knowledge.

Hope this helps. All the best.

I learnt T,F,NG using IeltsLiz. The key thing with the reading exam is time management. Answer the questions you find easiest first and the harder ones last.

Aim to finish in 35 - 50 mins and then use the remaining time to go over your answers - especially the answers you are not, sure of.

Do let me know if you need any further help.

Thank you. When practicing, I flawlessly get the other answers correctly, except for T,F, NG. I have no idea why it is so difficult to grasp. cry

I have sent you a PM.

Good evening all,

Please I need clarification on sths.

I am Pre-ITA, currently sitting in the pool and I already got my reference letter from HR dated May 9th, 2019 (Level - ET) However, I recently got promoted and my promotion letter is dated May 10th, 2019 (New Level - ABO). The job function, Title (Relationship Officer) and working hours did not change, the initial letter also did not carry salary amount.

To my question:

1. Do I need to get a new reference letter, even though nothing is really changing apart from the level? Or can I just submit the old one without my promotion letter?
2. Since my salary wasn't stated, and our payslips do not carry official logos, can I just print my statement and highlight all salary payments?
3. The promotion came with salary increase which reflected in the last salary payment. If I do not submit a promotion letter as proof of the increase in salary amount, will it raise any queries?

Looking forward to your great opinions.

Congratulations on your promotion. Please which NOC are you using as a relationship officer

Why do a 1year Tbills for a 6 month visa application? What would the VO think? Of course technically you can liquidate anytime but the VO has to be assured that the Tbills are accessible to you and the funds are solely planned for that purpose, a 1yr Tbills doesn't exactly show that at surface glance. Might create doubts in the mind of the VO.

@Nat138 we still await your PPR story details wink

Lol @ladymarshall just saw your mention. So full details below. Forgive me in advance, I am not a good story teller.

A friend of mine told me about EE way back in 2016 but I was tied up with other activities, so decided to shelve the idea for another time. Fast forward to end of 2017, I had experienced so many set backs but I was determined to get a new lease of life and soldier on. I registered for IELTS in Dec, wrote the exam in Jan in Accra (I was moving around a lot at the time). Locked down IELTS at that first go, did my ECA with WES, it was easy breezy. Had my evaluation completed in under a month (evaluated only a foreign masters), ITA came in Mar, 18, AOR: May 21st, 2018

Then it was SILENCE! No communication apart from "how to get a job" email in June 18. I registered and attended a Welcome to Canada session in July 18. Got the 'how to get a job email' early June and since it was usually speculated then that this email usually came from London VO, I decided to lock up for the next six months been aware of how unpredictable London used to be and carry on with my life. I actually prayed against my application going to London but I suspected there was a high possibility it would end up there. When my Application passed the 6 month point, I filled a web form in Nov, 18 asking for my visa Office, but I never got a response, finally decided to order GCMS notes on 19th Dec, 18.

Tried calling IRCC a couple of times but I was never put through to an agent. On the 28th of Dec 18, I decided to call them at 8am Toronto time and was successfully put through to an agent who informed me my file was in Accra!!!! shocked shocked shocked. In fact I almost wept! If I had known, I would have kuku prayed against Accra and London. Anyway, I sent Accra an email in early Jan 2019 requesting for an update of my application, got the generic response "your application is in queue for a review". Prayers intensified o.

Received the notes on 18th Jan 19. Notes showed my file was transferred to Accra in June 18, that was the last time any thing was done on the file apart from the records of my web form request which was never responded to, phone calls made and request for the notes, nothing was amiss. Just that checks had not been started. However the notes showed my employer had been contacted and bank statement checked. In fact to say I was at a loss as to what to do is an understatement. Different scenarios just kept running in my mind; what if a decision wasn't made till my medicals expired (medicals wer due to expire April, 19)? I even asked the question on here on the process for redoing medicals. I sent Mr Goodale an email on 7th Feb 19, got response 15th Feb that they were busy and will get back to me but nothing till date.

On 8th Feb, I got an update On my CIC account for ADR(schedule A, form imm 5406, updated POF statement and Salary account statements). I had submitted my application with 5 months pay slips along with my reference letter which was noted in my GCMS notes. So getting an adr for salary account statements was a bit odd, I didn't even know how far back they wanted the statement for as no time ranges were given. At the point of this ADR I had left the job I claimed points for over a year and I had worked on the job for about 4.5years. So decided to send them salary account statements for my last one year at the org.
I gathered all docs and submitted on Feb 11th, 19.

Summary of dates;
IELTS: 20/1/2018 LRWS 8, 8.5,7.5,7
ECA completed: Feb 2018
ITA: 14/3/18, CRS 465, cut off was 456
Medicals: 25/4/18
AOR: 21/5/18
MEP: 6/6/18
CSE: raised to submit new passport Dec 2018, as passport was expiring Jan 2019
ADR: 8/2/19 (form 5406, form 5669 , updated POF and Salary account statement)
Submitted ADR: 11/2/19
Remedicals: 25/3/19. Original medicals was due to expire on 25/4/19 but decided to be proactive and do remdecials without IRCC asking for it as I did not want stories that touch. Because with just a month to medicals expiry, there was no way I will travel by thn even if PPR came in the day I did the remedicals
PPR: 3/4/19
Couriered received in Lagos: 11/4/19
COPR: 25/4/19 (just randomly checked my CIC account and noticed a counterfoil doc number, got notification from CIC on 26/4/19). Interestingly this this counterfoil was due to expire on 29/4/19, 4 days after issuance, which means the CSE I had raised to submit the medical form after the re-medicals nor the panel physician's submissions were not noted. Ah confusion set in, I did not have the slightest Idea on what to do, but the AVO whatsapp group came in handy. I was asked to write accra as well as raise a CSE and also call up the panel physician to confirm again that they sent my report. My people this was on a Thursday night, counterfoil was due to expire on Monday, I just jumped on Canadavisa forum as well just to get as much information as possible, I read of people ho were even sent expired counterfoils so decided to calm down. I quickly wrote a strongly worded email to Accra copying in Sydney and Ottawa asking for my file to be checked for my re-medicals. Meanwhile I was also hoping my passport won't be returned till this was sorted, as I would have to pay again for courier and passport transmission. Well, my passport and docs arrived on Monday (29th), see I couldn't even cry. I wondered at the speed the documents got back to me, since COPR was only issued on the 25th. Accra is full of wonders!!!

