Why must it be in Nigeria if I may ask as well?

The most important thing is that the two meet in person and are sure that they love each other. Wherever they meet is of no substance.
With the recent adjustment in immigration rules, has anyone recently gone for interview and how was it? Please share your experience if you have thanks...

Dear all,
Thank you for your answers to my many questions and I pray we all get good news in no time.
I want to ask another question,I am currently studying in Germany and my application is just less than 1month.I am applying for some internships
in USA and there is a green light I might get an offer soon for a 6months internship. But now my question is will they grant me a visa to go for internship while I have a pending K1 application ?
I don't want to spend 6months doing nothing while I will be in the process of adjusting my status, which is a semester here and it might delay my graduation.
I will be glad to read from you guys .
You can still be granted Visa but your chances are very low. The onus is on you to prove to them you have no immigration intent. And that will be very difficult to prove since you have commenced K1 visa which shows immigration intent.

You need. you must provide a police certificate for each country where you lived for a period of six months. The only exception is the United States if you have previously lived here or are currently living here.
FROM… AND… THEN YOU NEED A POLICE CERTIFICATE FROM…
- the country of nationality if you resided there for more than 6 months are 16 years old or older the police authorities of that locality.
- the country of current residence (if different from nationality) if you resided there for more than 6 months were 16 years or older at that time the police authorities of that locality.
- any previous country or countries of residence if residing there for more than 12 months were 16 years or older at that time the police authorities of that locality.
- any country where arrested for any reason, regardless of how long you lived there were any age at that time the police authorities from place of arrest.

All get approved, you are a USC family. If you bring all documents, you are approved fast. If you miss some document, you are asked to bring it and you will be approved. If your fiance / husband, wife needs a joint sponsor, they should find one and you will be approved. Even if you were deported from US or have a criminal record, your family, USC claims you, it will take time asking USA for forgiveness but you are approved. If you are a drugs user, you may not pass the medical yet after you stop taking drugs for 6-12 months, you go again and you are approved. It is rare being denied but there are some political issues and big crimes which may deny your acceptance like crimes against humanity, terrorism, dealing drugs, prostitution, etc. which is very rare for common citizens.

The most important is a genuine real relationship and USC always on your side. You are a USC FAMILY now and the future US citizen, voter, our government welcomes you as part of our country.

Huh...that is hard for most US visa officers to detect that.

As long as the USC does not suspects that even if the US visa officers do...the petition will still be approved but might take a little longer than usual.

The cost is $1225.

Documents required are basically the documents you and your petitioner submitted when submitting the i129F form. You'll also need to submit Marriage Certificate, DS3025 (vaccination record), K1 Visa, i94, NOA1 and NOA2 and other documents to support your adjustment of status submission (i485). You may also wish to submit documents that confirms your relationship is genuine. Example of such documents include communications logs (emails, WhatsApp, etc), joint bank account, joint insurance coverage, pictures of wedding and other loved up pictures, etc. The USCIS should give you full details on the necessary requirements. Also there is the i485 instruction document that will guide your submission.

The wedding should be genuine. That's all that is required. Even if nobody attend your wedding, you're fine as long as the marriage is genuine.

Regards.

Hello everyone, quiet an informative thread. I just came across this thread and I am so glad I did. Please is it advisable for the petitioner (US citizen) to use the services of an immigration lawyer for this?

This started a couple of years ago but it was random and at arrival, checking phones, laptops and asking Facebook user name, with user name they can see all your chats, even deleted chats, same on the phone. It's a security check.

Yeah the ds3555, it was used for countries known for immigration fraud, Morocco, Pakistan and the likes. Now it’s for everyone.

Not advisable. They tend to mess things up. The petitioner along with his/her fiance can do it. All it takes is a bit of reading and asking questions.

How much does your fiancée makes? There is a list few pages back. Check and see and only at the interview is when you are shown if you need a co-sponsor or not.

I don’t think you can yet. Uscis only deals with the aspect of usc eligible, consulate dealing with the visa, once approved at the uscis, get ready for a co sponsor.

Hello People,

Please what's the K1 packet? We have sent a mail to the embassy after we saw the status of application changed to ready on the US Embassy website. Only a generic response came same day, we have completed DS I-160, payed visa fees and scheduled the interview. Beneficiary will be taking his medical test later this week. Is there any need to contact the US embassy again for the K1 packet because we don't know exactly what other specific correspondence from the US embassy in Lagos is required before the visa interview which is already scheduled for 1st week of July 2019.
