If you have 400 naira to spend, get nova launcher prime. Else, Microsoft launcher is an excellent launcher that is free. But to really enjoy it, you might want to turn of all the non-essential features such as cortana, connection to different accounts,etc. In fact, skip signing into it.

Lower brightness
Charge from 0-100
Use 3g when you're not downloading

kindly visit the below link to know the status of your bootloader

If your bootloader is unlock, kindly flash a fastboot ROM to revive your rom

But if your bootloader is lock, you have 2 option;

First option, request for bootloader unlock from mi, if granted, unlock the bootloader (with mi bootloader unlock tool) and flash fastboot ROM via fastboot mode.

Second option, flashing of fastboot ROM via EDL mode

What apps did you install recently? That's not caused by the phone's OS

FYI all apps showing in system apps can be disabled when you turn off "recommendations" in that particular app's settings. Ads on the browser is from the site you're visiting

It is a GPU problem, that game is not properly optimised for the PowerVR 8320 GPU. Although, you can try fiddling with your ingame graphics settings.

One of my greatest fears about Xiaomi is the pop up ads.

Please do you know how to change in-game graphics

It should be in your settings menu, note however, that the PowerVR GE8320 is not that powerful. Ideally, you should be playing with low graphics settings, or at most medium settings (with stutters).

I don't know about that, but the battery life of my redmi note 5 has greatly improved with the update, since morning I just couldn't kill this device, android 9 is fantastic on redmi note 5

Try to remember

Chai... Remember last year when I tried to install Global ROM on my RN5 China, I did all the pre rituals as normal like BL unlocking etc.. Den comes the main installation through MI flash, So I forgot to uncheck the "flash and lock" option before clicking flash. Wen I noticed it, flashing process had already started, so no going back again. for my mind I was busy lamenting about how I'm going to stress myself unlocking the BL again not knowing that I've successfully put my device on the road to "Soft Brick" which could even lead to a Hard Brick.
Las Las flashing finish successfully, device now started rebooting. While I was busy waiting to behold the new MIUI 10 update. I was greeted with greatest shock of my smartphone life, "This MIUI version cannot be installed on this device" bros, better piss catch me. Lol. I looked up looked down I was like, guy who send u sef, who send u!! I tried redoing the whole process again, nothing. Instead I was getting one "Edl error" message. Mehhn I almost lost balance. I could not even think straight.

So about an hour later I calmed down, den I started looking for solutions, funny how I didn't come here, lol. First I had to figure out what could have caused it which I later did. I was made to understand that Global Roms cannot be installed on a locked (Bootloader) RN5 China (which I did), if u do the fone will brick. That's why all RN5 China with global roms come with an unlocked Bootloader.

To cut the long story short, i spent almost 2 weeks looking for solutions, which was no where upto many users who stayed upto 3 months without a solution to it. I found help from the most unlikely sourc, a YouTube tutorial video with just 196 views, when thousands of users lined up on forums like XDA, MIUI, android authority etc looking for help and found none.

The experience really opened my eyes and made help understand how powerful and secured xiaomi devices really are.