2nd PPR: 30/5/19
My CSE raised for on the 25th was responded to on 3rd May. Jokers!!!!

2nd COPR: 22/5/19. After 366 days, it ended in PRAISE!!!

Documents submitted:
-passports with stamp pages
- Employment letter in CIC format and 5 months payment slips (NOC code 4163)
- POF: 6 months bank statement, updated to 15 months by ADR
- 2 PCCs (Nigeria and UK)
- uploaded passport photo
- ADR (form 5406, form 5669, updated POF and Salary account statement)
After PPR
- Form IMM008 (though no chnage in family composition, I no like wahala o)
- passport photos from Studio 24, they already have the specifications so did not need to do any measuring permutations and combinations
- travel document
(if anyone does a re-medicals whether by reason of an ADR or being proactive, please make sure you include the medical form given to you by the panel physician, I think this was my undoing with my first document submission. Despite the fact that I had raised a CSE when it was done and the panel physician also sent their submissions, I am sure if I had included it with my docs it would have saved me a lot of time and resources)
Can't remember other things. I raised 2 LOEs which was to inform my bank do not issue letter in CIC format, which meant I submitted statements downloaded from my internet banking platform for submission for both initial application submission and ADR request

I have not fully reacted to getting COPR yet. It has been a long process. I don't even know which is more draining: waiting for PPR or those short weeks between PPR and COPR, imagine having to wait twice!

Below is my rough estimated costs on this journey so far, know the journey has not ended lol. I will put it in all different currencies I used ( rememeber I mentioned at the beginning of the journey I was literally a nomad):
IELTS: £169, TRF courier CFA 20,000
ECA: CAN$233
Nigeria PCC: 10,000NGN (oga Moshood had a field day). I was away from the country at the time so had to finger print and courier to him.
Courier cost: CFA20,000
PCC UK: £55
Medicals at IOM: 41,400NGN *2
POF: single applicant but showed funds for family of 2
RFRP: CAN$ 1,040
Passport Renewal: 25,000NGN
GCMS notes: US$15
Passport transmission + courier: 30,480 * 2
I have not even included flight fares as my city does not have a panel physician sad
Reason I have decided to include these costs is to give newbies an idea of what it entails. The process is not particularly cheap but it is sure worth it. At least I have secured a better future for my unborn kids by God's grace and to some extend my immediate family.

People constantly come on this thread and ask why people with good and well paying jobs are leaving, my constant thoughts are; the good jobs or money can't save you in this country if push comes to shove. I remember a friend's father died from preventive causes the afternoon of the day I submitted my application which was a compelling factor to submit it that day although I still wanted a day or two to still go over it before submitting, but the news shook me to my core. I want my kids to not have to struggle for the bare necessities of daily living and have access to the basics at least of life when it really matters, God keeping us all. So most times when people leave a job paying in high 6 figures for instance to migrant it is mostly planning for the future, giving kids more opportunities that broadens their chances in life as well as peace of mind for daily living; for instance I have been running on generator for almost 4 weeks as 'transformer don spoil', even when it was good I barely had 6 hours electricity daily, this is not living!

my final thoughts, keep busy while waiting. Don't put your life on hold, keep moving. I have changed jobs and moved cities in the course of this process, I know it is easier said than done for most people. Also be straight forward, keep your application simple. This thread is a goldmine and I tell people that if I direct them to this thread to DIY and they still require my assistance, they will have to pay for such services. This remains one of the most straight forward immigrant processes i have seen so far.

PNP is great but tasking and a LOOOONGG process. If you can get a higher CRS by just rewriting IELTS then by all means go the "easier" route.

Just curious,

Why do you guys fret over finding out your application file is in Accra? I understand couples may need to undergo an interview there, but I have read uncountable PPR stories of single applicants 'crying heaven and earth' over finding out there files are in Accra. What happens in that place exactly that gives you people sleepless nights. I'd like to know.

Please enlighten me.

Good Morning house, pls I will like to find out if its possible for me to apply for the express entry as I am in Nigeria and my wife is in the United States. The Medicals, biometrics and all, can it be done separately (mine in Nigeria, hers in the US).

Secondly, for police report is scanned fingerprints allowed or it must have to be couriered.

Thank you.

Hello house, I need someone to help me with some issues. I am new to all these Immigration to Canada brouhaha. I didn't give it a thought to leave the country but the situation in this country is something else.

I checked the website here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp to see if I am qualified to apply to Canada but got discouraged. I really need to get 67 to qualify.

I am presently 34 years old and have a B.Sc in Accounting from UNIBEN, and a 5-year work experience with an educational institution. I am yet to sit for IELTS but hope to do that soon. Is there a chance for me to meet the 67 points needed to qualify? If not, how much will getting an ACCA certification affect my qualification chance.

Thanks in advance
