Stencil:
Hi! Are you a single applicant? If you have a spouse, points from their IELTS and ECA (evaluation) can help boost your score. Please check your score here.

1. I suggest you start with your evaluation as this typically is a time consuming process. Prepare and write the IELTS as you wait.
2. Nope. One payment should handle everything.
3. This is what I found for PNP

Thank you for your feedback. I consider it helpful

NanaF:

If you are over 40, then provincial nomination is your only option right now. I’m assuming you’re married.

You have two or more degrees. WES will evaluate your HND and BSC at the same price ($200+) , there’s no cost for additional documents at this stage.

Before you spend money on WES and IELTS, spend time on the provincial nomination thread. Reading, asking questions etc, and see what province will be in demand for your NOC or if you have a family member in those provinces that allow nomination. The selection process and requirements are different for each province and may vary over time.

After doing this, you can now talk about WES and IELTS.

Thanks. I will dwell on the PNP and see if there is anything in it for me. Just curious about the whole stuff and just want to try it out considering my skillset. Thanks once again.

I told you just yesterday that though it tarries, please wait for it and God finally did it. Congratulations to you and your family, PPR well deserved but not to forget those your extended families too ooo.

I enjoyed reading this script with so much emotions and it gives me so much joy to be the one to grade it. Although I’d like to give you 9/10 but I’d be giving 7.5/10 because you skipped from ITA to AOR, no POF statement, Medical process, PCC, reference etc. May this decision be the best you’ve ever made

Its PPR!!!!!!!!

I went to my dad's grave and told him i was about to submit my application. i submitted... And went home.
I thought tops my white man i go marry get Carmel babies. Lols.. Or black man but my babies will be Canadians.

Na so people i applied with were getting PPR after three months... In face most of them have landed... Ottawa no reply me. I called CIC every month yet nothing. Is settled my mind to Six months.. I told myself las las they go give me before 6month timeline go reach.

6 months do and pass...that's when depression the stare at me in the face...

I went to Ghana for a short vacation to get out of the circumstances of my life. i didn't want to go far just in case there was an ADR or PPR. am grateful for Ghana. It put things in perspective and i had reached that point that i was fine either way... Whether PPR came or not.
I came back May 8th 2019.

Friday, May 10th 2019 few days to 8 months post AOR i saw i got an update. I quickly checked... It was a ghost update. Na so they next saga started. I called CIC on Monday 13th May, the agent told me that i should expect a letter soon. I waited( thought 8 months was long... Na this was the longest wait) till Friday 17th May. I called CIC again. This time i was told congratulations by the agent that my application had been approved on 13th May 2019 and i should have received a letter from AVO. i said ah wetin AVO and me get in common as my application was in Ottawa all this while. He said they issued it to AVO to send it to me. I told him i was sure i didnt not receive any email. He them forwarded Accra's email address and said i should email them telling them i was aware that my application was approved and i was yet to receive any letter.
I sent the email immediately. Didn't hear from them after 4 days... Called again Friday 23rd May. This time the agent said he will send an email to AVO and if i still didn't receive a letter within 2 weeks i should call them again.
Ah Sunday i decided to tell oga Raphl MP wetin day go on. I email him yesterday.
Today was at work as usual, around 3pm i got an email from CIO not AVO. They said they were sure AVO sent a Ready for VISA Letter on 13th May 2019. That i should check my junk, spam, and inbox but if i was sure i didn't receive the email i should reply. Omo i check my mails again for checking sake... And replied them immediately... For my mind i said tops they would respond in a week. But about 3:30pm i received the Golden Mail!!!

Yes if you read my earlier post... immediately called my family not to tip toe any more... That it had landed... Ah you can imagine my mom's joy... It was more than mine... She said now when the extended relatives bring me up in their jist to mock her... She will say ... Eh... She dey obodo oyibio... They go shock eh!!! You know Nigerian and the respect they give you when you have a child abroad Lols.

As i said earlier not all of us will get PPR after 3 or 6 months... But God has got us. He will perfect that which he has begun in his time.
Who ever you are... At what ever stage...if you believe this is for you... Then go for it full blast... Though the silence may come, though the ADR's may come... We are will be victorious!! God has got us ...

