Spend at least a week in the shop and record the average income generated for that duration. When you're no longer available, let him know that he's on probation and the income he generates must be within the range of the average you generated otherwise he'll be locked up. Make him sign an undertaking involving the police. If that doesn't work, you can now sack him after deducting his salary to make up for some of the money he "chopped".

As much as I detest pilfering, some people are still salvageable especially a teenager such as this.

install CCTV, that's the only control that can work, it will reduce the pilfering but i doubt it can stop it outright. There is no way to measure the number of games played as far as i know

CCTV will only detect but not prevent.
Invest in an accounting software that will generate receipt for every transaction. Also write it boldly in the shop that all customers must obtain receipt.

The softwares are cheaper these days.

This will not only prevent fraud but project a good image about your business.

And he swore with his life that he's not eating my money. The next course of action is to fire him but how can i prevent this embezzlement from going on with the next guy I hire? The nature of business is a game lounge. I'll be grateful for any advice I can get here.

Prior to that, arrange with the police and take him there to sign an undertaking that whenever he is caught, he is paying restitution of 100k and be remanded in a cell for 24hrs for theft.

You will not see a good hire, do not trust anyone. And by the way, if that business is passionately so important as you sound, sit your ass down there and count your money. Nothing is small about income of any amount and you are not too big to sit down and monitor a gaming business.

I think maybe it really depends on the holiday and your customers if the majority are students for your Game Center Let’s not forget it was a holiday recently and there was more free time to patronize.

Now for the snooker could be that some people are playing for free based on knowing him. Just ask him honestly I don’t think during exams and school they would be patronizing as much hence the low pay

VERY high chance a relative will operate without fear and do worse.

He should install CCTV and ensure all payments are made under CCTV. Evidence of taking money away from under CCTV or accepting payment away from CCTV equal to theft and police arrest should be in employment contract.

Of course install a secret camera too. In case they disable the CCTV to hide stealing.
