He was in luck that a doctor who knows his onion was onboard. A sizable number would have disowned their profession when "push came to shove". Kudos brother! |

Like seriously. The Man tried. But he over did it ooo. The Diazepam was unnecessary. Can even kill the dying heart faster. The patient could have died had he given it Intravenously or through the Anus..... IM diazepam is as good as not giving anything What saved the Man's life was the CPR ( chest compression). Am just surprised that the air hostess are not trained to give *BLS* (Basic Life support). They don't even have AED on board |

Wonderful by the doctor. It is highly inspirational. Things of the nature shows our heart, what we do without a payment. We remained humans. |

Alzirida:And the convulsions could also have killed him! If you want to intubate during CPR won't you sedate, if he is still conscious. I think he had to abort the seizures sha. But truth be told, it just wasn't the man's time to die... No AED, no assistance-- the guy was doing the CPR alone, meaning it was not efficient. ![]() Na God go save us for Naija sha |

| Re: Nigerian Doctor Saves ‘dying Man’ On Azman Airline Flight [PHOTOS] by matify83: 5:32pm On May 26, 2019 |
Alzirida:I concur, The intramuscular injection of diazepam was a no no. Those air hostessess should have basic knowledge of resuscitation especially in the use of automated electric. Defibrillator. "Our patients survive INSPITE of our treatment sometimes" Let him bask in this limelight atleast. |

Airport worth billions of naira cant make ambulance available. Emergency response in this country is very discouraging. In other climes, whoever is responsible for making that ambulance unavailable would have been fired by now. Of course, this is Nigeria, where everything is left for god to do. |

HBB1:In a state of shock there is less tissue perfusion as blood is pooled to more vital organs like the kidneys, brain and heart. That intramuscular diazepam was useless in that situation. All in all, he tried |

matify83:Intramuscular and at that dose wouldn't do much... True, let him bask in the euphoria. The way it was dramatised showed he enjoyed or wants to enjoy the attention ![]() Almost doubted it till I saw pictures. But thank God there was someone who could at least help |

HBB1:U Sound like a medic but from the history he gave, I don't see that as convulsion, it could just be jerking.... People confuse some involuntary movt with convulsion Atropine or Epinephrine should could have been better n |

Alzirida:I agree with you. Adrenaline if available, would have been a better option likewise Hydrocortisone. Diazepam is known to depress the respiratory centers despite being an anticonvulsant. Moreover, considering the patient's homeostasis, intramuscular Valium 5 wouldn't be as dangerous as intravenous. Even raising patients legs while lying supine would have encouraged blood flow to the heart. But overall, the doctor did a good job. |