Came to this thread in part 3 was active then but over the silence of the process i got drowned with emotions... But i am so so grateful to all of you.. The encouragement i got this morning was amazing and it came with the favor i needed. Thank you All!!

Hello Doyindre, the best option to thread is to sit for another IELTS exam and ace it. Uncle connection for express entry isn’t applicable only siblings. You can also include a PNP route but this decision should be taken if you have exhausted all other options.
Doyindre:
Hello everyone,
I’m ready to embark on my immigration journey. So I took IELTS and I got LRWS 7.5,8.0,6.5,7.0. I have my Btech in computer science as my highest qualification right now, but currently doing my MSc program. I clocked 25 May 26, 2019. From what I’ve read here I can use my NYSC worm experience. My spouse has an uncle in Manitoba which gives us a connection to Canada. I feel I’m 0.5 short with my IELTS score but hoping the connection to Manitoba can stand in for this and increase my CRS.
Please I want to know if this could help me before applying for my express entry. Thanks

Thank you for this well detailed information, although I'm still quite far from this stage. grin

Please in your opinion at what stage in the journey is best to book medicals? Knowing how the long queues always is, when is it advisable to book, and any information on the bills for the medicals in these clinics? Thank you very much in advance.

Sup kentoski

Booking medicals would depend on your CRS score. If your score is on the high side and you are sure you'd get ITA in the next two draws then you can book. But if your score is a bit low, it is safe to first get ITA before booking for medicals.

As per the medical fees the range is 35k-42k depending on the hospital.

Hope this helps. Wish you the very best.

For your country of residence, which in your case I believe should be Nigeria, your PCC must not be expired. That means you will work with the 3 months.

beges:

Please I want to be clear on this pcc thingy. Did you say the validity of pcc is 6months cos I have 3month boldly written on my Nigerian pcc?kindly clarify this for me please

It is valid for 6 months although it's stated as 3 months on the PCC.

You can leave it in your account as cash, use FD, or use 3 or 6 months Tbills. It is at your discretion.

Hello house,

Trust we are all doing great.

Quick question:

A family member is going to give me my POF which will be backed by a gift deed and notarized (just so that i can have rest of mind).
Now, i wondering which will be best to keep it between Tbills and fixed deposit.
Can someone just advise me on which option is better, with reasons explained.

Ps: My score is 468 and i'm patiently waiting for the next draw, meanwhile i am already gathering my documents ahead, that is why i need some advise on the POF.

Thanks.

what ever stage you are in this process ,pls stay strong and keep your head up.

pls I have a query .
got back from home this evening and decided to go through the document I submitted , and realised that the gift deed affidavit I used for POF had the name of my donor misspelled. ie instead of OYONBA, it was spelled OYOUBA other names where correct and the evidence of transfer was also attached with the correct name .
should I ask my donor to correct the error and send to me so I can raise cse or should I just ignore ?

what should I do

Truth be told, the first time I actively heard about Canada was in October 2016 shortly after I met my husband then chyker. Not quite two weeks into our meeting, oga told me that he would take me to Canada. In my mind I was like “see chyking levels o”.

Anyway, we eventually dated and got married. When the initial euphoria of ‘wedding’ had worn off, I suddenly started wanting more from life. I asked him about the Canada that he said he would take me to but my guy no come dey interested again o. OYO!!!

January 2018 I started researching about Canada immigration and tried simulating our scores. I must have been doing something wrong then because the points just would not add up. I shaa copied down some things in a notebook that I named PPR JOURNEY and left it at that. I later came to learn about degree evaluation and WES (didn’t hear about other evaluating bodies until I joined Nairaland much later in part 6).

I created my profile in April and got a contact for my school IMSU to get my transcript and certificate and was told my certificate was not ready (did not know WES accepts statement of result). Na so I bone that side and decided to go for IELTS. I had been preparing since February and my exam date was 7TH April. I arrived the exam hall in Ikeja feeling very confident that it would be a bowl of boiled yam and red oil (my favorite food). Did I mention that my result shut me up? LSRW 8.5, 8, 7.5, 6.5. Even though I was upset at having gotten 6.5 in writing which I considered as the easiest part of the exam, I didn’t realize it was not good enough for EE until the 60th day after my exam. That was when I learnt I could go for a remark. Guess what, it was 12:40pm on a Friday. British council don close. Kai villagers ooooo! Anyway #WeMoveOn

