The artificial trees fixed at major roads in Owerri, Imo State capital by former governor of the State, Rochas Okorocha, have started falling one after the other.
Some of the trees began to rot from the base and fell as the strength of the material caved in.

Parts of the state capital could be seen littered with fallen artificial trees meant to beautify the town.

One would have expected the artificial trees, if necessary at all, be mounted on concrete bases and strongly reinforced.

Anything short of that could amount to sheer wastage of scarce public fund.

Go and ask for the budget of those trees as proposed by Okorocha and the cost of garri will be the least of your problems.

I was driving in Owerri during a little ran and one of the trees nearly fell on my car. God saved me. The trees are not strongly installed.
