As per the Hotspot-wifi issue (inability to use them simultaneously), I read somewhere that it was because the new Google pie codes clashed with Xiaomi's Miui integrations. So it's practically impossible to have that feature on most Miui roms. You can switch to AOSP-based roms tho, works flawlessly.

I just learnt something today.
I've been using my Redmi Note 5 for over 9 months now.
I never knew you could use Wi-Fi n hotspot simultaneously on Miui.

I'm not updating for now

One of my greatest fears about Xiaomi is the pop up ads.
Today is Saturday. We're still waiting for your unboxing, sir.

I rely on it when my finger is wet. Besides, what's the point of having the features on your phone if you can't use it unless you set region to India!

Wet hand does make sense actually, although I've gotten used to the old fashioned solution of just drying the hand.

As for having an unused feature... Meh! I turned off lots of features and apps. Only use what works for me

Lol. See people running from update. Just remain on the version you are in o if you like the feature. Once you update, you cannot downgrade again.

Chai... Remember last year when I tried to install Global ROM on my RN5 China, I did all the pre rituals as normal like BL unlocking etc.. Den comes the main installation through MI flash, So I forgot to uncheck the "flash and lock" option before clicking flash. Wen I noticed it, flashing process had already started, so no going back again. for my mind I was busy lamenting about how I'm going to stress myself unlocking the BL again not knowing that I've successfully put my device on the road to "Soft Brick" which could even lead to a Hard Brick.
Las Las flashing finish successfully, device now started rebooting. While I was busy waiting to behold the new MIUI 10 update. I was greeted with greatest shock of my smartphone life, "This MIUI version cannot be installed on this device" bros, better piss catch me. Lol. I looked up looked down I was like, guy who send u sef, who send u!! I tried redoing the whole process again, nothing. Instead I was getting one "Edl error" message. Mehhn I almost lost balance. I could not even think straight.

So about an hour later I calmed down, den I started looking for solutions, funny how I didn't come here, lol. First I had to figure out what could have caused it which I later did. I was made to understand that Global Roms cannot be installed on a locked (Bootloader) RN5 China (which I did), if u do the fone will brick. That's why all RN5 China with global roms come with an unlocked Bootloader.

To cut the long story short, i spent almost 2 weeks looking for solutions, which was no where upto many users who stayed upto 3 months without a solution to it. I found help from the most unlikely sourc, a YouTube tutorial video with just 196 views, when thousands of users lined up on forums like XDA, MIUI, android authority etc looking for help and found none.

The experience really opened my eyes and made help understand how powerful and secured xiaomi devices really are.
Once you start to flash using mi flash tool, you can disconnect your phone at any point in time during the flashing process as long as it hasn't completed 100 percent. It's once it completes flashing that the bootloader is usually locked.

Lol. This definitely is a bug. You might not be able to get rid of it even with factory reset. Sometimes it takes flashing to remove it. I have experienced it on a friend's mtk phone about 2 years ago.

Your bootloader is unlocked, it's fixable. Do you have access to a laptop? And what happens when you press and hold the power button for like 10 secs?
If he doesn't know the previous owner, I'm not sure he can use any rom, even AOSP. that prompt to sign into an mi account will always show up.

Check the last app you downloaded or updated, that's likely the culprit. Google playstore>My apps and Games>Installed> change the "alphabetical listing to last updated" and uninstall the app. Or you can possibly check the last app you sideloaded if its not via Google playstore.

Just go to road side vendors in markets if you are in Lagos, look for used fast charger (with fast charger logo) of popular brand like Samsung, huawei, make sure its displaying fast charging, its around 1k or less. Saves time , energy.

Thank though currently I am not in Lagos

Why buy when you can get mod or use freedom or patcher to unlock it
All this because of 400 naira? undecided
Why do we consider it a taboo to buy software? Trying to cut corners is part of the reason we end up installing adware, spyware and viruses on our phones and causing more harm to ourselves without realizing it. angry

Go to the police headquarter (CID Unit) and report, they will help you and track it sharply. But go with the phone carton because they will need the imei numbers.
Your own case is even a special and serious case since it was at gun point. They will swindle into action immediately. The person wey dem go catch with that fone don enter trouble since na armed robbery and cultism case.

Notice: Please no one should buy a used phone without the original carton.
And don't destroy or dispose your phone carton. Also write your phone imei number where you can easily access in case you misplace the carton.
Good luck.
bro, them move my phone on Thursday morning, which CID unit can I go in ibadan to have it tracked, all the police station. I've been to are charging me exorbitantly. Thanks in advance