Since I hadn’t concluded my Masters at the time, we agreed that hubby should be the PA as he has a Masters degree. So we registered for IELTS and had 3 runs at it before he got the desired score;

1st IELTS – LSRW 7.5, 7, 7.5, 7 - July (MOD)
2nd IELTS – LSRW 7.5, 7, 5.5, 7 - Sept (MOD)
3rd IELTS – LSRW 8.5, 7, 7.5, 7 - November 1 (BC)

While hubby was trying to make IELTS we registered for WES evaluation of his UK masters. That was a breeze and was ready long before mine that commenced months before. By the time I learnt evaluation with statement of result was possible, it was around July or so and not long after there was ASUU strike. I persisted shaa and got one of the people that works in exams and record to help me which she did. After preparing my transcript, to get it signed was another war but God came through for me. Oya make una send am na… wahala come start. One story or the other every day. Anyway to God be the glory it was eventually sent. Time for verification nko, another longggg story. Today no light, gen is bad and all sorts of annoying stories. Then the woman comes one day and says “aunty why not let’s send this thing via post’? Say what My eyes bulged out of their sockets. So that is even possible? What have you been waiting for na? Madam come talk say she dey pity me cos I had spent so much. Chai I provoke no be smo!! Iziya monii? My people na 3k aunty d epp me save o. That’s how verification was sent via post and evaluation was finally concluded in November just a few days before Bae’s 3rd IELTS result came out. Come and feel the joy in our home… it was not here at all o.

We finally dived into the pool on the 20th December, 2018 hoping to get ITA with the next draw which we did.

ITA came on the 10th January. I called QLife on the 11th to book for medicals and was told the next available date was 7th March…Isi gini Called IOM and got 4th February (my birthday) and in my mind I was like so I should come and spend my birthday with you people akwaya? Lai Lai. I dashed down to Qlife and tried every trick in the book to get a closer date but that didn’t work so we kukuma took the date like that. Medicals 7th March - QLife

• PCC was through the very pleasant inspector Moshood at 8k for both of us.
• UK PCC for hubby was very straight forward.
• Work experience: We submitted hubby’s Offer letters and Reference letters in IRCC format for the two jobs we were claiming points for (both in the same NOC). @newmum0615 was an MVP in ensuring we picked the correct NOC.
• POF: Stanbic IBTC Money Market Fund letter in IRCC format only. No statements submitted.
• We attached Degree Certificates, ECA and IELTS in each of the place holders for our education.
• Digital photo was taken at Studio 24 on 13th January. We got both soft and hardcopies. I’m glad we can still use the hardcopies now.
• I had just gotten a new passport with change of name in January and therefore only uploaded the digital page of the new passport. Hubby uploaded the digital page and stamped pages of his.
• Marriage License: Court wedding certificate
• Change of Name: Court wedding certificate, NPP and Sworn affidavit

We went for our medicals on the 7th March. After we were allowed in, I quickly dashed to Stanbic IBTC office to pick up our Proof of Funds letter which we had requested for two days before and dashed back to the hospital. I had started experiencing a slight HBP a few months before this time. I did not want to take meds before the medical exam because I didn’t want traces of meds in my urine. A colleague suggested garlic which I started taking…Kai it was not funny “still yet” my BP was high. The nurse that attended to us was very nice and tried to calm me down. She tried two more times and with each try it came down. She still wrote the last result in red before sending me off to the doctor. On speaking with the doctor and having another go, it finally came down to a reasonable level but the doctor still asked me to run a Creatinine test which came out ok.

We came home that day and using a sterling bank card opened solely for this purpose (for the love of exchange rate), we made our payments and submitted our application at 11:35pm.

From my experience, nothing beats a straight forward application. Except you absolutely have to, make every document as simple and straight forward as possible. No need for LOE really.

I won’t talk so much about the wait because it’s nothing compared to what a lot of other people have endured and are still enduring.

I will just leave one prayer with us “God will answer us all speedily irrespective of the time that has passed already.” We never ceased praying and being thankful for the opportunity.

Do not give up hope because God is never late. This has been my testimony since this month of May.

May the blessings go round, Amen!!!

Both are very good investment options but tbills is better because it is secure (federal government backed investment) and usually possess higher interest rate compared to fixed deposits

Thanks.
